The maximum size of the tournament buy-in generally depends on the circumstances, e.g. the day of the week (on weekends, the games are softer and we can afford shots at higher buy-in tournaments because of the higher ROIs) and especially whether the tourney is live or online (a live game is usually as soft as an online one with a 10 times lower buy-in).

Was first question necessary? Anyway, done. Looks like i'm not only one who thinks stock exchange is form of gambling. Mostly option traders.
