Awww  Thanks for the concern! But no need to worry, just got some life stuff to deal with right now.

Will hopefully have sorted it all out within a week or two. :)

I'm making a small series on how to play without a HUD, the first part has been released so feel free to check it out and leave some feedback! :f_love:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/39796/

PS. This series can definitely be useful also for players who USE a HUD, since we're focusing a lot on reads, timing tells, stack sizes, etc which might be easily overlooked when using a HUD! :f_thumbsup:

What a crazy day! I don't know how Sven did it, maybe he sold his soul to the devil or maybe he's a powerful sourcerer... but on the same day as my video got released, I also got a package delivered!!! And yeeeeey, it was full of awesome things!!! :f_love:

I actually won the black key chain like 6 years ago in a promotion of some kind, and I have been using it since then haha! Great quality! :f_love:

I also love the bag, I actually need a more "schooly" bag (where books etc fit, not just my handbag haha). A book to make notes from Pokervideos, cool pens to make the notes with, T-shirt, key chains (the one's with poker chips are awesome!), and 4 decks of cards! Man I wish every day would be like this one! :f_biggrin:

I would like to say a big big thanks to the Head Office of PokerStrategy.com down in Gibraltar for these awesome gifts! A special thanks to SvenBE and Przemysław (Yes, I had to copy/paste that) :f_love: :f_love: :f_love: You guys are the best!

well my stuff isn't for sale that's for sure. :f_love: I am not entierly sure, but I don't think that PS sells any of these things. Maybe someone who knows better can confirm it though! I've always loved poker merchendise, I also have a pink full tilt poker sweater that I use in the winters, and a pink pokerstars hoodie as well that I use when it gets cold. :f_love:

Well, damned. Life got in the way last couple of months, so I had to pause my challenge.

Things are finally looking like they are turning around though, and I hope to be able to resume the challenge during the next week or two. :f_thumbsup:

How's everyone doing? I have a feeling it might become a bit tricker to find those extra hours of grind now when the summer's here. Damned, that sun just makes me feel awesome :f_love: Maybe some nice side challenge would help, is anyone up for it? :f_drink:

Hey nice to see you coming back around the same time!:f_drink: Hope everything is fine at your end and good to hear the weather is getting better:f_thumbsup:

Atm I can't think of a nice side challenge although I am all ears if someone comes up with 1:f_cool:

Cheers and happy grinding!

Yeah man, perfect timing :f_biggrin:

I'd prefer a volume challenge probably, even if it would be for you (or someone else) like 200 hands/day is all you have time to play, then that's alright as well. Because as busy as you would be, saying you don't have time to play 100 or 200 hands/day..... let me quote.

"If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse." - Jim Rohn

I'd be open to other suggestions as well though. If nobody wants to tag along, I will do it on my own anyways most likely. :f_love:

Nah, you support others so much, I can manage that :f_biggrin:
I have 1 other suggestion but I don't know if it is fun for everyone (not to mention, feasible). PokerStars has a 'Home Games' option and I already have 1 group. However, I can make another group in which we can play against each other like once a week for 1 hour or so. I can make an Excel table and we update records/winnings of everyone who joins and see after a month who is the winner.

That is my suggestion :f_biggrin: Maybe if we someone can add/change something to this we can develop an idea out of it :f_thumbsup:

Cheers,
Hesticus:f_drink:

I don't know, normal tables most likely. But if anyone would join they'd set their own goal based on their own preferences anyway. It's just to keep up motivation and accountability, it's not about playing more volume than anyone else, because you know I strongly recommend against quantity over quality ;)

Ofc the challenge wouldnt be about quality itself, but rather about volume, WITHOUT compromising the quality. It's not a huge deal, it doesn't need super clear rules, it's just a fun thing to amp up the motivation and accountability a little. Everyone should know about how many hands they can play without starting to tilt and spew. If they don't, then this is a good time to find out. :)

For example I'd probably set a 2500 hands/week target for the challenge, with a sub goal to play 5 days x 500 hands because that would be most optimal for my quality of play. But sometimes it's not possible, and I might have to play more or less on some days. :f_thumbsup:

Alright, almost all school stuff are done for the semester and it's time to kick the challenge alive again!

I will start up the challenge, and set a volume goal for each week so if someone wants to join, they're welcome to do so! In Germany the weather is basically perfect for poker... Rain, clouds, thunder and more rain. For a number of reasons (exam stress, studying, no sun, lack of good routines etc.) my energy-levels dropped to almost 0 in the last few weeks, so it's time to get some structure back, and do everything possible to get myself back in the zone. Not just in regards to poker but every aspect of life in general :) The summer will mostly be about poker for me, but since I have a very important exam in September (kinda like MBA's I guess?) I'll need to study a few hours a day for that as well. I also have plenty of self-improvement/motivation/etc books that I want to read so if and when time allows I will try to get through some of those as well. It's kinda funny, because Brian Tracy says: "You'll NEVER get caught up with all those books, things etc that you plan to do". Man is he right! :f_biggrin:

Going to have to get super organized if I want to fit in everything I want to do. Won't really get much of a vacation until August I guess, but until then I will take a day here and there when I feel I need one. :f_thumbsup:

Not sure if weather is better everywhere else, seems summer (or maybe inactivity?) has stolen away all my readers!

I will kick-start my challenge again on Monday, in case anyone would like to join me! Until then I will enjoy the weekend off and draw up some goals etc.

Have a great weekend and may the weather gods have more mercy on you than they do with me! :f_love:

I am up for a volume challenge! :f_thumbsup: At the moment I am figuring out what will work better: working on increasing tables in the same time or play longer sessions without increase of tables or a combination somehow. I think with a volume challenge, I will feel the pressure to find the answer asap :f_biggrin:

Cheers,
Hesticus

Great! Will be nice with some company :) How many tables are you currently playing?

I'm still deciding on the week's volume, will post as soon as I've made a decision! :f_thumbsup:

So funny. When I woke up today the sun was shining for the first time in like 2 weeks, so I quickly brewed some coffee and brought it outside along with a nice book. 40 minutes later I had to go back inside because the sun was gone and the thunder started up again. And yet, somehow, I managed to get a sunburn. :appl: :f_cool:

I also looked up my schedule for next week and it looks a bit busier than I thought. Got some coachings, need to study a bit, resume my normal grind and then ofc also the Euro Cup starts :f_love: so to set a sustainable goal considering how little time I have left to invest into the challenge, I've decided to make it 300 x 5 = 1500.

1500 hands for the week, and as a sub goal 300 days on 5 days. The sub goal is a bit less important. I will play when there is time and when I feel good about it!

Hopefully the week after I'll be able to turn up the volume a little bit more than that. :f_thumbsup:

 Goals 6th - 12th June

1 500 hands
300 hands x 5 days

If anyone else than Hesticus wants to join at any point, you are welcome to jump in. As you can see, it's not about who can play the most volume. It's the act of setting a goal itself and working hard to achieve it that's the important part. If you don't want to join in public, you can also go ahead and keep it to yourself. Just make sure you write it down on paper and try to hold yourself accountable! :f_thumbsup:

Hi,
I'm also for quality and for this challenge. Where do i write how many hands i wanna play? For the matter of habit, everyone thinks with a bunch of habits you lose freedom, but it's not like that. You get more, because with habits you create options and with options then come freedom. :f_drink:
