Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♦ A♥

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (5.5 BB, 2 players) 5♥ 8♣ A♣
BB checks, Hero bets 3 BB, BB calls 3 BB

Turn: (11.5 BB, 2 players) Q♣
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (11.5 BB, 2 players) J♠
BB checks, Hero checks

I just wanted to check myself. I think it is was a mistake to not bet at least turn for value and protection. Anyway, I think that if we see check OTR and we bet OTT we can shove the river for value.

After checking turn there and getting checked to again, you're never ever beat, you have to bet river as played.

I think it is OK cheking the turn for pot control as played. But OTR you have a lot of value and almost never beat. Must bet for value there.

I don’t think it’s too bad to check the turn against a passive player. I don’t think you will get much value if you bet and I don’t think he has to many backdoor draws in his range either.
As played it’s a clear value bet with 2 pair on the river.

Agree with everyone else, I'd check turn and value bet river after he checks again, he'd surely bet a flush so you should have the best hand
