iPoker Game 7121448222 / Tournament
Table Speed Hold'em 1, 830875670 - 2016-06-20 19:36:31
Blinds : 0.02/0.05
##########################################

4 players
[CO] Hero (8.39)
BTN (5.37)
SB (9.79)
BB (5.05)

Hero K♠ J♥ Initial Pot: 0.07

Hero raises to 0.12
BTN folds
SB folds
BB calls 0.07
### FLOP ### J♠ 7♥ 5♠ Pot: 0.26
BB checks
Hero bets 0.15
BB raises to 0.6
Hero calls 0.45
### TURN ### Q♥ Pot: 1.46
BB bets 1.9
Hero folds

Flop: I don't see him check/rasing with any value hand which is worse than mine. He's either bluffing or has a better hand - a set is probably most likely? Can I call once or just fold right here?

Turn: no way I can do anything but fold against an overbet?

Fold is fine. Not sure about the flop call though.

That's what I'm unsure about as well :)

yeah, folding flop is ok. If you did'nt provide and postflop stats vs opponent - he is unknown. That means you have to fold vs XR 4X vs unkknown. Do you really think we will XR 4X vs draw? If so,, you need postflop AF or AFr stats to decide to call here.

This all depends what kind of player villain is. From unknown villain I would consider check raising as a very strong move. Good players will of course use it as a bluff or semi bluff also, but among weaker players it is very rarely used as such.

If you had known villain and had good reads of him, I think you have to call that flop check raise or even re-raise sometimes. Since you didn't re-raise shove OTF, I would say you are capped and villain is probably playing turn aggressively with his strong draws and other bluffs. This means that against some villains it would be good to even go broke OTT.

Against unknown I would still strongly recommend to fold OTF.

Right - thanks, I did consider folding OTF, but felt folding TPGK to a single raise was exploitable. But less of a concern in zoom/speed poker, and I should fold when I'm beat :)

yeah folding tp (and a pretty good one at that) in btn vs blinds in a board where value combos are very limited is definitely exploitable from a theory point of view, there's no question about it.
now well, do you think the EV of exploiting a nitty player pool (if that's the case, i don't play on ipoker to know) and avoiding future mistakes and tilt is enough to offset that? it could be.

I believe making exploitable folds at the micros is profitable in the long run as we experience double and triple barrels more often than not.

I agree with the flop fold. And do not bother about exploitability. Plus his raise is big on this board and looks like value.

Some players raise top pair on NL5, but, of course, a check/raise is a lot stronger than just raising.

I think he has a set, some players might do that with FDs, but it's less likely. If he is unknown, I think folding flop is fine.

As played, turn is definitely a fold.

I know the player pool in those limits at ipoker. These guys are quite nit, and I bet this raise IS for value. Folding OTF is no mistake IMO.

Really? So ipoker isn't a soft room?

I said guys are nit. This has nothing to do if its soft or not, since softness is measured by how good/bad players are. "Nit" is not equal to "good" _thumbsup:
