He might have put you on a flush draw and 3bet some Ax hands ott. So I think it is OK to push. Ott he has also A♦:X:diamond:

I probably also would raise OTF but if you have a read on what villain thinks you have, I think it is fine to play it like this.

A42 is a dry board andraising may not be that good. Getting it in on turn is perfectly ok. This is the reason to call this hand preflop.
