I would xc here. We do not have much info on villain yet.

Would you not bet/fold 1/2 - 1/3 here? I think villain either has missed draws or 8x / Jx or some PP. I dont think villain will ever bluff us if we bet. Obviously if we know villain is the type to bluff missed draws then I prefer x/c'ing.

What of those hands you mentioned will call your bet on river?

Check/call is probably fine, but this villain doesn't look loke someone who would bluff rivers alot. Tx is cbetting the flop, so he doesn't have it probably and 8x, Jx is checking back the river for showdown value. I feel like he would have a better hand more often than it's profitable for us to call.

All three options are possible, it is entirely a matter of assessment of the players range and behavior. Without that assessment it is a matter of estimating the GTO play. I'd say it doesn't matter much what you do. You have many hands (e.g. A♦:T♠: ) that are higher up and include some sort of blocker. That makes check-folding a little attractive, but then trips has showdown value, and it would be a pity. This, in turn, makes bet-folding attractive, we certainly can't bet-call. (Lol, this sort of blabbering could go on forever:) ) Best is to do the problem yourself, using tools, to come up with a strategy on similar boards. Such analyses often reveal that there really is a best play. Don't forget pot odds. They are just as vital (more!) as guessing what villain holds.
