He advancedTN1984,

how is it going? We've been missing your update - hoping that after dropping you regained some Bankroll.
Or have you been on holidays - for our BR challenge in August we btw give no penalties for missing updates in August, so you are still in strong!

Hello,

Welll first of all thank you for stopping here at this blog and saying hello to me:).

It's not going too well. Dont know what to say else. I think I sort of played too much and too many hours. I used one buy inn for playing in a casino. I think it's a bad habit too play too much all the time. I need some time off and getting some rest while not playing. So I am looking for doing stuff in the time that I don't wanna play poker basicly.

The bankroll challenge is not going too well. Cashing out 200€ and not cashing in has its effect on my motivation. The money is not gone but it's also not giving me back on track for the challenge.

Struggles, struggles, struggles.

Will update the challenge again. Not planning to go on holliday, i got 2 days off in the mid of august to have some time with some friends. And also weekends are in another part of this country.

So for the challenge, i am up at 247€(expecting 20€ tomorrow and another 50€ from the rake race of pokerstrategy). Unibet doesnt track hands so dont know how much hands.

Hello,

Tomorrow will be an day off, going to have some mini break of one day. In automn, I will spend some of the money won for some learning to skate. I think its good to have some regular basis of doing something different then poker. I think it can be fun to learn some basics in skating and doing regularly an hour a week or so. The struggles are not gone. My mini vacation was good, I had one day off to a city in germany and one day of doing some other stuff. So all in all I learn to have some time off. Hope it will have its effect on my poker progress.

The grind is going fairly well. I am up to 401€ now. I think its decent. All in all, i had also 50€ rakeback since last post and some money for the leaderboard of unibet. Spend some money on nl25 and am now back to nl10. Will do it properly with bankroll managment from now on. But I know I promise myself this as always. So the goal is to go back to nl25 at 625€. So that will last at least another week..... Or if I hit 5 straight flushes in a week, only one week.

The studying is also not going well. Having some money spend on another site for video's and having spend some money on pokersnowie. I don't use it that well. I am not disappointed but I could do better with the resources I have.

Mentally I am always stuck if I have lost money, I know that short term results doesnt reflect anything in poker, but when I lose some money on a higher stake I have always the great not so great idea to leak more money by cashing out a large amount of it. I think I need to set up some regular goals like, cashing out 25% of winnings per month or so. I don't know what works best but at least having a plan for cashing out and sticking to it. It will make the challenge more though if I regular cash out a chunk of my money but by crippling the challenge by always cashing out nearly 90% of the roll, I will never get there. Hope some of you have had the same and can give me some thoughts about it.

I used one buy inn for playing in a casino.

What casino did you go to and when?

What about tighting up you bankroll to 40-50 buy-ins for the next level? You'll be dealing better with downswings and
feel much more comfortable on the paticular level. That's what i did.:f_wink:

I am not that comfortable to play nl50 yet, skill wise and capital wise. So I will delay moving up after the challenge. So grinding this to €3250 and than move up.

Next thing I will do today is to look more in the mental game of poker. I think I have some mental leaks with it. And figuring out a tilt profile. An a-b-c game profile is good as well. Along with some study of the game as well. I am always triggered to play poker instead of studying, while studying is also plus expected value long term of course.

Thanks for the input!

So you now playing with 625€ 25Nl and you want to move to 50NL with 3250?

If i understand it right, 625 is to less for 25NL and 3250 is too much for 50NL. But i think you know for sure what's right for you.

Well yes. I think, I want to complete this challenge in some way. And the biggest improvement for it could be that i won't play nl50 during this challenge.

But I understand that 625€ is a little too less for nl25, but also want to move up a little bit quick.

how's going?

Today was good. I changed my preflop plan dramaticly and it seems to work out. Also it is now a lot thougher to come to the river with marginal hands and call of better hands. Will update tomorrow in bigger detail.

I figured out that my preflop plan was far from optimal. I was cold calling not a good range. I was 3betting too value heavy or too linear and stuff didnt work out that well. So I am now working on my preflop plan step by step. First I changed my RFI. As it was, I was opening 14/16/28/55/45(utg/mp/co/bu/sb). This made me play weak ranges. As far as I have considered the ability to play those weak ranges is not going that well. I made capital errors with QJo UTG for example. Or did loose some money with mediocre pocket pairs utg. Also calling mediocre pocket paris made me lose money. So I disliked but was not able to redo my ranges yet.

I thought I could play it profitable and had some ego in my way between winning hard or playing break even/slightly losing. So I changed it. And as far as things go it was a good time to change my cold calling range and 3betting range against regulars as well. But as far as I can see this is going to be a lot of practice. Because the RFI from one opener is not the RFI from another opener, so I am kinda lost. I made some standard ranges as a development of standard cold calling ranges and as far as they go now, the top of my folding range is now the bottom of my 3betting range and hoping to make those mediocre hands profitable. One example will be posted below. The hands in the green are 3betting hands and the hands in the other color will be the cold calling hands against a villain that is opening 2bb from the sb and stealing very wide probably. To adjust to them I 3bet a lot for value and as bluff. My stacking off range will not be that wide probably. Don't have thoughts about that topic yet.

I hope it is clear for you guys!

ha because you hit more often! You will see so many flopped straights and flushes.... But soon you will realize that the opponent does, too!
