Detailed reflection on 3 things
Poker
For this month at 49.55 hours with 17 days left which will bring another 85 hours minimum, so total for the month will be over 135 which is cool. Currently running bad, cEV is 55 with evROI at 4.25 % on 1.6k+ games but running with 0.76% ROI.
Most positive things about week or so of 5 hours grind per day is that habit is restarted and system is set in place. Now I automatically grind 2 morning sessions before training with Sensei which before I didn't do - I either went for coffee or was telling myself that my focus early is off and that I would play better later in the day. Of course, those are all mind tricks that we play with ourselves. Once I set it up in calendar and attached emotional response and triggers to such thing (in this case if I don't grind I will likely miss Asia trip and possibly even jeopardize bankroll saving) which all then leads to powerful self image. Now my days are normal to have 5 sessions while doing training teaching and having time to rest and spend it with family and friends. The more time passes the easier it becomes and automatic. It was true test when I got sick on Saturday, it felt very hard to play but I did it anyway because once I set something as a must do no excuses are acceptable.
Speaking of setting things and no excuses, before I go to Thailand on 21st on January 2017, there are about 19+ weeks left. Since I am grinding now per week 35 hours, that potentially gives me before actual trip 665 hours of grind which with hourly of 32$ post RB can bring 21280$. That kind of money would certainly make my life easier in every way. 4k from this point for apartment mortgage, 4.5k for BR, 0.5k for Thailand and then for life BR additional 8-9k. That kind of money would take me about 8-10 months of living expenses in 2017 which would be phenomenal and allow me to focus on my guitar and music vision and mission. So it is very likely that I will do 19+ weeks of 5 hours per day grinding without any days off to hit such number. Of course, if I hit 12000x, that would sort out tons of my goals and I can start focusing more on music and guitar right away and still play poker 2-3 hours per day to keep saving money in the process of building automation for other things.
Yeah, its just nice to know that by 21st of January there is a lot of time to make more then enough money. My hope is that nothing unexpected in a bad way doesn't happen in the meanwhile, and here I mean no new deadlines or more money to save for apartment mortgage. Once apartment mortgage is payed off I can give myself some time off from poker and treat myself for successful mission completed.
Weight loss and fitness
This is going very well in both areas. I keep dropping 1kg per week (or a bit more) which is very cool. I also did past 2 weeks 6 trainings, 4 with Sensei and 2 at home using pull up bar. I also move a lot more, take frequent walks and don't call taxi as I used to before. My knowledge in nutrition and work outs has improved a lot, especially nutrition. For work outs I am definitely getting and will dig even deeper to understand realistic expectations of muscle growth and development once I am leaned down to 77kgs with 10-13% body fat. 2nd step will then be to increase calorie intake (create surplus) gain weight but keep training hard and make all that extra weight from muscle while maintaining that range of body fat. End goal will be after this process of cutting and lean bulking to actually get to balanced strong and defined physique (abs, arms, shoulders, legs, back etc). 19 weeks is certainly not very long period for this. Yes I will likely drop to 77kgs before the end of this year but that is just phase 1! For muscles to grow and for body to recover, time is of essence. Also increasing weights in training is not like in video games! Since I am doing CrossFit type of trainings, sometimes there is 8+ trainings before I do the same exercise again. That means that I don't necessarily get 10 times per month to work on 1 specific exercise and build up weights on it. I will once I complete 40 sessions with Sensei consider to do weight lifting combined with CrossFit. This will put emphasis on just strength which is something that I will need to focus more in the future for sure. Right now in 4 trainings per week I do 2 strength ones and 2 cardio related ones. In the near future that will switch to 3 vs 1 in favor of strength. Also, my body thanks to sports I played and trained and being very competitive, I have less trouble adapting to heavy cardio vs heavy strength training simply because through my life so far I never dedicated enough time to strength training. Yes I did learn about dead lift and squat while in USA and that's when I realized thanks to my football legs and basketball I can do squats and deadlifts with over my body weight. But that is not enough and it is certainly not the way things go and end. I need to improve my maximums on a lot of weight exercises and I very much look forward to that journey since I am not as experienced in it to enjoy the ride along the way. Make no mistake, abs will be showing once I cut down weight and body fat, but that will not be the end to my road to working out!
Couple of final notes on my progress. My Sensei today was in shock when after training he saw me with 81.6kg. I didn't weight myself for almost a week since my digital scale is acting out. Last time I did weight myself I had 84.2kgs. So 2.6kgs in less then a week or so is not realistic. It was due to very heavy cardio training. I am sure my realistic weight is around 82-83kgs right now. My Sensei was also a bit shocked when he heard that I eat less then 1500 calories. He has 85kgs and eats 2-2.5k calories and is super ripped and defined. He couldn't believe that I get all this energy from 1.5k or less calories per day. I explained to him that I eat over 100grams of protein every day and that thanks to intermittent fasting I have "Cheat" meal in the evening which perfectly fits with other macros (carbs and fats) which makes my meals very enjoyable and lasting long term. Finally we both agreed that it will be very interesting to see new measurement results once I decide to go again to the clinic where I went on 27th of July. I will go there with 77-80kgs range. And I already look forward to check the ratio of muscle vs fat loss during the weight loss. It may turn out that I get down to 10% body fat but that I need to work even more on my muscles through strength training, or 2nd scenario that I dropped weight but lost plenty of muscle along the way and body fat % can still be higher then 13% for example. I doubt that 2nd scenario will happen, it will likely be the 1st scenario where then with low body fat of 10-13% I can continue training with focus on increasing weight and pushing myself in that area while also adding some kgs thanks to training and cycling my diet (eating more during that period due to even heavier energy expenditure and rest needed). So yeah, this is something I very much look forward but to be honest I am loving every single day of my life and if there is no training happening it feels like a big thing is missing, this happens on Saturday for me for example. I will likely find a basketball partner for Saturday just to be very active 7 days per week, 4 heavier trainings , 2 at home and 1 playing sports. This is a dream come true for me and I am so close to reaching it now!
I will in the future as I drop more weight and when I set up new measurements let you all know how everything is looking then. So far - very good and extremely happy with my journey. Finally, once I get 100% better and finish all the formalities, I will open new YouTube channel to post content regarding weight loss, work out suggestions, psychology, motivation and such things for all people interested to follow get motivated and moving!
Teaching
Doing really well helping all my students and them doing very good job with assignments and following up on things. Without this, things wouldn't be the same. Once mortgage is payed off, money is saved for BR and Thailand and potentially for other life expenses, then my mission and vision for helping people all over the world with my music knowledge experience and systems will kick in. I will publish my masterclass that I did in Boston MA USA. I will create a course which I will talk about more in detail when time comes. New website will be created. I will publish a book on very specific topic that there isn't enough material on anywhere! I will record album with my own original music. I will collaborate and record with other people for their albums (already did this while in Boston MA USA). I will increase my rates (from 50$ per lesson) and work on automating my business.
All this will lead to 3 key things: 1) I will do thing that I love to do most which is music 2) I will get to do what is in my DNA and what comes from my family and life background and that is to help as many people as I can become the best they can be 3) In the process, there will be people who will be willing to pay hence allow me to live a great life doing what I love to do.
So this is next and hopefully if you made it reading this far you can see from things I outlined in Teaching section of the update that I have a very clear road map and plan how to achieve things that I won't. Trust me guys and girls, gentleman and ladies, every day that I spend playing poker my music mission and vision is getting further away from me in terms of things becoming further and blurrier. This is why I want to dedicate most of my time in the near future to that vs poker. + poker is not as fullfilling for me like music and helping people. Already talked and wrote about it, no need to repeat my opinion on it. To each its own as the saying goes.
Hope you managed to read this update to the very end and have now in depth insight into what are plans for both poker (until Thailand trip), weight loss and fitness (cutting then lean bulking with visible 6 pack through out) and teaching (tons of things in motion that I am very excited to get to and complete all of them!).
My wish for all of you reading and following is to find your passion and love in life (whatever it may be) and stick to it fanatically. When there is a will there is way goes another saying. So don't let other people guide your life, aim to learn from others and to get experience but focus on constantly improving and going in direction that you believe you should be going. Everything else is secondary to that and if you ever wondered why a lot of people feel lost in life in any ways it is simply because they are living their lives in Matrix and haven't yet defined their life purpose, mission and vision which leads to them doing things that they don't enjoy doing.
Good night and may you be healthy, focused and constantly driven on path to constantly improving in areas of your life that you seek improvement in!
