99 - TOP set multiway pot

Since there are so many players and this flop is just CANCER it self ... I think this is a very RARE spot where I would at least THINK about folding this OTF. We will be most prolly ahead most of the time, but the question is HOW much are we ahead. Wow ... I am not sure and I need to get to my PC at home to analyze this in Flopzilla.

But defnitely I wouldn't think about folding during the hand ... I would just raise it up and go broke ofc. If anything here is bad .. it is just calling. You have to raise it up.

I would raise flop myself and plan to go broke OTF. Yes you are beat against JT and 56 but even vs those you have decent equity AND 77,88,87,89 and some flush draws and some overpairs are still possible in villains range. So overall I think you should be ahead most often.

Hmmm this is close indeed. We can put villains on: overpairs (not many of them judging by the pre flop game), sets, monsterdraws and straights. When I think about it I don´t think folding after SB 3 bets OTF is bad, on the contrary we already put some money in, so it´s pot odds what you should count now imo. I think it´s pretty close and choice is yours.

PS: Agreed, that you shouldn´t call OTF.

In my opinion with the top set you should definitely go broke OTF. Yes, JT and 56 beat you, but there are also lower sets and monster draws who would be happy to go broke on this flop and your equity is pretty good.

Why ? Could u elaborate ?

There are 8 combos of made straights if we assume villain only opens suited hands. There are 9 combos of weaker sets and 2 pair. Even if villain has straights only we have 35% equity. When we put those lower sets and 2pair in his range we have 65% equity.

I guess it is pretty standard play and easy shove in MWP.
Just suppose one of the villains has 88-66,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,AhKh,AhQh,AhJh,AhTh,Ah9h,Ah8h,Ah7h,Ah6h,Ah5h,Ah4h,Ah3h,Ah2h,JTo,98o,87o
and other one is about the same => we have about 45% vs that ranges.

2) Suppose one of the them has lower set and other one has straight. I this case u have only 24% - so u can try to find fold, but not sure that is possible in MWP.

3) One on the villains has straight, another has NFD - so in this case u have 34% - so it is easy call.

To me the basic scenario is 1), so it is never a fold.

Eventually you put all your chips in, good, that call was a missed beat but incidentally the slowplay helped. It was like you knew what CO had.
In no limit a flopped top set is played for stacks.
Your opponent's variance is tough to bear...poor him.

Well, thats true. But let's not forget all the drawing hands and combo-draws. Is it still +EV for us ?

That doesn't matter at all. You can give him any number of monster draws or pair+draw and our equity stays the same. If we have a made hand and villain is drawing we are favorite to win the hand and we should put all the money in as soon as possible.
So basically the possible drawing hands only speaks for a shove here.
