BB showed 9♥: T♦: and won $30.42 ($14.52 net)

I guess preflop and flop are standard. What would you do on the turn when villain raises very big? T9 is the only hand that beats me but I think villain can have smaller sets, 2 pair and some combodraws too?

Okay so I did some calculations and range estimations and it looks like we would need almost 50% equity to get profit with my move. If we put villain on only 88,T9s,T9o and AJs AJo we don't get enough but it is close. If villain has KdQd and 2 out of 3 combos of JJ and 77 we are just there.

What? Why would we need 50%? We are putting 14 more of our money after there is already 2 out there (not counting his raise). We need 46.6% to have a profitable shove. That 3.4% difference is nothing to sneeze at! Its actually better than 6% ROI.

I mean, the word "almost" shouldnt be used in this case because the closer you are to 50% the more valuable are your extra percetages :f_wink:

I believe you played it fine OTT but I hate your small bet OTF. When he calls a bigger bet he would be making a terrible mistake, because only 3 of his 8 outs give him the nuts. Im betting bigger with all my hands there. It seems that your standart cbet is 45-50% pot with everything. Is that the case?

Now you only gave us the stacksizess and that it is between btn and bb. both deepstacked. but no information about the game dynamic.
The answer is depends on, if you are an active opener from btn + and about your opening betsizing -(if you always open for 3bb or you usually open steal for 2,5 and this time you opened for 3bb...because some people do that mistake they open 2 or 2,5bb when they want to steal, and open 3bb with thier value hands, sometimes, it happens by mistake, but it shows a lot of hand strength.
Now, if you attempted to steal the blinds a lot, you were going to hear from QT+ KT+ Ax+ JJ+, with a 3bet, specielly that you are playing deepstacked. at least i would do that . I would flat call 56+,-88,J9,Q8 and so on..
by that I mean, if you were lose from the blinds, you were going to get a lot of 3bets lights. but if you were playing tight, players will adjust, and start flatcalling with hands that gives good implied odds.

on the flop, I prefer a higher cbet, I know, the BB was never folding 9T to any betsize on the flop. But still, you need to bet higher to build a pot. specielly when there are draws on the flop. 9T, XdYd, QT, 97. so you need to bet higher, and you want to bet to get paid from all the Jx, Ax, two pairs and sets.
The turn action, the 7, was not a good card, and your betsizing was a sign of strength arround 75%, and the 7, would give you a lot of 2 pairs (J7,78,A7,J8) so the moment that he checkraised you, it is the top 3 hands, and you are holding one of them. 9T, JJ (not sure about it), and your AA. I wouldnt jam there, I would call there as we have 100bb+ behind, we could still play some poker on the river.
Lets pretend that you called, and the river was blank, and bb checked to you, you must valuebet there, if you got checkraised again, it is the nuts. I saw this tendencies before.
anyways, I guess that the turn shove was not needed there, if he was betting for value + bluff on the turn, he was going to bet for you on the river anyways, so you could wait untill the river. but i could be mistaken, I play more omaha than texas, so i could be wrong :).

@nsavov
I said almost 50% :)
My bet sizing depends on villain and the board and my own hand. I think villain will call wide pre and have all kinds of crap in his range. I also tend to cbet quite much so I don't want to do it 3/4 every time. It is true that maybe I should have bet at least 2/3 here.

@888Bingo888
It is zoom and I have 0 hands on villain so no dynamics. My standard opening size is 2.5bb from BTN and SB and I will do that with AA too but since neither of those guys know me and a lot of guys still steal with 3bb, I go ahead and open my strong hand 3bb.

Calling on the turn would have been an option of course but my thought were that the more he has draws here, the better it is to get it in now. And also I might be going broke on a lot of rivers. I thought what his range might be and decided that it should be a profitable shove and now that I have calculated it, it seems to be pretty close at least. But yea, maybe calling would have been better overall..

Thanks guys for your comments!

Now it is time for you to write a note on the player that he doesnt play strightdraws aggressivley oop 9T @AdJd8 bb vs btn. ( so you know it to the next time ;) ). but the player seems to be a reg. I like his betsizing on the turn.

huh, we are micro stackes and villain XR 4X. Do you really think villain would do that with sets? what kind of set does he have and gave you pretty good odds with your possible FD (you bet 1/2 OTP). With most of his 2p+ OTF he most probably will lead or XR OTF. So, to me, after the raise of that size - just call the turn if is likes wtsd(>=29). If his wtsd is less than 29 - just fold.

Stacking off automatically here, might just call once in a while if villain likes to bluff x/r turn.

I bet bigger OTF. As you said, only T9 beats us and villain can hold other sets, 2 pairs, some draws. Shoving OTT seems reasonable. + we also have some outs to FH.

It is very important to bet big on flop here, and don't go second-guessing if you could have milked more if villain folds. An A on the board guarantee's that there is a least a straight draw on the next card. Top set with KK can be played slower if preferred.
