What would be my push range in this situation? I would assume nearly any 2 cards?

Only problem with shoving almost any 2 that you don't have much fold equity most likely or you have some reads he can still fold a lot. Otherwise I would check behind all crap hands. K4o I would push for sure.

+1 on the above adding one more thought I' having : especially since there is no action behind us - BTN has folded so it's just you and SB, and you pushing has almost no chance of getting him to fold. He knows you are pushing wide.

Enter at own risk
Another (potentially wrong) view I might take on this : Since we are that low on effective stack, we can take SB's call almost like a push and if that is done (Vil Range : 85%) we could call with 71% of ours (down to Jx / T5o). So in other words if SB (not a nit!!!) pushed, would we call? with K4o of course we would. So why not push ourselves.

When pushing with 4bb three handed then any J+ should be good. But if you have more than 5bb then I would be more picky.
In this hand if you decide to fold then you are pot commited in the small blind and these big stacks are both gonna call you off just to check it down. So pushing here is the best play.

You have no FE equity against either stack, so I would take this opportunity to shove against just one opponent who has shown some weakness by just calling.

I would prefer to play stop n go here. Check pre and get your chips in on the flop. This is a perfect flop for stop n go!

You have no fold equity pre.

A stop and go is also a good option I think. Don’t forget angalius that we can check in the BB against the SB limper.

What kind of board would you shove on the flop then with this stop and go play?

A stop n go seems a good idea, but what do you do when you miss and SB bets?
Its easy to say a stop n go is good on that board as you've hit it. I prefer to stop n go when you are first to act post flop as then you can force the action

You don´t have to hit. Stop n go you do generally on a dry flop which most of the players missed completely. With the stop n go play you can generate fold equity which you don´t have pre flop anymore. And besides, Hero is heads up with SB so king high wouldn´t be a bad hand in heads up and here he even hits the 4 so push it! If Villain calls with ace high or so we still are ahead and our chances to double up and get back into the game are high. Then, after doubling up we have fold equity again and do push or fold according to ICM.

True you dont have to hit, but I'll ask again, what do you do when you miss and SB bets?
and thats quite a wet board for SB limping range, 2 hearts and lots of straight draws, so most hands that are 2 overcards to your 4 with a straight or FD you are flipping against or 60/40

To me Stop n gos work best when you call a raise OOP & then you take the lead OTF & shove. I'd much prefer to stop n go this hand in the SB

I'm not sure whether shoving or stop n go is best in this spot really, I dont think you have much FE either way

You can still fold and you have 3 BB left to try it again or push with something pre.

The FE depends strongly on Villain but at least stop n go looks stronger.

Stop n go may look stronger but a lot of the time you wont be able to complete the "go" part as villian will bet the flop

Folding a Kx hand at any point in the hand when you start off with only 4BB has to be a mistake

You have to complete the "go" part because it´s called stop n go. :f_grin: But you´re right, you cannnot always do that only in certain situations. Here you can do it. Or you push. You have to get the K4 in anyway!

Exactly with 4BB you cannot fold a Kx hand, but earlier you were saying you could fold if villain bets flop and still have 3BB....

Theres some crossed wires here... haha

Yes you can get away and fold, but normally you go with anything. So you can do both, but stop n go, normall you go.

But of course you can only stop. :f_biggrin:
