I would have cbet OTF, why check?

What are your reasons for cbetting?

My reasons for checking are: it is a 3bet pot, my opponnent could have Kx, if he hass QQ or JJ he is probably not laying it down vs one bet and I do not want to turn my hand into a multi-barrel bluff. On the other hand, TT seems good enough to check-call and I might incentivise my opponent to bluff himself. Of course, this way I fail to protect my hands against overcards and possible draws but I am keeping the pot small and can evaluate and act on specific turn cards. Also, I am blocking some straight draws like JT, QT so they are less likely.

I would cbet OTF too. Your hand might very well be the best and villain has decent amount of draws here. I wouldn't want to give free cards.

What villain reps OTR? The answer is: nothing.
Sometimes he can have some random Qx. You look very weak in this hand so I guess he is just running a bad bluff without thinking what he actually reps by playing like this.

You can cbet, but checking is fine, as long as you aren't check/folding like a weaktard.

As played river I'd say it's a crying call because you've shown too much weakness but it should be close, you won't make shitloads either by calling or by folding here imo.

You kinda block potential flush draws, worse hands will call ya once, postponing the cbet to the turn might be a good idea, it includes a pot control

QQ and JJ should 4bet you pre. The fact that he has some Kx in his range doesn't matter that much. You have to think about his whole range. He will have flush and straight draws and weaker pocket pairs too.
By check calling you let villain continue with wider range and let him try to bluff you. And because there is a K on the board he might actually manage to do that.

XC might not be bad but I just prefer cbetting.

Well, if you check like you did and villain bets, you didn't really narrow his range...he might have just bet as a bluff. But I reckon if you would have bet first and he called or raised you, then you can take the bluff cards out of his range.

Also, you had the initiative, why not represent strength?
That would be my simple thinking though...don't take it as poker wisdom :)

cbetting "for info" isn't really the right way to think about poker dude ;)

It was part of me cbetting, along with the fact that I would have cbet with a reasonably strong hand and initiative...if it possibly provides "info" on an unknown villain, wouldn't that be a plus?
Are you basically saying that you never retrieve info with betting, bet sizing etc?

What i never do is saying "I'll bet, like this if he calls I know he's strong, else he could be weak and that would be a shame, he could make mistakes with his weak holdings and I could profit from it instead of value cutting myself right now" :f_ugly:

It's really just the way you're presenting things that's making me tick, but on the spot I said I'd cbet too. But it would have nothing to do with "knowing where I am", hell I often wouldn't know that much more after

fair enough :)
I can definitely see that it might be illogical thinking that gets in the way of sound poker...hence the reason I'm probably still on the low limits
That's why these discussion are nice in my opinion...it makes you think about your (false) reasoning

The Holly Bible of Saint Poker ends on these lines :
"So always remember to check your thought process for contradictions and get excited when one is discovered, as that means you've found an opportunity to improve."
Amen.

I cbet this flop. Simple rule: cbet all pocket pairs (surely not profitable in most cases, but overall it´s profitable to start with it). As played, bet OTT or c/r flop as a bluff.
