This video has even more interesting range vs range spots:
Too bad that all the hands are not shown from beginning. That 97o Sulsky hand is weird on the river. But if it was 3/4 bet pot and if I knew the action on flop , I could certainly connect it more in my mind. Still, seemed a bit wide from 1st view to obs river with it.
65s in 3 bet nai pot, very cool hand for analysis. Interesting how wide Sulsky elected to call 3 barrel jam there. He likely has tons more Kx that he defends and probably has large portion of them being off suited ones. Texture is very good for bluff catching because straights and flushes missed so I can definitely follow why he elected to call. The thing is, I don't ever see someone like Doug bluffing heavy in that spot. He choose pretty much hand in the bottom of his range to bluff (no sdv and busted draw). On the other hand he will likely have tons of Kx Ax type of hands in this spot. If Doug 3 barrels Ax here as part of his strategy with Kx as well (debatable if Sulsky floats with Ax that K73 texture, likely with BDFD, FD and BDSDs) so in that sense probably Doug checks majority of his Kx to bluff catch river after bet bet line. However, after seeing K3 call there, he will probably in future choose to value bet thinner in those spots with KJ+ hands as well since Sulsky calls such wide Kx combos.
This is my analysis and what I took from that specific hand. Again, this is awesome way to practice your thinking process, work on understanding range vs range and try to implement the strategy in real games.
Those guys are among the best if not the very best poker players in the world. You can learn so much from them, the key is to work on understanding thinking process and range vs range construction on those textures. Finally, this can't be applied to Spins the exact same way. The reason is of course the fact that they play hands with much larger stacks while in spins you effectively in HU never have more then 30bb. So in that sense, your pre flop and post flop sizings are different and your range construction will also be different on all the streets vs actual Polk and Sulsky's plays.
More and more I am getting a great hang of it. Yesterday played very good sessions and was always thinking about these spots. Why some hands that on paper in CG or HU are used as 3 barrel on Spins are not? And the answers are : effective stacks, different range construction, different call down frequencies!
Once I get a really strong understanding by doing tons of analyzing for post flop spots from DB analysis + using notes from opponents, I can then with absolute certainty play every single flop with maximum exploitable strategy with each hand of my whole range to maximize EV of each hand and therefore maximize my win rate along the way.
Enjoy your new week on and off the tables!
P.S. Managed to do 1 set of pull ups. Today I started with 7 in a set (my maximum set was 8 2 weeks ago but just a single set!). Will see how many sets with 7 pull ups I will be able to do today since past 2 days I worked with 6 and 5 x 6 sets already. Also, before grind, will continue more with DB analysis and CREV for 15-30 minutes of studying to get strategy that I mentioned yesterday.

Why our EV is going down because he have like 600 combos and 250 are total air rest is two pairs, top pair, 2nd pair ,3d pair, flush draw , straight draws , usually in x/raising mode are TOP pair ,two pairs m 4 out straight draws, some time 3d and 2nd pair for protection . So thats why his EV is growing because he folds 40% of air and call/raise other 60% of the times .
