Hey hans, started reading your blog a while ago. Much respect to you for your ethic and results. How did you get so successful. Just through strategies? I tought about signing in, but I am not sure, because it sounds too good to be true that anyone can achieve those 10k+ months. Do you agree with that?

TY Felix for the nice words. I learned some of this stuff on my own while other I got injected. I would say it's true that anyone can make 10k$ but it also depends on your commitment level. As semi professional I think it's really hard if you don't have a certain level(like min NL50).

First of all Happy New Year and I wish you a very successful 2017. Now, this is going to be the first part of the update since there are a lot of things to write about.
So in November and December I made overall a bit more then 27k$ in profit for approximately 130h of playing which makes a decent hourly.
But that wasn't really the interesting part about this 2 months. I mean sure it's nice to score a good result but there are other things that I value more currently then the money won.
First it was my live experience. I made a couple of longer vacations in these 2 months but the most intriguing one was Prague and the EUREKA cash games. So what exactly did I learn there exactly? Well, guess what, that live and online are 2 different games that have similarities but still quite different strategies IMO. First of all, I think I got owned by a live NL1k&2k pro. He did not impress me with his technical game but rather the way he handled the table, he was absolutely crushing the game. Every time I was weak he attacked, every time he felt somebody wasn't strong enough or was nitty in certain spots he was there. He might have run good(as we rarely get to see the cards) but he was absolutely running the table over and that table was the toughest table I had during my whole stay. What I can also tell you on that table was a really strong online pro without live experience so technically I'm pretty sure there were at least 2 player better then him. But he made me think how much can we from online relate to live? I mean online long term makes a lot of sense but live probably it does if you sit at your casino with always the same players but in general it doesn't really matter too much IMO. Like in 8 hours I might have played 240 hands which is like 4 tabling regular tables for 1h. So how often will the same spot really come up vs the same player(key as live players have way more various playing styles) so we can talk about the long term? I personally think it's much more about the moment(metagame - tells & reads),especially because it's mentally challenging. Also I didn't think that the meta game section has such a high impact on 1 WR but now after seeing it I believe it even more worth then actually your top notch strategy. For example if I bluff the R with the exact frequencies that I studied in my GTO solver and I think I'm super balanced I might not because I'm giving off a read or a tell. So go from super balanced in my mind to super imbalanced in practice vs my opponent. Anyway I really loved the psychological/meta game part of the game and I believe live MTT's should have a way higher ROI opposed to online. Also I noticed that live poker is so super boring when people don't interact. I mean I was literally dying until at the tables came a fun player that was chatty because all the bad or online pros seem to be quite and make the whole experience so draining. I even talked to fun player that said that poker is getting more boring every year and the social aspect is at times non present. He said he comes to play poker just to have fun and I got the feeling that at PLO tables people were having way more fun. I have to say not only you can gain a edge by talking you can improve your social skills and also make your long hours more enjoyable. This live pro that was crushing the tables was super talkative and seem to get along with everyone. That is something I will make my goal for my future live ventures as I plan to play at least once every 3 months because sooner or later live will be more profitable then online and I want to be somewhat prepared for this possible future scenario.
Before getting into the 2nd part I will leave the pics for the 2 months:

So I finished the challenge and because of that I will leave and overall graph, although I have no idea how many hands are missing:

So basically in 2016 I made 194k$ of profit post RB in approx. 1170 hours of playing. It was my best year money wise but generally mixed feelings about my development. Personally I think it has been the worst year in terms of development but I guess that now doesn't even matter. After all I have to concentrate on the future and now we come to the second point that I already mentioned above.
Since I improved my game drastically in September I decided that from this year(exactly somewhere mid January and the occasional play) I will try to play only NL1k+(here and there 600 based on action). I think this time for me to go for the HS shot and see where it will take me. So if I have to decide for a goal in 2017 it will be to become a consistent winner at NL1k+.
Not sure if I will blog about this part of my adventure but anyway TX for following till here and GL for the future!

Congrats on completing the challenge. Please consider keeping the blog. This one is one of the only left that i enjoy reading. Especially when you talk about the struggles we all face as pokerplayers or when you write about your projects with poker $. Are you considering ways to diversify your income streams?
I always thought that live poker was the way to go after my online career but after putting 200hr/month in the US last year i found that it isn't for me. You are 100% correct that if you don't socialize is super boring but i think that unless you are playing some sick stakes with CEOs the people you met in... let's say NL1000 in Las Vegas is not the most interesting in the world.
Have you ever consider other options that poker offers? Staking? Maybe a poker stable?.
