What is the reason to check on flop? You are the PFA and board hits you...

We indeed should stab OTF. Actually, when the A hits the flop, we almost always should bet unless villain is super tight and it hits the board villain more than it hits you.

As played, fold OTR.

I have to disagree with you guys. We are playing OOP and it makes things a bit difficult.

1) It doesn't matter if the board hits us better when we don't have a good hand.
2) We probably are not going to get 3 streets of value anyway
3) Our hand does very well against villains folding range so we want villain to keep playing with those hands
4) On this board villain isn't likely to outdraw us (if he has a weaker hand, he is probably not going to improve it often)

I like keeping some semi strong hands in our check calling range when OOP instead of betting too much. Against villains calling range we are often behind. When we are in a 3bet pot and villain has a lot of Ax hands in his range, our KK is a bluffcatcher.

I like the way this hand was played and I checked this with Snowie and it would play the hand same way. Snowie could also donk the turn or check raise the turn but the EV of those lines are very similar than just check calling.

You have every right to disagree but this doesn't mean that you are right.
I prefer to bet myself and lose only this bet then not know where we are if he starts betting and lose 9.40.
And I do not agree that we should not bet on flops that hit us.

I like how the hand played out. I don't like clicking the call button on the river but I think we have to.

nitrol can provide his preference but it doesn't mean he is right :f_p:

To bet yourself only to avoid an uncomfortable situation later feels a bit of a weak reason. It is a close spot and betting and checking are likely very similar in EV, maybe snowie could estimate this for us. The fact is we have 2nd PP on an A-high flop and we either (1) overvalue our hand and bet too often (and weaken our own checking range) and get snapped by TP or fold out everything that we beat, or we (2) check/call too far and run into villain's value range. It isn't a great situation whatever we do.

As it is not a great situation I prefer betting myself.
I do not say this is right. I just say what my preference is.

Okay here's my two pence worth - the Ace on the turn is a very unlucky card for you. If the turn is a brick and it's check bet on turn and check bet on river I think this is a very strong line from the villian and a fold for you, but the Ace turn makes bluffs a wider part of his range - tough spot.

You are right. The difference isn't big. Betting is not a terrible idea but overall I just prefer checking more :)

It's more than I expected, 1.68bb is quite a significant amount in terms of EV! (is this in bb?)

The thing is, if we are going down the route of "I'll bet this board because it hits my range well", then we are thinking at a level where we should also consider our checking range. If we consider our checking range in this spot, when we have KK in our betting range our checking range is considerably weaker and villain will have a very profitable stab IP because we will not be defending our checks enough. That's pretty bad imo, that's why I like checking with some stronger hands and KK as well. At least if you expect villain to try and exploit you for checking. If not then it's even better to check with KK because we can pot control very effectively.

I think the turned A isn't so terrible because it makes it less likely he has it... right?

Yes I believe it is in BB.
Turn is not that terrible because 1) any of villains hands didn't just outdraw us, if villain hit he was already ahead 2) it makes his Ax less likely

I also like the idea of balancing your range and indeed sometimes x with a marginal-strong hand. I believe w34z3l also prefers this in his videos.

I think a check on the flop is totally fine. SBvsBB should be your widest 3bet spot so you get here with a lot of hands. If you have any checks otf, KK is the first hand to check, because it is on of the clearest way ahead way behind situations. If you decide to cbet with all hands on that flop, you should use a very small size like 25%-35% of the pot, s.t. KK gets value from some weak floats.

As played t+r are clear calls. I can't imagine you are ever getting to the river with a better hand than KK. Villain has a tiny fold to 3bet and a moderately high AF. I can't imagine he is taking this line without any bluffs. Only reason I can see to fold, is that you are holding the Ks which villain will hold in a lot of bluffs.

Do you really prefer checking with A3s?

I bow to your better judgement however just to claify would you consider the following statement:

Does the A turn make his range of bluffs wider and make a call more viable on turn and river. Should the turn be a brick it makes the Ace more likely and thus makes it more of a fold on the river?
