like the timetable, I was thinking of doing something similar but ended up with journal type of data tracking on how productive I am on daily basis... Lunch part got me smiling... how about breakfast and dinner ? even machines need to change oils from time to time :DD best of luck in '17 year of rooster is ours!

I was printing my breakfast time at fixed 7 a.m. in the past, but it was a time when I was playing only cash games _biggrin: Now, then I switched to tournaments, it is impossible to calculate which hour you wake up, warm-up and take breakfast. It all depends if late night tournament session was successful or not :f_grin: But as general, breakfast and dinner is a must, it just varies by time in my schedule. And lunch time is always the same, no matter when I get up :f_cool:

Another Monday has come and it's time to overlook if the last week was successful or not :f_eek:

Week 17
MTT Hands 3291
Spins played 183

Profit 454 €
Total bankroll 12 400 €
Previous bankroll 11 946 €
Starting bankroll 3 000 €
Target bankroll 15 000 €

I'm still on my bankroll challenge, and I hope it will be completed this month. 2600€ in 3 weeks is challenging but possible. I just need to Spin x500 multiplier :f_biggrin:

As for current week goals:
1. 20 hours MTT
2. 10 hours Spin&Go
3. 4h PokerStrategy Video
4. Shape year of 2017 Goals
5. 4 hours on Forums/News
6. Play 1 Live event
7. Watch Live PokerStars Bahamas Final Table (cards up
)

Now that I have pasted those tasks in public, I can't be lazy and not complete them :f_thumbsup:

Good day fellas _thumbsup:

Today I finished the last PokerStrategy Video about Goal Setting, so it's time to form my own Goals for the 2017.

Firstly, why do we need goals?
One quote says it all

You don't want Your ship to drift in an open ocean. You take control of Your life/ship and float it to the most beautiful island. And whenever You are lost, there is always a North Star (Your Goals), which returns You to the Main Path and brings Your motivation back.

What Goals should I make?
I'm a big fan of PokerStrategy coach Primoz Bozic a.k.a. Schnitzelfisch, who suggest to use Your Lifetime Vision statement as a guide for creating goals.

This is my own hanging on the wall, which is the 1st thing I read every morning. Now I "only" have to divide it in some parts and make goals from it.

A) To have a job that I enjoy and to become icon in it
Online Poker sometimes could be dull but everything changes when it switches to Live Events, especially if You have an opportunity to travel abroad. Last Year I visited 6 countries, so I should aim a bit higher on 2017. I believe 8 trips would do the trick, as I already have won 3 already. According to SMART, it covers all details - Specific (Poker trip), Measurable (8 times), Achievable (Progressing from 6 to 8), Relevant (Gives me joy, motivation and potential €€€), Time-bound (1 year).
What obstacles might I face on this? Well, I mostly play at MicroGaming network, which only has 4 Live stops a year. I should examine some other sites only for packages, as I don't want to buy a full price for it. Potentially PokerStars festivals or Unibet is on my list now, but I will look for more information on this. Other threat is if my game declines and I start losing money at poker. It correlates greatly with my 2nd goal of the year, which is to become Icon in my job.
So how to form those words into SMART goal?
According to SharkScope I got a Silver star at MicroGaming finishing in Top30 of the year by profit. The next step would be Gold star, which is provided for Top5. Challenge accepted, let's aim for Top5 Tournament Player at MicroGaming network! According to SharkScope, the 5th player earned 26k in 2016, so I believe something around 30k could be enough for 2017 as well. Is it achievable? I began playing only in summer starting from 0 and finished at 20k, so hell yes!
However, this goal is quite variance dependent, so I need one for a volume too. Last year I failed to reach BlackMember here, so why not try it again? I made a quick calculation and realized that playing Spins for 2 hours day, should be enough to reach my goal. It would help my game on tournaments as well, as so many spots for 10-20BB (which is most common in Spins) are the most critical in tournaments. Seams like Win/Win :f_cool:
Obstacles for this? Failing to put enough hours. So I endeavor myself to Grind those 2 hours in the morning, basically including it in my morning routine. If I complete this task before lunchtime, I could easily prepare myself for the evening MTT sessions.
My elixir for achieving great results is Everlasting studying of Poker Theory. I want this to include into my yearly goals, but it's quite difficult to evaluate your quality and quantity of studying. I will only mark this goal completed if I watch all psychology videos at PokerStrategy, as I divide it 50/50 time on Gameplay Videos and Psychology Videos. Last year I failed it, because I didn't have a reminder for it. Cure? On every 1st day of the month I will evaluate how I'm succeeding at my Goals so I don't forget any of them :f_wink:

This concludes my "Poker goals", but there are plenty left for my general life _cool:

B) I want to nurture a happy family
For me "A happy family" is a loved wife with sweet kids, cozy home, feeling safe and joyful. Seems simple but yet so many people fail to reach that. I'm in relationship with a wonderful girl, and although we don't have kids and we are not married yet, we are going into that direction _love: After poker success in 2016, I finally decided to empty my bank accounts and buy a cottage. 3 months ago it only had 4 walls, but now it is starting to get a shape of "Perfect home". So my goal in this area is to fully equip the home for an ordinary life. That means not only have the walls painted, but arrange everything like in a hotel _grin:
Obstacles? Money. To be precise, the lack of Money _biggrin: As the constructions is still taking place, I do have some €€€ for the upcoming months, but not until the end of the year. Solution - Keep on grinding and keep on winning _thumbsup: Kind of pressure, but at the worst scenario I will have to sleep on the ground and pee through my window. I can take that risk _ugly:

C) To maintain a strong relationship with my parents, brother and friends
Although it's a must to include this into my yearly goals, I can't find a way, hot to measure it. For me boosting a friendship is not an increased number of friends on facebook, but rather taking care and being with a phew of them. I know that weekend days are the most profitable for playing poker, but I'd rather spend a Friday evening with friends than playing with chips. Another way to keeping relationships is to invite them to poke trips, as the packages are gifted for 2 persons at least. For the record, there is MPN Vienna event in 2 weeks, where I go with my parents. Not the worst present for raising a brilliant kid _p:

D) To hold a healthy body through physical exercise
As from sports background, I understand how a good physical preparation is important in your life. In the morning, I do a 15-20 minutes warm-up outside (inside if it is freaking cold like now), and in the evening I take some kind of longer activity, either a football training session, total body workout or a simple run. I want to keep this plan and increase some muscles on my arms and chest. So the goal - increase weight from 82 kg to 87 kg. Obstacle? Increasing weight not on chest, but on the belly _drink: I guess I won't start drinking beer soon..

E) To hold a healthy body through proper nutrition
Same as taking sports, a healthy food is vital for good results and quality of life. I'm satisfied with this part of life, but some improvements could be made. Sometimes I'm too lazy to make myself a champions breakfast and the energy levels for the day are not sufficient then. Therefore, I will keep record on my daily meal plan, and everyday I have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will give myself a point if I beat this trio 25 times a month.

F) Always perform my best whatever I do
It is a broad expression which suits to all areas of life. However, I will pinpoint one, in which I was working passionately last year. It's my creation of Football Club Top Kickers! Last season we made a debut in the Lithuanian VII League and instantly won a promotion by finishing 3rd. I'm very optimistic this year as well, but I'm not sure if we could aim for one more promotion in a stronger league. Before creating the club, I had a mission to go higher every 3 years (1st year avoid relegation, 2nd year finish in a middle position, 3rd year fight for promotion). However, I do believe we are strong enough to finish in Top5, so I skip 1 year _cool:
Obstacles. Weak start, aging players, lack of funds. Verdict? Have an intense pre-season training sessions; sign couple of youngsters; find a sponsor. Of course there are more potential threats lurking around and even more possible ways to sort it out, but these look like the most important tasks to complete in order to achieve this goal :f_thumbsup:

G) Read 12 books
I definitely should update my vision as books help to sharpen your mind. I saw that the Genius itself Fedor Holz made himself a challenge to read 40 books in couple of months (Of course he has enough time as he is retired now :f_biggrin:) and that only shows the importance of it. Last year I completed this goal, and I believe 1 book/1 month ratio is fair enough.
Obstacles. Only the lack of time or deficit of valuable books, but I always find 1 hour a day in the morning and I plan to maintain this routine.

So that concludes my 10 Goals for year 2017! It took me 3 hours to write this essay-post, but I do believe that every minute spent will bring me more motivation and strength to reach them. On every 1st day of the month I will update the progress of my journey, so I would stay in the Racing Line for the whole year.

Let's start the engine, it's going to be a fun ride :sfishg:

I would definitely suggest "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". What is Your list so far?

So far the list is quite short
1)Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman
2) Power Of Habit by Charles Duhigg
3) Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

I started from the bottom of the list and slowly increased the difficulty of the books and Thinking Fast and Slow is for sure the most difficult book to understand, but that is definitely the most valuable book that I have ever read, I will need to read it few more times to really comprehend the stuff and concepts that author is talking about, but I like the subject of psychology, to see and understand the things most people are doing wrong, their biases, and heuristics and in that way improve myself by having an understanding of such difficult subject that I was not previously aware of.

If you are interested in the Flow state or as we poker players call it The Zone I can suggest reading Steven Kotler "The Rise of Superman" it's about how extreme athletes have been hacking and using this flow states for several decades now, their techniques and just cool stories, if you have ever wondered about competitions or records in Skateboard, Snowboard, Surfing, base jumping, kayaking and few others or you like any of those sports, recommend to check it out.

Last week review:

1. 20 hours MTT - only 15
2. 10 hours Spin&Go - 12 hours
3. 4h PokerStrategy Video - 4h
4. Shape year of 2017 Goals - done
5. 4 hours on Forums/News - 4 h
6. Play 1 Live event - 1 event

7. Watch Live PokerStars Bahamas Final Table (cards up) - missed

I've missed one session and Final Table coverage. Excuse - my dad's birthday. Not feeling guilty as I made social life a priority over poker.

As for the next week, I have last 7 days to prepare for MPN Vienna event. Nothing extra-ordinary, but one session will be sacrificed for a Live Play.

1. 15 hours MTT
2. 10 hours Spin & GO
3. 2 hours Psychology Video
4. 2 hours Theory Video
5. 4 hours on Forums/News
6. Play 2 Live events
7. Review 1 tournament

Weekly Review

First, Bankroll Challenge

Week 19
MTT Hands 3853
Spins played 234
Profit (loss) 1747 €

Total bankroll 12 900 €
Previous bankroll 11 153 €
Starting bankroll 3 000 €
Target bankroll 15 000 €

Mostly € came from Live Tournament win, but some portion added from Sunday grind. Spins breakeven though :f_eek:

Weekly tasks:
1. 15 hours MTT - only 13 hours
2. 10 hours Spin & GO - 12 hours
3. 2 hours Psychology Video - a bit more
4. 2 hours Theory Video - matched

5. 4 hours on Forums/News - only 3 hours
6. Play 2 Live events - mastered
7. Review 1 tournament - partly

I was a bit sick this week, so I didn't want to push myself to the maximum. Didn't register for the late night tournaments in order to feel fresh for the next days and seems like it was a good decision. Now for the next week my schedule mostly depends on how I'm doing in the Main Event. I hope to play only one that event till the end, so no distractions on sides :f_ugly:

1. Watch PokerStars Bahamas on my bus trip to Vienna - 9 hours
2. 2 hours PokerStrategy Video before Live Tournament Play
3. Reach PokerStars Gold status before the trip (around 4 hours probably)
4. 3 hours PokerNews/forums
5. Bring trophey to Lithuania _cool:

Not many tasks this week, but aiming for quality over quantity.
Gode mode on :sfishy:

Day 1 just finished and I have 116k. Average around 90k, so still good position to show some magic :) overall the day was quite tough as many German\austrian pros are seen in the field (thankyou Pokerstrategy), but a 5 minute rush allowed me to build some towers :) will update tomorrow with the progress!

Didnt survive long. Finally got Aces for a 1st time in a tourney and was punished by pocket tens, which flopped a set. Pitty as my stack was constantly growing until that hand :\
