Now take this:

Pacific No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (9 Spieler) - Pacific Converter Tool from http://de.flopturnriver.com/

BB (t1,500)
UTG (t1,500)

MP2 (t1,500)
MP3 (t1,500)
CO (t1,500)
Button (t1,500)
SB (t1,500)

Hero's M: 50.00

Turn: (t3,030) 9 (2 Spieler, 2 all-in)

River: (t3,030) 7 (2 Spieler, 2 all-in)

Gesamt Pot: t3,030

Ergebnisse :

Spoiler

Button hat 10, 6 (straight, ten high).
Hero hat K, K (one pair, Kings).
Ergebnis: Button gewinnt t3,030

This was the first hand of a 5$ SNG. No playmoney. No 10 cent buyin. 5$. Did you see what that person did? When I saw it, I was so disgusted that I had to interrupt my session. That subject just pushed it all in with literally NOTHING. Its equity on the flop was 5%. And the donkey got rewarded indeed. The next 19 out of 20 times when it does that against other regs it will get punished but when it did that against me it got rewarded. Unbelievable.

I have three questions:

1. Why did the donkey flatcall preflop?
2. Why did the donkey shove on the flop?
3. Why did the donkey get rewarded.

It made me so sick I almost had to vomit...

1. Because he is a donky (When the weather man forecast rain and it rains are you surprised? No When a donky acts like a donky should you be surprised? No

2. Because he is a donky

3. This is a losing spot for the donky. Instead of focusing on the results of one single hand focus on the long term out come. This is a very profitable situation for you in the long run. You should check out The book called"The mental game of Poker" There is a chapter in the book that deals with entitlement tilt and injustices tilt

Of course you are right and I am well aware of these longterm considerations. However, that particular donkey was dirty and nasty indeed! Dirty and nasty...

Exactly! And exactly what is written in "The Mental Game of Poker" (Jared Tandler).

Noname81, thank you for perfectly taking the words out of my mouth! _thumbsup:

888 sounds really tempting by the way: such :f_ugly: at the 5€ levels? mmmmh, yummy! _evil:

The donkeys on 888 sometimes like colluding at the bubble. For example one donkey pushes into another and it does not call although getting odds like 4:1 or even better. It has already happened more than once that I busted out at the bubble because of some donkey failing to make a more than obvious any2 call, thus allowing another donkey to more than double up without a showdown... Situations like these fill me up with disgust...

Cheers.

Donks do not think about pot odds. This statement is a oxymoron

I have read through some psychology articles from ps.de about tilt caused by donkeys and their nasti- and braindeadness... Basically they say the same things that some of you guys have already pointed out before and that I am intellectually well aware of... Due to mathematical probabilities the donkeys MUST win once in a while... Getting sucked out by donkeys regularly is inevitable, yet at the long run we are the ones making profit... Donkeys would lose their interest in playing if their trash hands always lost, so poker-economy-wise one should be happy when a donkey wins with a crappy play and congratulate it on its win... All these things are 100% plausible and and make perfect sense to me...

However: Donkeys are sooo soooo sooo nasty!!!!!! _evil:_evil:_evil:_evil:_evil:_evil:_evil:

I don´t think it´s collusion when they fold getting even 4:1 ---> they just don´t know! They are called "donkeys" because they have no clue, no knowledge at all. They don´t know about pot odds, hand strenghts, hand ranges, probabilities, equities. They just play for fun. They want action, they wanna have fun and they wonder why they loose. They are not willing to study theory. When they loose with their bad hands because of bad calls they think it was "bad luck". Don´t expect too much of them.

Wow, how many times did I get called on the bubble by people holding very "exotic" hands? :f_biggrin: You cannot put pressure on them, because they often think their hand is good.

Be aware of that!

I will respond to this in one of your own threads sir, so as not to further polute and clutter Prims' worthwhile blog

If my postings in this blog should have been perceived as "pollutive" by anybody, I apologise. I enjoy reading through this blog once in a while, taking part in a fellow German grinder's experiences at the tables... I thought this blog was all about getting into contact with fellow poker and especially SNG enthusiasts and having an exchange...

I think this is an important discussion for everyone about how to cope with :f_ugly: :f_ugly:

What I would suggest to all those who have difficulties loosing money to :f_ugly: is a tight BRM! Just take money to the tables you easily can loose.

Anyways, whining is not the solution. It even makes it worse! Eventually everbody has to find his/her way to cope with bad beats, coolers and with loosing money. Most of us are no pros; so why not see poker as a nice hobby? We grind up as far as we can, we do our best and whatever will be will be...? (I personally do not intend to go pro anyway, would never give up writing!)

So, finally finished this stupid project and could play poker after work. Played 22 SnGs/DONs, running far below my EV: about 4 buy-ins down. Wow, beeing at the 2.20€ and playing mainly SnGs the swings get a bit bigger. I played correct poker so nothing to worry about. Jammed 4 times into kings, got a lot of very bad cards (unplayable hands like 3♥ 9♠) and lost most of my (correct!) All-ins.

It´s good to know that still on the 2.20€´s you see a lot of very bad calls, many players still cannot fold pocket pairs, suited aces or any two face cards even at the bubble. So it´s gonna be quite profitable as soon as my hands hold.... _biggrin:

What is tilting me is Poker Tracker! I don´t know why but suddenly it stopped displaying hands. You can see the results but not the hands. :wtf::fouet: I didn´t do anything just realized today that there are no hands imported or displayed....? Very strange!

Lunch break update

PT4 problem is solved. I just reconfigured the import folders, somehow there was something wrong.

Hand review from my ugly session yesterday:

*mostly normal ICM pushes and normal ICM calls from Villain ---> I just lost the hands.

*ICM push ran into KK in the BB (push was correct, bad luck)

*overplayed guess-what twice :f_ugly:

*1 wrong push as desperate shorty (had no decent hand before)

Note to myself: Less desperate pushes, more caution as short stack.

I think it is a fairly common leak among many regs to push too loose as a shortie...
