You´re just too negative. That´s sad. Suck outs at the bubble just happen, you can´t do anything about them. In poker they just happen, it´s part of its statistics. Tilting is not good. Have you ever tried meditation or studying the math of poker? I would strongly recommend you that. Read the book "The Mental Game of Poker" - it opens eyes! There´s no reason to tilt. Loosing is part of poker, it happens over and over again. To all of us. And we all have to deal with downswings, suck outs, losses, long streaks of bad cards.

By the way: I have less problems with dealing with suck outs than with long long streaks of bad cards. That´s what I personally don´t like at all. :f_biggrin:

I am totally fine with suckouts that occur after villain made a correct call...

I only really hate it when donkeys suck out and when there is collusion going on. I am well aware of the Math behind poker

Oh yeah totally needless, anyone knows you wouldn't lose your time with that shit if not ;)

Most of the times the people doing this are from Eastern European countries...

Come on, now you are openly racist !!! 8-o

this really looks like some mafia organisation to me.

Sure, I mean, it's always like this that it begins in Cronenberg's movies, right ? Those bad guys from the east playing SNG 5e and before you know there's mass murders and ugly human trafficking... What is Interpol even doing ?!! :]

This is actually even way more tilting than getting sucked out at the bubble holding pocket aces...

Well, you hadn't been complaining about that lately so I guess you had to find something else... :P

Sorry but I prefer to laugh about it and sometimes it might even be the best "cure" for you to see somebody turn it into absurd.
Oh and as a french your pseudo ring my ears : what is "tifan" ?

Ok, I see the point you are trying to make with your post and I can comprehend most of what you wrote. But accusing me of being racist? Come on, you cannot be serious about that? This accusation is so totally out of line. I have nothing against guys from Eastern Europe, my best friend since school times is actually from Kosovo...

It is just a simple fact that whenever I witnessed bubble-plays that reminded me of collusion (like having a bigstack raising and then folding to a shortie reshove getting 4:1 odds or better) they guys involved were from Eastern Europe. If they had always been from Germany (my own home country) I would have stated that as well. It is a simple observation and not an expression of my political attitude or whatever...

Anyways, tilt is no solution. It makes everything even worse.

So let´s get back to SnG and my pretty pretty paintings. Just made a couple of those: pushing and calling ranges ITM, at the bubble, with 5 and 6 players left with similar stacks. Looks pretty! :f_love:

Afternoon session: SnG time

Got up early and could finish my work quickly. So I could play a nice afernoon-session. Played 30 tourneys, mainly 2.20 € 9-max SnGs, of which the last 6 didn´t go well, but I shouldn´t be greedy! _biggrin: Made a nice winning, that´s fine! So no complaining _biggrin:.

Actually we all should complain and spit (me) less in this blog, don´t you think? _biggrin:

Hey, I find it so cool and exciting that you played live together with Collin Moshman! Would love to be offered the same chance some day. :) Guess I should more or less solve my tilt problem until then lest I shock everyone following the stream with my outbursts on the donkeys

Has your session with Collin been recorded and is there any chance to watch it?

I think yes but don´t know where it is.

And if you work on your game and your tilt problem you will see the results soon! _thumbsup:

SnG/DON time

Had again a nice session today, the first SnGs were not so nice (bad cards) but then it went quite good. Couldn´t win a SnG today, lost a lot of 60:40 and 70:30 hands and got second and once third. Won most of my DONs so that I came out with some nice plus.

On the Microgaming network, a lovely message used to be displayed in the lobby description of Double Up SnGs (i.e. DONs). Alas it has recently been replaced by a more serious message, so let me quote the description that used to be given in 2016:

Warning: Double Up SNGs require advanced strategy and are not recommended for beginners. If drowsiness or pain persists please see your Doctor.

That sums up my attitude quite well :f_biggrin:

I'd rather stick to the advice that IvicaIliev77 gave you in his blog - learn those game formats that are popular enough even at the midstakes, so that you don't have to relearn when you move up. Learning takes a lot of time and effort so try to avoid having to go through the whole learning curve twice.

Considering that you're into low-variance STTs, I suggest that you learn Pokerstars' 6-man superknockouts - they have a rather flat payout structure too but, unlike DONs and Fifty50s, they're loved by recreationals so there's more chance of achieving a decent hourly winrate ($50 an hour or so) there - a grinder who mixes the $25 and $50 stakes can get quite enough tables going at peak hours, or fewer but much softer tables at semi-off-peak hours. And surprisingly, the rake for specifically 6-man super-KOs is low enough (8% at the $1 level but 6% at $3, 4.8% at $5, 4.2% at $10, 3.92% at $25-50) unlike in Stars' other new games.

The fact that these STTs are hyper doesn't matter as much as you'd assume - the average downswing size in STTs in terms of BIs is inversely proportional to the ROI but the ROI isn't exactly inversely proportional to the speed - a hyper STT with a soft lineup can give a higher ROI than a turbo non-KO STT full of well-trained regs.

E.g. right now (at a semi-off-peak hour) the average lineup of a $25-50 6-man KO looks like 2 regs + 2 semi-regs + 2 recs to me (let Stars regs correct me if I'm wrong), though I don't really know who's a reg and who's not because I don't play at Stars almost at all - I've simply scanned the lobby and seen how many tables each player is at - and this kind of a lineup is already considered soft enough for the midstakes considering that Spin & Gos stole almost all the recs from STTs in 2014 and 5-6-reg lineups in 6-mans weren't uncommon.

Collin's video on 6-man KOs is a decent start, but there's not much theory on them yet so you'll have to work it out yourself with tools like Holdemresources Calculator. However, when you do, you'll start earning decent money by beating recreationals as well as lazier regs who don't use their own brains and can't play well because no coach has been able to spoonfeed them with precalculated strategies.

Thank you, tony! I will check out those. At the moment I only play on Partypoker, have my whole BR there and I´m tracked there. But as for the DONs: Yes. I just noticed it today: should call my doctor, drowsiness set in. And I lost the respect of the lower buy-ins, oh oh! I have been playing DONs for a while and they are getting boring. You can use SnG strategy there it works well or even LAG style.

At the moment I´m playing mainly 2.20€ 9-max SnGs and 1.10€ SnGs (6 and 9 max). They are full of recreational players.

Did only a small session today: my mindset is very bad and I didn´t play well. Tried to fix it somehow but this time it didn´t work so I quit after 15 SnGs. Won 85 cents :f_ugly:. I don´t know what´s the matter with me today I guess it´s the hunger (remember? going down to race weight). Just can´t fix my mindset, can´t inject logic at the moment, don´t have the patience I normally have. So it´s better to quit for today. _frown:

Yep! Blood sugar level dropped! Work out was hard and lunch too small. Was craving for sweets afterwards (but didn´t eat any).

Don't touch candies, eat an apple instead :f_wink:

As for Party, the game that allows for the highest hourly on that network is surely SnG Hero, and it's strategically complex enough so will allow for a longterm sustainable edge if one studies it hard, but I consider it slightly inferior to other networks' options for historical reasons.

Namely, the people who're making good money at the $20 SnG Hero seem to be mainly former mass-multitabling regs of Stars $30-60 Spin & Gos. The reason why they moved to Party is the removal of milestone rewards and Supernova Elite, of which Party made a good use in the first half of 2016 by advertising both lower rake and better rakeback than Stars' when the market situation was calling for this promotional push.

I guess, they're weaker at poker on average than those regs who have chosen to stay at Stars and improve their skills for the long term at the cost of a reduction of their short-term profits, but the Party regs are still way too strong for a $20 game, or at least, they're strong enough to make it hard to profit against them and they play at 4 tables each (the maximum allowed number because 1 Hero table counts as 4 towards the general limit of 18 tourney tables), which results in a worse fish-to-reg ratio at the tables.

Besides, Party has had a big presence in the Eastern European countries, and the players from there are notoriously good at poker on average.
