Hi all, I would like to seek your comments for the following hands on the way I played it.
Hand 1: Live House Game $0.50/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 7 players
Hero (MP): $50.00
CO: $95.50
Villain (BTN): $240.50
SB: $340.50
BB: $95.00
UTG: $120.00
UTG+1: $65.00
Pre Flop: ($1) Hero is UTG+2 with K ♠ Q ♠
UTG raises to $2.50, UTG+1 calls $2.50, Hero calls $2.50, CO calls $2.50, BTN raises $10.00, SB calls $9.50, BB calls $9.50, UTG calls $7.50, UTG+1 calls $7.50, Hero raises $41.00 and is all-in...
I would need to provide a little context here. BTN has been 3betting frequently from late positions (i estimated about every 12 hands). There was once i saw that he was 3 betting with 10 ♦: 6:d:. Reason being that the player on his direct right was a fish and he was frequently trying to isolate him.
Hand 2: Live House Game $0.50/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
Hero (BTN): $50.00
CO: $42.50
SB: $97.50
BB: $150.00
Villain (UTG): $240.00
UTG+1: $120.00
Preflop: UTG raises 4. UTG+1 folds. CO folds. Hero calls 4. SB folds. BB calls 3.50
Flop (12.50): Q ♦ 8:c 2:c
BB checks. UTG bets 7.50. Hero calls 7.50. BB calls 7.50.
Explanation: Had played a previous hand with UTG villain. He barreled with A9o (no spade) on a K-high board (with 2 spades) without any draws. My rationale for calling was that BB and UTG are loose players (plays 3 out of 6 hands every orbit) and that I was likely to be ahead of UTG's range. Also, UTG typically bets larger with his made hands (like 75% pot) and lower with air/draw hands. When BB called, I put him on a range such as flush draw and middle pair type hands.
Turn (27.50): Q ♦ 8:c 2:c T:h
UTG bets 15. Hero calls 15. BB calls 15.
Explanation: At this point, I turned double gutter with 1 overcard (which I also think was good as villain's betting suggested he has a top pair type hand only). Calling 15 to win 57.50 (3.8:1; or 26% of pot after calling). With my 4+4+3 outs (had about 24% equity) or worst case BB had flush draw (8 outs; 18% equity), I called as I thought UTG is likely to stack off when I made my hand as he overcalled a few times (he had called with middle-pair top kicker) when I shoved on the previous hands with my middle pair and flush draw.
River (72.50): Q ♦ 8:c 2:c T:h 6:d
Check all round. Showdown villain had QJo. (Top pair).
Explanation: Based on action and bet sizing, I put villain on top pair and likely he will call my river shove as my stack was only 23.50. Hence, just check.
