I don't have such earnings at poker to be able of moving + I have a very good job which I love doing with a decent salary so poker is just a hobby and a side source of income for me + I have a wife which is working here. Living exclusively from poker is not my thing and that's actually not my goal. But I totaly support someone like you, who is able to make it, to follow his dreams. :f_thumbsup:

I also agree that it's better to keep it as a hobby (that of course hopefully will pay off in the end) for most players. I have also put that in my blog since to be a professional poker player is a whole different thing even from what we are doing now. I don't say someone is not ready but I do say one has to make certain decisions in life that could be rigorous. It is like starting an own business but you are dependent and tightened on governmental regulations. I think even when I would somehow make it in the game (then I'm talking about life changing money) I'd still do something aside from poker but perhaps more related to it of course.

Anyway, GL at the tables

Cheers,

Hesticus :f_drink:

The Blog Job update:

Progress:
Volume: 22629 hands (goal: 20000) :appl:
Winrate: 3,58 bb/100 (goal: 5) :fouet:

I finally managed to jump into profit at NL100 (NL16 equivalent) in 9k hands. Winrate there is 1 bb/100 for now and I hope it will be better and better. At NL50 (like NL10 equivalent) it's 15,88 bb/100. Since players are really really bad and lose preflop and postflop, I stopped to use my Stars NL25 ranges and started to use my old (w34z3l's) ranges because I guess I need to be tighter. Also changed my opensizes from 2,5bb to 3bb (2 to 2,5 on the BTN). Hopefully I will soon start to play NL200 (equivalent to NL25), but I told myself I will grow my bankroll on this new room first to 3.000 HRK (it's 2.500 now). The bad thing is that there is not alot of traffic at NL200.

Here is the report for Get Rich or Die Tryin' - The Bankroll Challenge:

Starting bankroll: 1.061,04 USD
Targeting bankroll: 5.305,20 USD
Last week bankroll: 2.520,31 USD
-------------------------------------------------------------
Week 110
Hands: 8.537
Profit: 151,41 USD
Withdrawing fees and currency exchange rates: -32,46 USD
Rakeback: 0,00 USD
Week 110 profit: 118,95 USD
Week 110 progress: 4,72%
Current bankroll: 2.639,26 USD
-------------------------------------------------------------
Overall profit: 1.578,22 USD
Overall progress: 37,19%

The things started to look a bit better this week. :f_thumbsup: Although I withdrawed some money from Skrill and converted it from USD to HRK (and deposited that money to SuperSport - Croatian poker room), which caused some costs in terms of fees and currency exchange rates, I still managed to spike some profit. Results on SuperSport started to change in my favour and I'm now in profit of ~140 USD there, which is not bad since I've played just 10 days there, had some variance issues at the beginning and am still not playing the limit I should play according to my bankroll (I play ~14 USD tables and should play ~28 USD tables).

The Blog Job update:

Progress:
Volume: 23406 hands (goal: 20000) :appl:
Winrate: 5,51 bb/100 (goal: 5) :appl: (Let's keep it that way untill the end of challenge!!)

Had a terrific session yesterday with 62 bb/100 in 777 hands, so the overall winrate jumped over required 5 bb/100. The players were simply donating money to me. I haven't seen something like this ever. Players throwing all in every hand are practically non-existing on PokerStars NL25, which I'm used to. For example, the guy opened, I 3bet with KK and he pushed:

The same guy, the next hand. I open raised, he pushed all in:

I think I adopted to their style by being a bit tighter preflop and value betting/raising a thon postflop. I also have a feeling that auto-profit situations that I was used to on Stars still aplies on SuperSport (like they are folding way too much when they check as preflop raisers etc.), but I can't confirm it since I don't have any statystics.

Since I moved to SuperSport and there is a very bad traffic, especially untill evenings, I consider to take 888 as my second room at one point (or first, whatever you call it). I consider this because a) There is probably a smaller difference between 888 player pool and SuperSport player pool that between PokerStars and SuperSport, b) From what I've seen so far, 888 could be alot more profitable than PokerStars because of worse player pool, despite of a bit higher rake, c) I'm used to poor software now with SuperSport experience and d) The most important thing for me right now is to make as much money as possible to reach my yearly goal of 4K bankroll and my ultimate goal (at least for now) is NL50 which I'm very close to and might be that I could be a winner allready at 888 NL50.

What would you say about 888 or PokerStars dilema for someone who plays cash? Do any of you have any information/experience on this matter?

Yes, I play at 888 and in my opinion is that there are more fish but I am still playing NL5 and probably will stay there for a while. However, I do have sometimes some second thoughts about randomization with cards and certain villains. I would just try it for a month and if you don't like it just try out another room. In the end I prefer playing at 888 above PokerStars because I have a flat winrate and I need some AI situations where I am 90% of the time favorite against a fish to get at least some profit :f_drink:

Hope this helps a bit and look forward to some other opinions as well :f_thumbsup:

Cheers,

Hesticus

Thanks Hesticus! :f_drink:

I will maybe switch to 888 at summer when I will have more time to clear fist deposit bonuses etc. Is there HUD allowed?

I switched to NL150 today (full stacks are 21,50 in USD) and seems like there is no much difference between NL150 and NL100. I even got an impression that the players are more scared of losing bigger amounts, so I have a bit more fold equity postflop. Preflop they open limp more and when they open raise, they very often minraise (from all positions). Like they are affraid of open raising 3x because it's alot of money. Will see how will it go, but for now it seems like alot of :profit: Let's hope I'm right. :f_drink:

February was a bit under what I need to achieve my yearly goal (I need profit of ~$180), but I'm satisfied overall, especially because the January was extraordinary and also because at some point it was quite possible that February will be a losing month. In this month I've made some unplanned changes of moving to another room. It was rough at the beginning, but now it seems like a good decision. A player pool is definitelly alot softer than on Stars. Too bad I can't use HUD and the traffic is poor, so at some point I will probably be forced to move to another room looking for bigger stakes. It's questionable can I even find enough NL50 games (in terms of USD) when decide to move up. For now 888 seems like a good next destination, especially since I don't have an account there yet, which I could potentially benefit from.

Whatever happens, for now things are looking very very good, much better than expected at the beginning of the year. I will do my best to keep them this way, as always! Let's keep pushing!! :sfishg:

I really don't know actually. At least at the micros, I am allowed to have a HUD. Perhaps it's with certain games within 888. You can always send them an e-mail in case you want to be sure :) Otherwise the Internet there should be some information about this.

Nice results btw :f_thumbsup:

Cheers,

Theres no HUD on 888 snap (zoom) tables, but your hm2/pt4 can still record hand and you can review your stats later etc.
I was playin some on SS aswell and i think that best strat there is to just play like 16tables and wait for good hands to ship some money in, theres not much in terms on learing as you play etc

Since the promotion ends on 6th of March, I hope and believe to retain the current winrate.

Today I started to play NL200 (28,5 USD at the table) and opponents are just slightly better there than on lower limits. I can comfortably play it with 96 stacks in bankroll, but those tables are running just at evenings, usually 4-6 tables. Higher stakes than that are almost impossible to get, just 1-3 tables at evenings, but maybe the player pool will grow in the future because everything just started. But if I will manage to have like 10 bb/100 at NL200, that would actually be all I want from poker at the moment, because that would be like $10 hourly (more than I'm currently earning on my main job). :f_o: 10 bb/100 actually doesn't seem completely impossible if you see the player pool. :f_eek: It's almost I'm scared of what seems to be is possible to achieve there. I think I will have to cool my head a bit in next days. :f_cool:

I'm playing at 888, FR regular tables. HM or PT works on regular tables. I used to play SNAP so as far as I know, HUD works only when you play 1 SNAP table, when you play more tables, it s***w something up. Traffic is ok, there are tables to play. It's has more tables on weekends and at evening, obv. So, with table selection you can find 4-5 good tables.
