More detailed response to vuciitis in regards to table count and edges

- The part about missing edges happened in December 2016 when I went from 4 to 5 tables. That is huge difference vs what I am doing now. I played whole 2016 4 tables, now I will play 3! So its significantly less for my comfort zone. Also my game in December 2016 had leaks for post and pre flop on specific positions, and now in March thanks to studying 60+ hours, I have went from negative to positive red line and studied textures where I had most trouble = expected win rate and EV much higher in comparison to what I did with 5 vs 4 tables.

So how it will work out, its very hard to say at this point. I can tell you that I played 1 session now 0.87 hours 3 tabling 30s, had 17.71evbb/100, EV ITM was 40.9% I ran at 28.57% and chipEV/Tourney was 114! I ended session 2 buy ins down despite playing well. 18 more buy ins left for shot taking :)

Overall, I am not worried at all about how 30s will go. I have until 15th of May deadline that I have set to make 5k total profit post RB. While playing staked I want to take shots at 30s because they bring significantly bigger hourly and I get to check my game plans and adjusting vs overall better and more aggressive opponents. If I drop 20 buy ins set in stop loss, I will just resume 3 tabling 15s for the rest of the month and that is that. Before month started I said that once I make 1k profit from starting BR I will take shots at 30s. That is what I am doing.
After I make 5k profit in the deal, I will likely play on my own 15s, 2 or 3 tabling them and building BR to play 30s by the end of the year.
Most important thing to keep in mind is goals I have set for myself in this year. They are very specific, measurable and easy to track.
I have study goals set (textures, leak fixing, coaching sessions, coaching my best friend); grind goals (1500 hours ideally!); hourly goals (30-35$ post RB); financial goal (50k post RB including guitar and music lessons).
Playing 30s fits very well into all the goals mentioned. They push me to improve faster vs better players; they motivate me even more to grind; they bring potentially much higher hourly and easier to reach 30-35$ there vs 15s for example; and in turn all that can lead me to get to my financial goal for the year faster.

I feel I am ready to play 30s full time. This is not just my opinion but also from my friend crusher who works with me. He plays 30s-100s with positive win rate, we did about 12 hours of coaching in February and his opinion is that I should definitely do 30s full time.
Last year I mentioned in the blog about 15s vs 30s. I was not ready to play 30s last year. My knowledge, game plans, adjusting, and leaks did not give me confidence that I am ready. However, 60+ hours of studying and active studying in February while 2 tabling, gained me so much edge that now my biggest leaks are covered (C and C- game SB 3 way and BB HU) and that by itself with improved hand reading and texture study makes me much more difficult to play against. On 15s this was not problem even with those C C- leaks, but on 30s I know I would get rapped. Now, different story.

So all in all, will take shots systematically, only after hitting certain profit targets with specific stop losses. For this month I set profit 1k and then decided to set 20 buy ins stop loss. In February I set up 5 buy ins and it lasted over 20 hours of grinding which showed me what to expect and where my edges and leaks are. Now 20 buy ins could last more less or the same. Doesn't matter. If I drop those 20 buy ins, I will move back to 15s and continue grinding them until I make 2k profit total and then take another shot but for 10 buy ins.
Ideally, this shot taking should continue into full time 3 tabling 30s. That is what I expect at least while being stacked and going for 5k profit by 15th of May 2017.

Time will be the best story teller. Expectations are one thing, reality and variance can prove it to be otherwise. Time will tell on large enough sample whats the most +EV way to get to that 30-35$ hourly and keep improving as poker player and increase hourly in the process.

Appreciate it Sven! :)

Lets see. In 2017 I played twice 100x and won both times.
In 2016 I helped my friend elpsycho win 100x on 7s from 1 try by sweating and giving advice occasionally. On my own in 2016 I played I think 4 times 100x on 15s, won 3 and lost once in 3/3 players. Also got 100x once on 7s and won it! Also got once 200x on 15s and won it as huge underdog (was down to like 3-4-5 bbs) but played some brutal post flop in limp pots and got back into it :)

I agree. It would be pretty sweet to get that 10000x and win it next. Somewhat life changing money, at least would get me to play less, study more and have BR to play higher limits as well :)

If somebody is interested in coaching for winning multipliers, you know where to find me :f_biggrin: :f_drink:

Quick update about today

Over 5 hours of grind in with session with my friend crusher included. He was watching me 3 table 30s, we had a lot of good laughs. Before we started session we made jokes about my cEV (at that point was over 87 or so) and then when we finished 1 hour after setups and standard card distribution things, I dropped down of course.

Anyways, 30s so far about 6 hours 3 tabling, around 130 games in, cEV is 56 which is post RB 35$, with positive red line of course! This is great although sample is still very small, I am most pleased that I am not getting run over by anyone in post flop and that my pre flop game plan and adjusting is solid.
I have set assignments to complete to increase my EV and win rate. 1 of the assignments I did today in the coffee place, took me 30 minutes to run different scenarios and see how to adjust. However, this is just 1st study or scratching the surface with it. I need to take those scenarios, study and learn them to recall from memory while I play.

Today no movies, female friend of mine is out of town so we will go see Logan some other day. Guitar and music lesson for today was not scheduled due to student being out of town, he will have a lesson on Sunday instead.

So what lies ahead by the end of the week:
- 5 hours daily grinds
- 1 more coaching with my best friend
- Working on the game on my own with those edges needed for 30s and higher limits
- Working on at least 1 new texture by the end of week with my friend crusher
- Going to movies to see Logan
- Teaching guitar and music 1 more lesson on Sunday
- Derby game this weekend, Partizan vs Crvena Zvezda (Partizan plays away - might go to Belgrade to watch it live)

For 30s, I have made about 6 buy ins on so far in 6 hours grind pre RB so I have 26 buy ins left for shot taking 3 tabling them.

Enjoy your new week on and off the tables!

Really inspiring to read :f_thumbsup:

I just dont get it how i can play 4 zoom tables profitable but fail to do the same with Spins...
Not even 3 tables, the only way for me there is 2 tables.
Maybe because im still trying to make complex decisions (taking too much time to decide wether to fold or play the hand).

Anyway, good luck for the 30s!
Looking forward to see more of those crushing results in 2017 and maybe 1 big jackpot too? :f_biggrin:

:welcome: In 6-max Zoom, regs' VPIP is much less than the one needed in spins where the action is 3-max or (for the majority of the time) HU. So one can't play as many hands an hour profitably in spins as in Zoom. A spin takes 20-25 hands on average so 2-tabling them requires playing 400-500 hands an hour, with about as many VPIP hands as when playing 1200-1500 Zoom hands an hour. And as opposed to STT SNGs, most spots in spins actually require a nontrivial thinking process in 2017 instead of simple push/fold.

Congrats on your latest 100x hit! :f_thumbsup:

However, I'll be slowly but surely getting used to 100x hits as ordinary events because iPoker's new payout structure allows a high volume grinder to hit a 100x (not always win it, of course, but at least get 10 BIs out of it every time at the €10+ BI levels) every single week :f_thumbsup: (every 1K games on average, while a Twister game is 1.5x faster than a Stars spin).

Glad you are enjoying the blog and thank you for good luck for 30s :)

In regards to your question about Zoom CG vs Spins. I think it boils down to what Tony told you, wider ranges in Spins both pre and post flop. Also, you have elements of r/c all in pre flop which in CG when you play happens with very tight ranges overall so most action is post flop there.
Spins are both easy and hard at the same time. They use cEV which is same for CG. Their pre flop default strategy can be learned easier then for CG for example but post flop is much different in comparison to CG. Since you have to play HU and win it constantly to win money, you need to learn to play wide ranges. So in nutshell its combination of CG play of BTN vs Blinds and HU Hypers play in actual HU.
I played 4 tables last year through out the whole year and didn't feel any discomfort at all. Key is to have very strong default game plan which will make money on auto pilot on average. If you want to improve from that point on, work on fixing your biggest leaks and then work on post flop a lot cause that is where most money is and always has been anyways. After that its just matter of testing your multitabling skills and picking what you want to do.
Some people will choose hourly over improvement. Some will choose mixture of both. Some will just seek to improve and discard hourly. I am the type who wants to have high hourly but also move up and this is why March will be essential to test my EV hourly 3 tabling with leaks fixed.

Thanks for coming and wish you all the best on your road of CG Zoom!

All of them count! I don't mind getting another 100 more of 100xs and winning them all vs 1 of 10000x

Appreciate it good vibes and wishes always :) :f_drink:

Not yet but it could be in next 5 years the way AI and technology is advancing. Again, this doesn't affect profitability of playing poker. Human player needs to study these optimal plays and adjustments in order to make money. Using bots and AI type of software is prohibited on rooms so I expect that to be tackled even harder in future by major rooms and networks to prevent dream machine usage. Now its still very doable to make a great living from poker.

Update about today

Whats up guys, IvicaIliev77 here!

Today was another very good day for poker.
Studied in coffee shop advanced edge for 30ish minutes. Grinded a bit over 5 hours. Had session (more like study session) with my friend crusher where we kept covering that edge together.

As far as 30s go, I think I am doing very well on them and they feel very much like home for me at this point.
3 tabling, 11.27 hours in March already on them, 256 games with cEV74 or post RB hourly of 57.83$

Through out the day I went from up 4 buy ins to down 11 buy ins to finish the day with up 13 buy ins. Perhaps thing to add is that on this LOL sample I am running below EV (EV ROI is 7.92% and running at 4.69%). evbb/100 is 12.19 on this sample. Both blue and red line are positive.

I will see if I can get you to see the sexy graph from my desktop in a bit. Need to use my portable hard drive, record that graph there, upload it on my laptop, then put it on Imgur and share it here. Will take me 5-10 minutes.

Anyways, very happy with my focus while grinding and most happy that post flop I find myself very confident in virtually all the spots. I know range vs range right away and how wide or tight I need to make value bets or call downs. I think this is beginning of beautiful friendship with 30s :)

Tomorrow!
Derby game at 6pm! Will watch it somewhere - that is the plan.
Will continue to study this advanced edge.
Go for 5 hours of grind again.

That's it for this update , in next one I will post graph on 30s so far 3 tabling.

Middle of the day update

Today so far I played absolute worst poker in March and in February combined.
I turned hands into bluff, was overly aggressive, was bluff catching super thin, in 3bet pots I was making mistakes.

Results don't really affect me, my BR has like 900ish $ left for shot taking. BUT, the way I played 2 hours today is unnaceptable.

Have 3 more hours of grind left for the day, derby game to watch and will study in the evening.
Before resuming grind, I will now go over marked hands to write out thinking process and range vs range. It will be excellent knowledge review and build up + warm up for more grind.
6pm derby game, I will watch it at home on laptop connected to 1 of the monitors. Very likely will not play poker while game is on.

Other then that , taught my best friend today (session today instead of tomorrow - he asked for it). I am very happy with his post flop assignment. I told him he will click with it and he really did! When I was showing it to him he had really hard time accepting and was fighting somewhat with his mindset. Today he came very ready with range vs range on 1 texture that he analyzed flop for. Excellent work for somebody getting into Spins. I wish I had someone to teach me like that to do range vs range and give me systematic way to understand any texture for range vs range. He will crush this year knowledge wise. Grind and mindset wise I also hope he will crush. It is hard to say with people because doing poker full time vs recreationaly is totally different thing. Full time brings mental game leaks, spew days like me today in 2 hours etc. So I look forward to see how his mindset and grind habit will be through out the year. His study habit is building up and so far he completed assignments I gave him. In 3 months I expect him to be on 7s, beating them with higher ROI then we set up. He just needs to continue the way he started, keep the focus and dedication all the way through and try to add even more hours to studying because that is crucial always.

Enjoy your weekend on and off the tables!

Quick update

Yesterday didn't grind remaining of the day. I watched derby match with my family, had 4 beers and didn't want to play in such state 3 tabling 30s :)

Today just finished teaching guitar and music lesson. Before that sent my friend 3 textures to load in PIO Solver including 2 ranges for SB vs BB in HU. In next session(s) look forward covering it all with him.

Feeling rested and regenerated. Will study and grind today as I set in my daily goals.

Enjoy your weekend on and off the tables!
