Hello,

Thought I'd do a midweek update after my playing session.

Today i played for a little more than an hour and won some $$

Here's how to beat Aces:

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BB: $10.88 (108.8 bb)

Hero (MP): $10.20 (102 bb)
CO: $10 (100 bb)
BTN: $10.04 (100.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 2♠: K♠:
CO posts BB OOP, UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.30, CO calls $0.20, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.75) 7♠: 6♣: 8♠: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.43, CO raises to $0.86, Hero raises to $2.70, CO raises to $4.54, Hero raises to $9.90 and is all-in, CO calls $5.16 and is all-in

Turn: ($20.15) A♠: (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

Hero showed 2♠: K♠: and won $19.24 ($9.24 net)
CO showed A♦: A♥: and lost (-$10 net)

I thought my fd was good enough to go all-in with against him after he just minraised me. I think I was thinking he was trying to bluff me out of the hand with the PS match hands thingy so that also affected the play.

This was a tricky hand, what would you do?

Hellooo again!

Week 3 of the bankroll challenge under my belt and I'm doing pretty good. Had a couple of losing sessions that took me down to earth and made me a bit scared of how I play and made me study some spots so that's good!

Hands: 2684
Result: +$66,02
Start Bankroll: $147.51
Now Bankroll: $306.32
Bankroll last week: $240.30
Goal: $1000
Weeks: 3

If you're paying attention you can see that I only won $47.75, but what you can't see is that I got a $10 bonus plus I played some NL2 on my mobile.

During my last playing session I found a superb table to play at. A fish that had stats of 100/40/2.8 over 80 hands. He was a goldmine. I don't even feel sorry for him for being so aggressive vs. me. I feel sorry for passive fish whose money I steal.

Here's the best hands vs. him:

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $10.22 (102.2 bb)
BB: $7.64 (76.4 bb)
Hero (MP): $10.94 (109.4 bb)
CO: $39.45 (394.5 bb)
BTN: $12.60 (126 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J♣: J♠:
Hero raises to $0.30, CO calls $0.30, BTN raises to $1.35, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.05, CO calls $1.05

Flop: ($4.20) 3♠: Q♥: 2♥: (3 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $2, BTN folds, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($8.20) T♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $36.10 and is all-in, Hero calls $7.59 and is all-in

River: ($23.38) 5♥: (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$23.38 pot ($1.05 rake)
Final Board: 3♠: Q♥: 2♥: T♣: 5♥:
Hero showed J♣: J♠: and won $22.33 ($11.39 net)
CO showed 2♦: 6♣: and lost (-$10.94 net)

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (SB): $23.42 (234.2 bb)
BB: $33.16 (331.6 bb)
MP: $10.60 (106 bb)
CO: $15.09 (150.9 bb)
BTN: $4.03 (40.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J♣: 6♣:
2 folds, BTN raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.25, BB calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.90) 5♦: 5♣: 4♣: (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.40, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.40

Turn: ($1.70) J♠: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.80, Hero calls $0.80

River: ($3.30) Q♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $31.66 and is all-in, Hero calls $21.92 and is all-in

Results:

Spoiler

$47.14 pot ($1.50 rake)
Final Board: 5♦: 5♣: 4♣: J♠: Q♣:
Hero showed J♣: 6♣: and won $45.64 ($22.22 net)
BB showed 4♥: Q♥: and won $0.00 (-$23.42 net)

I know, the hands weren't played how you should play them, but every time you could get a hand you would get payed off if you hit.

Until next time.

Those are crazy hands for sure, but against that kind of fish it’s always nice to win so much money of him. Hopefully you found him again the last couple of days :f_thumbsup:

Cheers,

Week 5 of the bankroll challenge and the doomswitch has been turned on. First losing week of the challenge and boy have I lost. I'm playing at Ipoker now and it's really difficult. There's lots of bad players but I don't seem to be able to do the right decisions. They call far too light and draw past me by the river with shitty cards. I am also feeling fishy because pretty often when I have a good hand regs bet and raise vs me. In the beginning of a session I'm cool and collected and fold my TPTK and when it's been going on for 30-45 minutes I start calling and they have the nuts. Just feels so bad. But all hope is not lost. I have been studying more and more. And that's what I need. I'm still a noob, I know I am. And I will learn and get better and post positive results next week. Even $1 dollar is a win to start from.

Hands: 4237
Result: -86,04 €
Start Bankroll: 140.41 €
Now Bankroll: 270.88 €
Bankroll last week: 356.92 €

Week 6. Finally had some winning sessions and starting to turn around. I have been studying a lot and should also do more blog posts but I don't really have so much time for the game so I have stuck more to going through last sessions hands and studying.

Week 6 results:

Hands: 2473
Result: -6,36 €

Hello!

This weekend I played on pokerstars with some fpp tournament tickets and came second in a $1.50 sng and won like $5 maybe and started playing nl2 zoom. I ended up at $50 after a few hours of playing a combination of nl2,5 &10. I also have withdrawn my money from everest and will move it back to pokerstars. Really like it better there.

My sessions for last week:

Now Bankroll: $315,67

Hello Again! Time for update. This week has been a rollercoaster. I started withdrawing my funds from Everest but I thought to my self that I should try more and not give up at Everest, well bullshit! I can't win on Everest so I withdrew my funds finally and deposited on Pokerstars and got to play a few thousand hands.

Sessions of last week:

Graph for last week:

Results for week 8:

Hands: 8257
Result: +$37,90
Start Bankroll: $147.51
Now Bankroll: $353,57
Bankroll last week: $315,67
Goal: $1000
Weeks: 8

So this makes no sense to me. My bankroll is bigger but my results are minus $7.xx. I think I did something wrong when filtering last week. Anyways now i'm only going to use the last week, this week filter from now on not to fuck it up. Maybe the session on 16.1 should not be counted in on this week or something like that for it to make sense. Anyway my bankroll is $353,57 today monday 23.1.2017 at 16.27 when I am writing this. Also might have forgotten to add together the bankroll I had on stars to the one that was on everest, i don't know.

Next a few hands from last week:

#1Biggest amount of bb loss. On the flop I was pretty sure I was ahead. I figured one of them had a flush draw and the other two pair, K8, KJ or even AK, so I wen't all-in. Don't know if best decision, but I think I would do that again or maybe raise a little smaller.

Turn: ($51.76) 9♣: (3 players, 2 are all-in)

Final Board: J♦: 8♣: K♣: 9♣: 2♣:
SB showed Q♣: T♣: and won $50.26 ($31.35 net)
Hero showed J♥: J♣: and won $0.00 (-$18.91 net)
BTN showed K♦: K♠: and lost (-$13.84 net)

#2 This hand is interesting, co almost has to have a set when I look at it now. A set or oesd. I'm getting it in though. But should I have raised already on the flop?

Well ill be honest with you. Im surprised your even making any kind of profit. You put your whole stack on variance/luck depended outcome.
For example the hand "how to beat aces". All you had at flop was a flush draw, and you decide to go all in on flop with 9 outs, and hoping to improve on the turn or river. If you keep playing like this, its only a matter of time, until you go on huge downswing.
Im not posting this to offend you, or hurt your feelings, just take it as a critism, that you can learn from.
I suggest you to study opening ranges and how to play draws. Also get well known with pot odds and implied odds, might help you.
Anyways, best of luck to you!

Thank you greatpk for your honest comment! I am well aware that I am not the best player but I am learning every day and getting better. On the aces hand though I thought I still had some fold equity and if he called it wouldn't be too terrible. Have a great day!

Time for a quick update so I can continue. I have been travelling one week so I forgot to do this update.

Weeks 9-11
Hands: 13877
Result: -$46,96
Start Bankroll: $147.51
Now Bankroll: $306.61
Bankroll last week: $353,57
Goal: $1000
Weeks: 11

A little bit sad about my result. I have been breakeven for many hands now and I need to find something that I can do better to climb back to the winning ride. I know I have had some tilt issues that certainly cost me some money even though I thought I didn't tilt. I have been concentrating on that a bit and also researching the game.

I would like to hire a coach but that's just fucking expensive. I'm a bit interested in that program. But then again, I am a father, have a job and obligations other than poker so I don't think I can put that much time on poker, already hearing some nagging :) And also programs have some kind of deposit to be made and I don't have that at the moment. I'm just going to try reviewing my game, make notes of opponents, not tilt, play solid A game all the time I play. And see what happens.

I have also been home with our kid for 6 weeks now while my wife has been working but I go back to work tomorrow so let's see how eager I am to play when I will probably be more tired than before.

Also during the next week I am going to be playing zoom tables. I know it's not the most profitable but it's just so much faster, you can go from 0-100 play in a few seconds. That suites me better also in my current situation.

Not gonna post graphs now, makes me sad Gonna do it another time.

Thxbye!

Hello guys! I haven't been updating in a while because I haven't had that much time on my hands so I have mostly just played or looked at hand histories or studied through another website.

Another reason is that poker hasn't really gone my way recently. I have been swinging up and down. I have been to over $400 and fought hard and tried improving my game but the more knowledge I've gotten, the worse the results it feels like. I went back down to $200-$220 and the psychological side of the game really got to me. Maybe I lost a day or two and felt like shit. Next day I won loads of money and was happy like i'm gonna become a pro and get to quit my current job. Day after that I have the biggest loss and feel real shitty again. It's awful! Probably other people have been through the same.

But I just don't know if I suck at playing or if I suck when I play bad or If I am good enough to win the limit if I just play my best game. It's hard to say. And I might need to buy some coaching for that. I have really been looking into this coaching for profits shenanigans, but I don't wan't to put anymore money into it and I don't know how my life will look like in the fall, might start to study to a higher degree, so don't wan't to commit to that yet.

Also lately while I have been playing, my computer has started lagging like hell and I don't know if its pokerstars, HEM2, or some other program, so that has removed my concentration from the game when I have tried figuring out whatTHEFUCK is going on with the pc. So I decided to, after about a week of trying to fix it, to reinstall windows. I moved my old HH to the clouds and installed everything again.

I decided that I will start a new challenge for myself and start with $50 and move all the other money to my neteller because it feels like I would lose it all if I continued like this. So this month I am going to play NL2 Zoom on pokerstars and I think that I will shit on this poker game if I ain't on plus after one month of playing. I know I shouldn't give it a time limit like that, but I just did so sorry. :) Just doesn't feel like it's worth putting so many hours in if I ain't getting anything out of it.

The "why" for why i'm playing is to get a little bit extra money every month. Like $25-$50 per month would be AMAZING. With just a little bit of playing. Would be nice. More would be better. But just a little bit would be enough. January was +-0 and February like -$100. So i'm frustrated. But I will still try.

So sorry for the rant. I will post some hands soon. But first -> to the SAUNA. Bye

Hello!

Just wanted to update a little bit. So i'm gonna play some nl2 zoom until the end of this month and hope to see it go well.

I started at $50. I am now at $54.93

Graph this far:

I think I will stick to 2-tabling so I can do the best decisions at all times. Playing too many hands doesn't help one to get better and think through all situations. I have done that mistake of just trying to go on autopilot 4-tabling, but without good results.

I will grind a little bit this evening when wife leaves for work and the kid is asleep. That's what I will do on my spare time. I will grind it out.

I feel some motivation pouring in.

I'm gonna lay out some goals for me for this incoming month.

Hands played: 20000
Before every session go through last sessions hands and post two of them on pokerstrategy.com
Update blog at least twice a week.

Let's go.
