If you can´t win at Sit and Go you can win at PLO!
Yeah. Still running under EV and loosing most of my All-ins...etc..(you know the story). So I needed a bit fun and distraction. I opened 3 PLO2 CG tables and played 2 hours. It was so much fun and I could double up twice: with the nut-str8 and the nut-full. I was bluffing well and getting slowly back into the game.
It was a good feeling to win at least something. I should play a bit more PLO (but don´t worry: this is not gonna turn into a PLO-blog :f_biggrin:). It was just nice to be back at the CG tables (no, I won´t turn into a CG player again).
Aw guys, what should I write? I´m just folding and folding and folding and folding unplayable hands, getting something good every 100 years ♠_ugly:. The mean downswing-virus is still resisting, the dealer deserves a ton of rotten tomatoes ♠_ugly: The only way to win a bit at the moment is hitting the PLO tables.
It´s not even about the money - I can keep my losses low. Despite reading "The Mental Game of Poker" - I see no point in loosing 50 Euros when I can loose only 7 Euros. I went down in limits. Mental fish or not, I asked Collin (Moshman) and he said it´s okay to do it!
Played my 20 tourneys today, most of the time just folding the same crap hands, then I hit the PLO-tables and could win at least half a stack. It´s just extremly annoying to get only crap or then the second best hands. ♠_cry: I will play only my minimum volume (80-100 tourneys per week) and use the time to study and to re-learn PLO.
YUM!
Whens your video with Collin coming out? Cant wait to spy on your master plays ♠_thumbsup:

Phew! Isn´t it already somewhere? ♠_ugly:----> ask the guru himself.
Tilt - what now?
Ooooh shoooot! Now it happened to me. I´m steaming, I´m angry, I´m loosing motivation.... aaaaw! Of course I quit my session and try to calm down. Don´t wanna complain about the hands I got (or rather: didn´t get) or those which I lost. I realized I start playing bad and quit. Try to cool down. Think of something nice. Oh boy, this downswing takes forever and ever..... Oh man! I´m sitting here now and thinking about what I could do to resolve the tilt.
It feels bad. Can´t inject logic anymore.....
Guess the best thing I can do is RUN.... and release some endorphines ("runners high")....
Feeling better
So, yesterday in the coaching I told in the chat that I even dream of the cards. Dreams are a mirror of our inside, our hidden feelings, wishes and pain. I looked up what dreaming of cards mean and here´s the interpretation:
Hearts stand for feelings, love and loyality. The queen of hearts stands for fortune and love. Diamonds stand for wealth. Spades stand for conflicts, difficulties and hurdles. Clubs stands for work and intelligence. Somebody who dreams of cards is open for new opportunities and to take new chances. The jack stands for creativity and energy. The king stands for success

PLO: getting into it
Played mainly PLO today, SnG still nothing works. The funny thing about PLO is: there I CAN play heads up while in Holdem I s****.
In PLO I have no problems with long trash card phases (part of PLO). Anyway, I had a nice session, it was fun, even though I lost 2 stacks. Lost with top set vs a naked flush draw (flush draw and nothing else) and with a full house, due to bad play: overplayed the underfull (Prim! We are not at Holdem!).
I can relate to your feelings very well. The donkeys' nasti- and braindeadness can drive you into pure desperation - especially when they get rewarded over and over again...
Yesterday however, I experienced great and unexpected consolation: I played two 12$ 1k respectively 1.5k gtd MTTs, one with 187 and the other one with 125 conestants - and I shipped both of them... Can you believe this? One for 440 and the other one for 315$

Sure you will regain success very soon, too
@tony, phew, I just have re-started PLO, have to get into it. As we can see, made some stupid mistakes and realized at the river that.....it could be possible that I don´t have the nuts!
Well, I didn´t ![]()
@Bruno: Congrats, that´s great and great push for your BR!! ♠_thumbsup: Super und herzlichen Glückwunsch!
As I mentioned, I´m still at the dark side of variance at SnGs, at PLO it was mostly my own fault, that´s okay. Next time I will do it better.

I can surely believe this, as 2 of my few biggest MTT binks came together (at the same night) too - once upon a time in the autumn of 2013, I chopped a $26 PL Omaha Hi/Lo tourney for $300+ and then a $27 NL Omania H/L for $1K+ a few hours later, both in the HU phase. I guess that playing MTTs well does require a lot of inspiration and bravery and shipping one tourney does take the pressure of the final table money away from you and allows you to think clearer at the final tables of your other MTTs if you hit some more at the same night.
Oh man, too bad that I don´t have so much time to play more MTT ♠_cry: I just play a couple of those at the weekends. Normally I play something like 2-3 hours after I finished my work for the day, either before or after sports. Noticed it´s better to play after sports because then I have the much better nerves. ♠_biggrin: But on the other hand playing after a hard work-out is bad because then I´m too tired and do not play my A-game.
As for poker: Yeah, I hope success will come back soon, it´s getting annoying. I´m just sitting at the tables just to fold hundreds and hundres of the worst hands in Holdem, in PLO longer folding phases are normal, you have much more hand combos and thus much more trash hand combos, hahaha! ♠_biggrin: But then, when you get a good hand you win big pots!! So it´s worth waiting and I enjoy having time, don´t have to worry about increasing blinds, I have time to wait (and steal now and then).

How about hyper MTTs or turbo/hyper MTSNGs?

Unfortunately it was not me - it was Bruno who won, but I´m happy for him!
Tomatoes, strawberries and herbs - or: the positive site of downswing
I didn´t play yesterday. I decided to use the time for house- and garden (or rather: terrace-)work (and of course: exercise) and for all the things on my private "I should"-list. A downswing is a good opportunity to get all those things done. It´s March and the weather here is beautyful, sunny and quite warm. And it´s time to start planting. Weeeee! I´m planting again yummy fruits and veggies.
A downswing is also a good opportunity to study more or learn a new or re-learn a variant. As you already read, I decided to re-learn PLO and PLO8. I think it´s a good way to keep motivated during a downie because - hoestly: A got a little bit "fed up" with just busting out of the tourneys and folding trash for hours and hours and hours and then finally getting KK and loosing it against T6s (happened to me on Thursday). In such situations it does good to switch to another variant, keep my mind busy with it, having fun and just enjoying the game.
After running for about 4K hands below EV and getting just nothing I was very demotivated and asking myself: "Why am I doing this? Sitting at the tables just to loose?". I´m no pro, I don´t have to make a living on poker, that may be a great advantage but also a disatvantage. The advantage is: You can just quit your session and do something else. The disadvantage is: It´s not easy to keep up your motivation because it´s not your daily bread and butter.
The thing is: I wanna keep motivated and I wanna grind up! So I had to find a way to keep up my motivation to play, to continue.....
