hey, very interesting post.
I like how you write.
Just keep your head up. I think you overkilled you with increasing your practise time. 80% study 20% play will just overkill your brain.

Don't give up now. you have build a nice followship already. Can't leave us behind

Motvation - Super Lemon

So I had my 15 seconds of fame on LemOn36's coaching which came with some decent advice. I was struggling with quantity over quality. I also feel that I am still far to results orientated, and that is hurting my game when things don't go my way which leads to a viscous circle. So I have some goals to be set and hope that I can keep the motivation. They are going to be less stretching to try and avoid burnt out.

Looking to the future

Poker Room: PokerStars
Game: NL Zoom
Bankroll: $50 (withdrew everything so going to redeposit $50)

Daily
:spade: Min 30 mins study
:spade: Min 100 PokerSnowie with live evaluation on (roughly 30 mins)
:spade: Min 200 PokerSnowie with live evaluation off with hands then reviewed. (roughly 1 hour)
:spade: Max 750 hands (equates to roughly 1.5 hours play)
:spade: Max 2 tables at Zoom
:spade: Review every hand played (roughly 20 mins)
:spade: Headspace - meditation (roughly 20 mins)
:spade: Duolingo Spanish (roughly 15 mins)

With all of the daily task more can be done on the weekend, and if some of the weekdays aren't quiet hit I will try not too be to hard on myself considering I work 40 hours a week anyway. For the the Max goals, these are going to be enforced using tiltbreaker. Rules for will be;
:diamond: 3 BI down in one session, 30 min lock out.
:diamond: 750 hands lock out for the rest of the day.
:diamond: Max limit NL2
:diamond: Max tables 3 (2 + 1 for re-player)
:diamond: Cashier hidden for 7 days (only view able on Sundays for blog)

Weekly
:club: 3 times sport or gym
:club: 2 blog posts
:club: 5 hands posted for review
:club: Database Analysis

The Sunday blog post will include an analysis of improvements (hopefully) in rating of the weeks play and overall play marked by Snowie.

Monthly
The only real monthly goal is to play enough at PartyPoker to get enough SP to stay silver at PokerStrategy. However this wont be straight away as PartyPoker "zoom" starts at NL4 and I don't want to deposit enough to have a BR for that just yet.

Long term - By 2018
 Beat NL2
 Beat NL5
 Beat NL10
 Have enough BR to withdraw some to buy myself a treat (which is too be decided)

All of the session will be logged using a template that I have made on OneNote. Hopefully keeping a record of thoughts, feelings, and errors will be a valuable learning tool as well as good for measuring progress that isn't tied to results.

Good luck! Glad to hear you are not quitting after all!

I would like to comment on the following "Review every hand played (roughly 20 mins)".
First of all I have no clue how you expect to be able to even look through a whole session in 20 min. Secondly I would recommend finding an area in your game you want to work on, pick out 4-5 hands which applies to said area and break each hand down in detail. (I can only speak for what is working for me, but doing this have definitely improved my game)

Yea the time was quiet a guess to be honest. However if limiting to 750 hands a day a lot wont be of much interest so when I say review every hand, it is more hands on interest. I do like the idea of picking certain areas, I currently focus on the hands that SnowieApp has identified as an error. (As it calls it an error regardless of result, which is handy as I tend to look at losses otherwise)

Also thanks to everyone who has stopped by. Keep the blog really feels like it is/will help with motivation. :f_thumbsup:

Weekly wrap up

Stats
Profit/Loss -$6.53 (+$2.30 from card match)
Hands 3,512
SnowieApp score

Graph - Can you say swingy?

Review
A big thank you to AgapieGheorghe who offered to look over a recording of one of my sessions. So I recorded about 750 hands (can be found here and here). If you fancy watching some terrible NL2 play, those will sort you out, I would recommend watching at x2 speed though :f_biggrin:

Anyway AgapieGheorghe watched the whole lot and came back with some really good feedback, which I am going to be working on. I am thinking of posting one record session a week, so hopefully others can give a bit of feedback as well :f_thumbsup:

Goals

It is worth noting SnowieApp scores you out of 100, whereas PokerSnowie for the challenge hands the closer to zero the better the score.

I decided to double the goals for the weekend. However for the hands volume I doubled it as a max, not as a target to reach. For the goals in general I did pretty well. Could have managed more for gym/sport and I didn't get a chance to do a database review. Next week I have a work day that is going to probably mean I wont get anything done, but the job pays the bills so comes first :profit:

Blog Job - Optimism

Successfully failed at that dream hard. I think I was a little over optimistic, but at least I tried and with this new found motivation and structure hopefully one day I will be able to climb out of the swamp of NL2.

Will try and do a bit more information base posts through the week rather then just a barrage of pictures :f_thumbsup:

Broke myself imposed rules and just jumped straight into playing today without doing any study or Snowie warm up... and I crushed it :fuckyeah:

Going to try and do some of the bits now as I don't think throwing all the goals out is a good idea long time. But it is a very nice feeling to actually have a good session.

Not sure if not playing Snowie first actually helped. Snowie's suggestions for the session I just played;

I know Mr Lemon has done a whole series about mircostake myths. But I actaully think bluffing at NL2 is a mistake, at least as much as Snowie suggests. I also cut out a lot of the "hero" calls Snowie recommends. Also am noticeably unbalance compared to Snowie, but that is more a zoom thing as people just wont have hands on me. (All just speculation but it "feels" true :f_biggrin: )

Told you that snowie for Nl2 is not that good You should use this software at a higher limit.

Congratz for your session. Great result :f_drink:

What goes up must come down

Literally not a single hand won. Every flush hit a full house on the river, every AQ hit AK and so on and so on. I just need to stop calling when I have 2nd best hand, however that feels like I would be folding all the time and people could just bluff me off my hand on any scary board....

Tough day, i feel ya. Had some of those myself recently.
Do u use a stop-loss-limit? I suggest having one! For example i stop my session when im down 3 stacks and take a break or study.
Might save u some cash when ur having one of those days!

Yea tiltbreaker kicks in at 4BI and locks me out for 1 hour. That 1 hour has now ended and I really don't feel like playing or reading about poker at all. So just gonna call it a day. Really need to get some consistency in play....

You can definitely bluff a lot
but in a different way than snowie, in that video we've seen that people fold too much to steals and to cbets and that was for higher limits
at NL2 that's pretty much all the bluffing you have to do along with sound turn barrels with equity, especially in Zoom where you won't have large samples on people.

You can ignore snowie pretty much there

Good luck!

Oh and personally when I lose 4BI in a day unless I feel really good I go study instead and call it a day for playing, especially when not running hot.
And since you play zoom, you can do some cool stuff like say every time you lose even 1.5 stacks or so you sit out and take a short break, come back when you're head's clear

I have accepted I will never get good at poker and am just throwing good money after bad. I think between software/training sites/money lost I am probably down about $600. Then there has been all the time playing/studying which could now seem like a waste as it never paid off, but at least now I know that i tried.

Best of luck to everyone, and I hope poker treats you well. :f_thumbsup:

Why are you quitting? Just because sometimes goes bad? If you change your mind, add me and i'll sweat you and see if I can help you :f_thumbsup:

rip

i'd definitely advise against depositing any further. if you feel you keep throwing good money after bad, you're probably right.
i've always treated my starting $50 roll as my last stand, which probably helped me in taking it quite seriously.

that said, i've gotta say it - nl2 is beatable for anyone willing to invest the effort. it might not be easy for new players, but it's also not that hard.
i don't "grind" nowadays, but i still play for fun and win at nl2-nl10, and they still have the leaks that lemon mentioned.
if you are losing and can't figure out the "why" by yourself, have someone else look at your game. i won't do it and i can't vouch for peddy or anything, but if you wanna give it a last effort, you should probably take up his offer.

Hey,

Dont play zoom. Take the normal cash tables. You can study your opponents and its more easier.

Gogogo

I think zoom is only nutsplaying with too much suckouts.

Give normal tables a chance. Trust me.
