J9o BvB facing min 3b

It would be nice if you give your own though process as well. This way you get most likely better feedback. Especially in this hand it’s good to know what kind of reads or stats you have on him.

Against an unknow his 3bet sizing is suspicious, but even then, if you call you could end up in a nasty spot like now. I would most likely consider folding the turn already, because I don’t expect a random NL5 player will play a hand like this as bluff and that’s the only thing we beat I think.

Min 3betting is quite fishy but it is still a 3bet. Villain can have a strong hand. Maybe you could call because it is so cheap but with off-suit hand I'm not sure. Folding pre would be a reasonable option?
As played I think postflop is ok.

Fold to 3-bet pre. Easy.

I would fold pre on his 3 bet. If my hand was suited I would consider call.

I would be inclined to fold this preflop as well, because being OOP for the whole hand sucks, especially with a hand like this. Plus if you hit top pair like in this example, you can never be sure that it's good, because your kicker sucks and you won't hit very good that often (think OESD, two pair or even a straight). Depends on the Villain as well, but I'd say you are beat here a lot of the time.

Folding pre is fine, but I don't think calling is bad here. The guy is obviously fishy with the 3 bet size, just gotta be careful postflop.
