Todays mission: qualify for Sunday Million Anniversary with 50$!

i just decided to use 50 bucks to try and qualify for sm again! its just such a big dream and that 10m gtd is just to tempting to not give it a shot. I at least have to try!
wish me the best of luck!
I will edit this post how it looks like.

1st Update!
played first four spins, won 1 x 27$ ticket and 1x 10$
lost two so -10$ but a ticket! Registered to a 27$ Satty already and will continue to spin when i dropped out!
Damn just noticed my PT4 does not work for 27$ satties~.~ guess I have to take some care about the dynamics myself

2nd Update.
Dropped out with AQ vs AK vs a very active guy with 12bb allin.
played few more spins, "bankroll" 35$ left. damn, ran twice in straight vs higher straight already in spins.
seems very unlucky
Need a little break for now and will continue in ~45 mins

3rd Update.
Same as last time, whenever there is a 27$ sat on the line i get coolered instantly
20$ left to go, I still believe!

4th update.
was down to my last 5 dollars but build up to 15$ again, so at least 3 more shots.
I feel like I get alot of 27$ chances (more than I should be in average) but I could only win 1 out of 6 which is a big problem.

5th update.
Only 10$s but plenty of them! back to 20$ but it is exhausting. I need another break

6th update.
holy shit i am so exhausted. just got my 2nd 27$ ticket ~.~ got about time ~.~
15$ left! 42% itm crazy. I will use this sat ticket now and use my last 15$ for a 11$ last chance qualifier with 1k spots gtd.
those are my 2 last shots. so i will make a final update if i suceeded or failed horribly

Last Update:
Failed to qualify :( -46$

what we learned today:
Don't do this stupid luckbased shit ever again. save up your rake and buy in the tournament directly.

The kings definitely don´t like us. :f_ugly: Lost with kings a couple of times too, but not by jamming into aces but by beeing all-in against A-x and an ace shows up on the board.

it's been a while since I last updated this blog.
I am very busy with my new flat. I am exhausted every single day and on weekends its especialy hard on me :D
can't wait for monday when i can relax at work again :D

meanwhile i managed to grind exactly 10,000 hands since last update.
at the middle of it my downswing finally seemed to disapear.

It is weird what you mindset can do. when I lost for like forever I was like "there is no money in poker when u can't even beat the lowest limits while spending that much time at the tables + on improving" to "how the fuck did you ever lose money to those donkes, they gift away their stacks so easily"

I did not really change anything at my game,I just started to run better.
here is a graph of the most recent 10k hands (I only play speed poker now, thats the reason for the good volume again while being ultra busy)

we invited family for eastern. So no renovating for complete 4 days!!! yay :D

No downswing lasts forever (fortunately!). Your downswing is over, so is mine. I run better too, not hot, but enough for little winnings. _drink:

While I could not touch Poker during eastern much, i still got a few hands done.
Running good at the moment (still behind ev but I can scratch some wins together).
Due to connections problems towards winner (i think on their end) I started to play on Pokerstars aswell (when winner lags).
Sure Pokerstars can't really offer anything but a big playerpool for Reg players nowadays I just felt really comfortable.
Finally a software again where everything works as supposed to. <3 it's been a while :)

So I will stick to the plan.
I will only finish the daily quest on Pokerstars, which is like 10 mins of 4 tabling there, and afterwards I will play on Winner as long as the software likes me

90% of my bankroll is currently frozen in neteller and they want me to verify my account which is impossible because their shitty varification system sucks ass
well until i figured that out there is only pokerstars left to play on. (so glad i moved 100$ there when Winner was lagging hard)
I keep winning money in that daily auto allin tournaments!
CG-wise I remember Pokerstars NL5 to be fkn hard. back in the days I had problems to even maintain breakeven.
I know I worked hard the last half a year and shoulve improved alot (even if i dont really notice it) the 7k ish hands on stars want to tell me I was wrong that the playerpool is unbeatle. They make soooo many expensive mistakes :)

I have a hand I'd like to discuss from todays 2k hands session.

PokerStars - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 91.4 BB
SB: 100 BB
Hero (BB): 135.4 BB
UTG: 100 BB
MP: 258.2 BB
CO: 39 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 3♣ 3♠

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, CO calls 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (9.4 BB, 3 players) 5♠ 3♦ 2♥
Hero checks, MP bets 6 BB, CO calls 6 BB, Hero raises to 18 BB, MP calls 12 BB, CO calls 12 BB

Turn: (63.4 BB, 3 players) 4♠
Hero checks, MP checks, CO bets 18 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 18 BB, MP calls 18 BB

River: (117.4 BB, 3 players) Q♠
Hero checks, MP bets 59 BB, fold

CO wins 112.6 BB

I know for sure I am beaten on the turn. I was angry at myself since I at least shouldve put the smaller stack allin right on the flop.
As played I think I have potodds to call the allin of the smallstack on the turn. I tanked a while because I was afraid of the Bigger stack rejamming because alot of his range consists of aces. If he would raise me It would be a disaster and i would have thrown 90c out of the window.
If he only calls me with his ace kind of hands (which i felt is very unlikely but I guess i was proven wrong) I have a shitton of implied.

I would like your thoughts on this hand.
Raise flop that small is a big mistake i think! both of them have sufficient odds to call me with any straightdraw.
Would you fold the jam on the turn because there is a bigstack with alot of aces in posi?
thanks for reading.

Of course they do, it's NL5 :)

Regarding the hand, yes I'd raise large on the flop. Plenty of worse hands that will call with a bigger sizing.

Turn if MP jammed would be very close imo. He has a lot of Ax hands, maybe 66 or random 65s. Perhaps 44 if he decides to play those that way (would expect 55/22 to 3bet flop). You need ~31.2% equity to call if he shoves and you get 29.5% if he only has hands that beat you:

Board: 5♠3♦2♥ 4♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    29.46%  22.45%   7.01% { 3s3c }
MP3    70.54%  63.53%   7.01% { AA, 66, A2s+, 65s, ATo+ }

So he only needs to have one han he overplays, maybe KK or something to push you over the edge (you'll have 32.5% equity).

That said this doesn't take rake into account. On the one hand I'd expect the average random NL5 player to be able to overplay stuff like overpairs a decent amount of the time here. But then they might've just gotten it in on the flop with those type of hands. So I think it's a little bit too close and would probably cry-fold.

thank you very much for your analysis and input TinoLaan :)

In todays morning session I finally managed what I did not think would be possible during april because of low volume and being in the middle of a huge 150k hands downswing.
Yet today in the morning my bankroll reached 400+$ and I can play NL10 again (for the 6th time since august 2016).
As mentioned in my February Recap my last attempt
was break-even and other stuff around the game made me take the saver route in NL5.
Right now I am very exhausted every single evening because, as stated 12512312313billion (imagine joe ingram's pronaounciation here!) times, we are moving to a new aparment next weekend. So i decided however I am going to run until then on NL5 I will take a 10 buyin shot on NL10 right after everything is settled in the new flat!
Morning grind is over, my helpers are soon to arrive, time to carry some big luggage

I guess I "infect" all my reg collegues here with the downswing. I think it´s a very good idea to go down in limits when you are tired or in a downswing - I know, a couple of collegues will disagree but for me it makes perfectly sense. Well, anyways, I hope we will get out of the downie soon....

30.04.2017 is Habit's Highstakes Day!

We are finally moving on friday-saturtday. after that sunday is my day to relax and do exactly nothing in the hosehold or anywhere!

My Event-Bankroll is still very healthy!
So I finally will fullfill my dream for so many years already. I am going to play Sunday Million!
But its not the only great thing going down on Sunday!

I deposited on Betfair and got 11 tokens for it, one 5$ Spin and go equivalent token (lost thatone with flush vs trips that made a fullhouse on the river ~.~)
and 10 1$ tournament-Tokens.
Used one of them to play for 20$ tokens. said done! So on sunday there is a 20$ Buyin 100k gtd. tournament.
Gonna play that aswell!

tl;dr:
Goint to play Sunday Million and a 20$ Buyin tournament on Sunday!

"mirror mirror on the wall, who is the best of them all?

you are the best player here, but behind the the mointains there is habit, and he is a billion times better than you"

history already told it, but here i am.
very very happy about my play today! it was frustrating during times, but my goal was to be positive.
all of a sudden my ev even caught up and was positive for quite some time and in the fkn end i reached my goal.
only took me 6 hours to be positive for the first time of today :D
how mad i was when i was closing on on 0 and got denied 4 times! twice by double coolers!!!

I call this picture Grand canyon. because when u stand on top of it it looks very simlar :D

I will not be able to play Sunday Million today.
I have acess to internet in the new flat. But it is not my own internet.
My own internet will only be available from the 15th may.
Since i cannot trust the internet I am using right now 100% I will save my buyin for mid-end of this month :)

within 2 days i fucked up my 10 buyin NL10 attempt.
I feel like shit.
I feel like I don't deserve this even tho i started tilting.
I am really mad right now. I am angry. Fuck poker for now.
Also I keep losing money in the cashier of IPOKER networks so i might stop playing on that network completely, it just annoys the shit out of me to take care of
such things, too.
I know pokerstars is not the best place for regulars. but fuck it. at least i can feel save there so i might go for a time PS only ~.~

And you know what. because i am that mad right now im gonna take a few screenshots for my monthly recap and delete the fucking NL10 database completely xD

not the most profesional approach but I need this now.

In that case, also really just say fuck poker for now and stop playing for a couple days. Get your mind back in the right state and continue again after that. Failed shots happen to all of us whether it's from bad play, tilt, bad luck or whatever. All we can do is learn from it and try again :)

About the cashier on ipoker, could it be because of currency exchange rates? Not sure, don't have any problems there myself but can imagine it's annoying if it does happen to you.

tl;dr take a couple days off and then start crushing again :f_drink:
