888 Poker - 75/150 Ante 15 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): 9.98 BB
BTN: 18.09 BB (VPIP: 18.95, PFR: 16.22, 3Bet Preflop: 6.25, Hands: 157)
SB: 31.93 BB (VPIP: 43.52, PFR: 4.47, 3Bet Preflop: 8.11, Hands: 307)

3 players post ante of 0.1 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.8 BB) Hero has J♦ J♣

BTN raises to 2.4 BB, SB raises to 31.83 BB and is all-in, fold, fold,

This looks like very tight fold, but SB with those stats will re-steal with top 8-9% if not even tighter.

AJo+ ; 77+

It might looks extreme but this type of player will call anything worse than that pre-flop and push only the premiums.

ICMizer gives me QQ+ which is understandable. I would like to hear your opinion on the hand.

p.S - I've seen him in my database to re-steal way too loose when big or short stack . So my fold here is actually terrible.

His stats are loose passive, but if you have indeed info he re-steals a lot what is in his situation a good move against the 2nd in chips you can indeed call, but I don’t think it’s a terrible move if you didn’t have this info when you played this hand.

That’s true, but it’s also good to know why you think this is the right move, because without this we can’t do much with your feedback.

Main question is:
- does SB understand ICM dynamics (and is therefore shoving wide to bully BTN)? Stats suggest he's a recreational player, so my guess would be a NO. But game dynamics could prove otherwise.

If yes, we can def. overcall w JJ here.
If no, than we can consider a fold here.

Close either way imo, since we are short by far.

I would call here, not by ICM or stats but because i'm last in place and the 2nd player is double of me.
In addition, my hand is super premium (for my stack) and the re-stealer is a fish.
You have to double somehow and if the fish looks to enter any pot (and he's right to do so as the Big stack), i'm also entering since BTN will probably scare and thinking i'm gonna bust after this hand.
I would prefer to play against the 2nd player of course.
About his re-steal range? well he 3-bets lots and if he knows about bubble and dynamics in general, he knows he can steal even more so his re-steal range should be bigger. He may also thinking that by raising the BTN, he puts lots of pressure on him since you're the small stack by far.
Of course you can't know all this unless you call him, see his hole cards and make a note on him for Bubble play.
