Hi ![]()
Gonna have to agree with what BadHabit said and I'll just say it again because it seems like you really need it. Stop focusing too much on bad beats and variance and focus on improving your game! And just like BadHabit I'm not saying this to pick a fight, but simply because it's true.
You said one of your goals was to work on your mental game. Plus you wanted to read at least one poker book. Maybe time to read for example The Mental Game of Poker? Never read it myself, but it has helped tremendously for people that have read it. Or watch some mindset videos. It seems like your mental game is the part of your game that needs to be worked on first, before anything else ![]()
Plus it feels like those coolers (which some of them are) cause some bad play as well. For example that 87o hand you posted earlier in the thread... Just... ![]()
While working on your mental game, also put in work off the tables to really improve your actual game step by step. Perhaps focus on standard preflop lines first, for example. Then start working on slowly adjusting those standard lines based on opponents' tendencies. Or perhaps you already have a large enough sample of hands that you can actively look for some of your biggest leaks. Maybe you cbet way too much, forcing you to then either continue barrelling on turn/river with crap, or forcing you to give up on turn/river too often. Or perhaps you go to showdown with too many weak hands. (these are just examples).
And of course watching videos and attending coachings can work wonders.
tl;dr version: work on your mental game, slowly but surely improve your play, and results will come eventually ![]()
Put in the work and I'm 100% convinced you can do it ![]()
