How to improve by "yourself"

It's funny because I started playing more or less the same time as you, have the same will to play cash, and I'm also playing 0,25 SnG's. However I'm not learning jazz guitar and vocals... But I'm a newly graduated pianist (classical education).

Now to the question of the thread:

What I did was to make a schedule where I discriminate not only the time I will be studying but also the format that I will be studying (books, videos, articles...)

I review my sessions usually the day after because it's more unlikely to be over-influenced by the session itself.

Studied the SnG Strategy book by Collin Moshman, a coach in this site, unfortunately I'm playing only 6-max due to restrictions in Pokerstars.pt (closed player pool and less variety of games) and that is not represented in the book.

I am looking to find some nice articles and videos. I will start from the ones in this site, some live play and theory explaining in YT (until I sign up to some training site, probably this one) since there is some interesting free content there.

Once I get a new pc, since the one I have now is too shitty to run skype or so, I will try to join a study group and add that to my studying strategy.

I don't have PT or HM, because of the pc manly, but I try to mark my hands somehow and post in forums to get different opinions from other people.

Unfortunately I have only applied this very recently so I don't have any results yet but I'm sure that organization can only do good.

Hey, i would suggest to take a look at some of the video's we have in our directory. There are also some programs to help you improve your skills. Programs like Holdemresources calculator will improve your openshove / reshoving ranges / calling ranges.

Pokerstrategy has their own equilab, you can play with equities and see how some hands do against other hands, its really interesting.

pokertars has a good school also where they give some info

Hi, I hate cash games...because it's very easy to meet donkeys in your table and with this kind of game, often the winning is not the strongest player but that one has more A** and therefore I've improved little by little my experience in sit'n go...in my opinion play this kind of Texas is:
1) better to limit the lost (you decide the buy-in and you know that you risk);
2) respect the number of players, you can adopt different way to play (and therefore to improve your game in every situation);
3) to be almost immune to donkey: in cash game "bluff" has more sense because if you have more stake, you can intimidate in very easy way your opponent with a few stake, in sit'n go this one can happen only in the table with many players in the end of the game...during all the match, you know that you can "put inside" without any fear!!!
For all these reasons I prefer sit'n go and I believe there's a correct behaviour more than cash games among the players...because for me texas is not only the "brave" but above all, only the "brain"!!!!!!!!

sit and go is fun when it's with KO, otherwise it's boring and you cannot make profit. For example if you play 4,50 sit&go 180 persons, you get starting chips 1500 and easyily will not get 27th place at least to take your buy in

but if you play 5$ KO sit&go, as soon as you knock out 5 persons you returned your money, while you are not finished in prise place

The 180mans are super profitable, I highly recommend you to play those.

I highly recommend reading Collin Moshman's book. It's really good.

If you do a quick Google search, it's pretty easy to find videos by Grayson Physioc ("spacegravy"). He has a particularly good series of videos online and they're free. They helped me out tremendously as someone who's learning.

As an aside, I would also recommend "don't try to eat the whole apple at once". Take your time and don't put too much pressure on yourself to quickly and magically become a super-multi-tabling-world-beater. I've just been trying to take the mindset of "really focus on getting better at one thing each day".

I have read a few books on poker but I would say watching tournament poker has probably helped me the most. Pokerstars YouTube channel is packed with footage of the best players in the world going at it, couldn't hurt your game to spend some time on it. PCAs and EPTs going back 5 years or so. Folks on forums are helpful also :-).

I read the poker strategy book of moshman almost 12 years ago and started playing 5€ 9man sitngo's (I'm italian) and I played 6x tables and was doing pretty good. At the time in Italy cash games where illegal so everybody played these sits you could easyly find tables running even at 5am. Now the situation is a bit different here sits are almost dead and 9man are totally dead i play 27man and they are quite profitable u can still use moshman's book strategy for 27 man but you mst play a bit more loose then 9man stt. If you want to play cash starting from the micro I suggest you read "crushing the microstakes" by blackrain79 u can buy it also in pdf prob costs less then paper book. I was showing a profit with his strategy in 1-2c microstakes cash. But as soon as I moved to 2-5c (at least here in italy) i saw that the profit with that strategy was meaningless. I like cash but i dont find a way to exploit the game. I mean if i play 1 table at the time i Win because i play on my reads and my oppo but i'm not able to multitable the 2-5c with a winning strategy (not yet at least). Any way I think that with a 30x buyin you can easily start to play cash at 1-2c
