Is my open pre too loose?

River was super weird. Obviously I love and hate this card. I felt like jamming now would be turning my hand into a bluff, so I checked. When CO jammed and SB called I felt I had to be behind. Am I going mad?

Fwiw, is SB's call off otr as bad as I think it is? Is CO bluffing or what?

This open is too loose against loose players, okay versus tight players. Definitely an open on the CO, though. I don't mind xraising the flop if they are stabhappy. :-)

IMO your play is fine. SB bluff catching 9 high flush looks bad in a vacuum, even worse with somebody to act behind.
Against that guy, I would not bet the kind of hand you have OTR, instead just put strong hands in your checking range (here KKxx, JJxx) and it is going to be :f_thumbsup: :f_thumbsup: :f_thumbsup:

Whale is bluffing, quite unlikely his straight could be good here. Doesnt look like u or SB have a boat here when u check to him. Quite decent spot to bluff, if you ignore te has no KJ blockers and it could be argued that he would raise sets otf IP / 2prs folding turn, making his shove bluffy.

Reg counted on him bluffing and you having 0 traps, as it's hard for you to call with better flush when he can have some boats too. I wouldn't recommend his play, but hey it worked this time :)

I don't understand what hand co is trying to represent on the river. What hand does not raise the flop and is good on that river?
After a second thought check/shove turn would have been nice here.

He is repping a whale-hand, you never know what these guys are capable of. He could have KJ that c just called flop and called turn because hey, two pairs

I strongly prefer betting turn with nuts + redraw to NFD. We block only tens, so it's more likely the turn will get xbacked and we miss value if whale has weak pairs or fd.

Now that I look more closely this hand from this regs perspective, I have to say really dislike his play on every street. Well maybe calling pre is ok when there is this whale person in the hand. Imo he should just fold his weak non nut gutshot + fd already on the flop. Turn he should again fold to big bet against 2 players his 2nd nuts + weak fd that will not be good almost ever, certainly he cant valuebet it even if he hits. River he has basically the exact hand he hopes the whale has, Q99 and 0 blockers to any pairs, so looks clear fold here again even if he thinks whale makes no sense with his line.

That's omaha, you can play like an ass and end up winning :)

I undertand :) I was thinking of checking turn so that if he has straight he pots and we shove with the freeroll, but if he has straight he will shove in top of us and we freeroll him anyways. Plus betting has the advantage of getting value from hands that call but would check behind.
Not sure I understand why just blocking a ten makes him more likely to check behind? is it because he has more 2 pairs combos?

I ment that when we dont have other pairs than single T here, I think other players are more likely to hold them. And I dont think such hand will be betting turn when there is 2 straights possible.

Whale should just push his straight ott imo. Sure he could be freerolled and with calling he can bluff rivers when same straight checks to him, but it's 3way and he should want to get rid of SB drawing flush/boat.

Looks good. I'm not really a fan of semi bluffing whales but your draw is so strong on the flop you are really just value betting it.

PPT ranks this hand as in the 15th percentile.
