so my homegym is finally set up and i have already my first fullbodyworkout behind me.
It feels great to know that whenever I feel like it i can step in my gym and work my ass off (while this is not my main priority in live anymore)

It was great after my loss-stop of 3 buyins to get there, work hard, go back to the table refreshed and lose another 2 buyins! (I actually mean it, it was great and will help me in the future I believe)

thats the approach for the rest of the month.
3 buyins => big break ether working out or do some complete poker unrelated stuff for at least 1 hour. => refreshed to the tables => 2 more buyins gone => wait for the next to to spend additional money on poker!

Sounds like a pretty solid plan :f_cool:

Would be better with 3BI up and then another 2BI up :)

Mental Problems sneaking in while getting crushed at the tables. I feel like I am not improving at anything.
The amount of time vs the benefits I get is just in no acceptable relation for quite some time.
It is hurting to accept it but maybe poker just isnt for everyone.

I am not quiting, in no means! (not yet) and I am not even mad or sad right now. Just a little stuck in bad thoughts
I set my goal for NL25 end of this year or quit.

I do not expect to get rich through poker. yet it's not fun to put alot of work into something to give away money to others (who don't spend as much time).
This is the lowest lvls and having problems to stay in profit "even there" is just really frustrating.
Being stuck in something you are not good at without improvement will lead to terrible, terrible things.

7 more months! :) I always fought harder and harder just to keep staying breakeven for half a year already, and I will continue to do so.

But today! Today is a no poker day! At least not at the tables. I will watch a few videos in the afternoon, but the sharks at NL5 waiting for me will have to walk away from the tables without ma money in the pocket! at least for today!

tonight is socializing night!

While I always prefered Tournaments over Cashgames but decided to take cashgames seriously because of the lack of time during the week I now reached a point where I need a break from cashgames. I can barly find my A-Game in the last few days + am running still horrible.

To find my passion for poker again but not be absend to long I decided I will give 180 men sg a shot and will therefor use a good chunk of my event bankroll.

I use 100$ of my event bankroll to grind 1$ and 50c (not sure what is in between since I cannot check tournament lobby for now).

What I try to achieve with it:

-find pleasure in Poker again.
-find back to my A-Game.
-extend my mental barriers of pain.
-be sucessful in an hopefully weaker playerfield.
-improve my game for the planned induce of the 2nd Poker-Boom after my WSOP Main-Event Jam in 2019

:)

just gotta get away for a while from cashgames

So I played 9 x 1$ 180 man SNG yesterday. started bad but made a final table and finished in 4th while trying to bluff out a calling station simply because the board is soooooooo strong for my 3b range. I think it was a mistake considering I had nice notes on him and he even called down other ppl with 3rd pair ignoring every basic rule of poker.

It was alot of fun even tho I think I would be very mentally hurt again if it wasn't for the final table.

The adrenalin rush on the final table in every hand is real even tho you don't play for alot of money.
I did not feel any difference than being on a final table with ten of thousands up top.
guess that is just something you have to get used to.

going to throw in at least another day. One problem is, I am in prime position to be goldstar for the next month, but if I would only grind tournaments from now on there is no way to achieve that so after hopefully boosting my ego a few days I have to return to cashgames.

Not saying that NL5 is unbeatable and the players are so godlike. I know, I am doing more mistakes right now than I usually did. But the lvl of this 1$ 180 man is just non existing. That guy calling me down was the only guy who got the reg color but with multiple notes on leaks that are easily abusable. 90% of other guys getting late are just hardcore nits who love to gift me their blinds.

I noticed too that it can be motivating to play now and then something completely different. It keeps your brain busy and you stay motivated.

By the way: At the moment I can just read very quickly through the blogs, so I don´t know if you already mentioned it: What about your no carb diet? How does it work and how do you feel with it? (If I overread that, excuse me).

Diet goes quite well, I have dropped 6 kg (most of it water for sure) in 2,5 weeks.
I just started working out a few days ago but everything goes well. (low weights because last time after a restart i fucked up my yearns hardcore => 2 weeks sick from work because I couldnt even lift a single paper lal)
So slowly increasing weights and slowly cleaning up my refeeds (because right now I eat whatever I want on refeeds.)

I read your paleo goes good, too! keep it up :)

so today i met with my coach to talk through the tough spots + big losing hands.
aperently unless some stupid tiltcalls I am not to far away from playing good.
I will drop 40k hands for him to review if some major leaks snug into my game.
so time to grind.
approach: 2 buyins down => huge break with eather gym or time outside => 2 more buyins down
for today : 2k hands and finally a winning day _thumbsup:

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
During work I played a little Snap (had 7$ thanks to promotions on my 888 account) and ran it up to 40$.
at home, on pokerstars, with perfect setup, stats and other helpful stuff i got crushed as usual!

New Approach:
-Watch 1 Video before starting the grind, and mb another one before the 2nd session

yes, thats it! Since usually I plan to "learn" before going to bed and ended up without learning (+ being mad) I will reshedule the learning hours before the actual grind! I might get less volume playing but at least I learned something right?

Since I doubt that it is normal to go on a 44 buyin downswing I should try to improve and I hope this will bring improvement!

month is over soon.
prepare for my worst monthly recap (hopefully ever!)
If you like red color this will be your favorite post!
if you like green, GTFO, this is not your place to be

Good stuff :f_thumbsup:

That's exactly what I do as well. I always do some studying before every session, even if it's just going good over some notes I made earlier during another study session. Works really well for me because it gives you something you can immediately try to apply in your game. Important to find the right balance between studying and playing that works for you. :)

Also I hope you don't like green because you will start seeing more of that color very soon and then you'd have GTFO of your own blog

i love how positive you are tino :) I really do.
First day with that approach. study 30 min (lenght of the video, actually about the mental game because its whats botheirng me yet again). joined the tables. after 60 hands i was thinking about quitting for today. lost 3 pots for around 20bb each, played them well, folded when i had to. Got KK vs AA and was down 8 bucks. 10 bucks is my lossstop. So since I thought I am still thinking well and it would not effect my game to much. So continued playing. 30 hands later:

PokerStars - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 125.4 BB
SB: 215.4 BB
BB: 101.4 BB
UTG: 141.4 BB
MP: 64.8 BB
Hero (CO): 101.4 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 5♣ 6♣

fold, MP raises to 3 BB, Hero raises to 9 BB, fold, fold, fold, MP calls 6 BB

Flop: (19.4 BB, 2 players) 4♣ 5♠ 7♣
MP checks, Hero bets 15 BB, MP calls 15 BB

Turn: (49.4 BB, 2 players) Q♣
MP bets 24 BB, Hero raises to 77.4 BB and is all-in, MP calls 16.8 BB and is all-in

River: (131 BB, 2 players) 3♦

MP wins 125.6 BB

so I quit at least until after the gym, than I will watch 2nd video and lost another 10 bucks

back to only -2$ for today.

tomorrow will be a winning day, even tho im very demotivated i can smell it.

I really dont want to write my may recap. it will be hurtful :x

Why 3 bet, I think recreational player, with 56s? On NL5 I would fold it. There are better hands to value 3bet. 3bet bluffing on NL5 imho is loosing cash. More tight on micro is right.
