PokerStrategist Mastermind Challenge - Q3

player A: he plays Spins
player B: he plays cash and Spins
player C: plays SnG

I assumped that player A plays Spins. If that is true it means that player C doesn't play cash. Then we have to check if player C plays Spins or SnG. If player C plays Spins, then his statemnet has to be false. It would mean that in there group there is only one player of Spins and it that case it would be false, becaouse I assumped that player A and C are spins players. In that case player C has to be SnG player and he tells the true. It means that player B has to play Spins at least. Then player B said thah he doesn't play cash, but we already know thah he lies, it means that he is moreover player of cash.

I hope is clearly explenation.

If A were to play Spins, he'd be a liar. That means C is the Sits player and therefore tells the truth. Thus B has to play Cash + Spins which means he's a liar. Since his statement is that he doesn't play cash, this definitely works.

B cannot be the Spins player because he would then be telling the truth, which is impossible for a Spins player. So a scenario where B is the Spins player and any further consequences from that is void.

If C is the Spins player, he's a liar. Therefore there's no other Spins player meaning the cash player plays Sits, which in turn means both A and B tell the truth. Since player C in this scenario plays Spins (and A says that C plays cash), that's also not possible.

Therefore, the only scenario that can actually happen, is one where player A plays Spins. In that scenario, player B plays cash.

As such Player B is the cash game player

If Player B is telling the truth then he cannot be the cash player. If Player A is telling the truth when Player B is telling the truth then this leaves Player C as the only liar which would make him the Spins player and therefore not the Cash player. This would mean nobody plays Cash!

So If Player B is telling the truth that means Player A must be lying. Player C says at least 2 players play Spins which would mean that there are 2 liars (A & C IF B was telling the truth) which would make his statement true. Since Spins players can't tell the truth both Player A and Player C would have to be liars to make Player C's statement true which which is impossible IF Player B is telling the truth because C would HAVE to lie. If Player C is lying and Player A is lying then we Have 2 Spins players and 1 Cash player but no SnG player.

Therefore Player B must be the Cash player and he is lying about it. Since Player B is lying and he is indeed the Cash player we know that Player A is lying as well and therefore Player C is telling the truth. Thus Player A must be a Spins player as well and the only other player left always tells the truth. This leaves Player C as the only truthful player which means he plays SnG's and is telling the truth about the number of Spins players.

Therefore:

Player A plays Spins
Player B plays Cash and Spins
Player C plays SnG's

Player B is the cash game player.

Player C tells the truth that at least 2 spin n go player among 3 of them.
The first spin n go player is Player A who lies that player C plays cash.
The second spin n go player is player b himself who plays cash game and also spin n goes.

Well I think I have to go for full point in case it was a trick question and noone answered correctly yet:

I think that AlpinaBG is a spin player and therefore the entire story is made up, the house was empty all along.

The shortly answer is: "B plays cash"

There are few ways to find that out, and I see you pretty much cover them. But as we need to post the detailed answer - here is it:

Let's prove A is lying.
If it were true that C plays cash, since there's only 1 cash player, B would also be telling the truth. In that case, both of them (A and B) would play sits (one sits and cash) and none Spins.
In that case, the statement C would be false, because there would not be 2 Spin players.
C in that case, would have to play Spin&Go and cash, but if C were the cash player, A and B could not be and since both of them would be telling the truth, they would both play sits, which is not possible because there's only 1 sits player.
So that combination is not valid and A is not telling the truth.

So, A and B play Spins but, who plays cash as well?
B says he does not play cash and given that B does not tell the truth:
A plays Spins
B plays Spins and cash
C plays Sits
