The Most Skill-Based Card Game Ever Created. 13 Nil - Meaningless - Cards Added to Standard Deck. Same Poker Rules. Are You Sick and Tired of Being Unlucky? Over and Over Again? Do You Dare to Play? Really?

Hello people, I am Founder of Nil Poker.

How to Play

Nil Poker has almost the same rules as poker (52-card deck). The only difference between playing poker (52-card deck) and Nil Poker is that there are 13 Nil Cards added to common deck of playing cards (52 cards) in Nil Poker (all together there is 65 cards; Nil Poker Playing Cards). Nil Cards are meaningless cards. All 13 Nil Cards look the same. Nil Cards have no value. Nil Cards can not make any valuable card combination. Every card is better than Nil Card (2 high is more valuable than Nil Card). All the other rules (blinds, dealer, betting rounds,…) are the same as in poker (52-card deck). You can play any poker variant with Nil Poker Playing Cards: Nil Hold´em, Nil Omaha,…

Make Your Own Nil Poker Playing Cards

Do you want to play Nil Poker? Unfortunately, we are neither producing or selling Nil Poker Playing Cards, at the moment, but you can make your own Nil Poker Playing Cards. You have to own (or buy) two identical card decks. Then, pick 13 cards from one deck and make them Nil Cards by marking them (for example: you can mark cards by writing small number 0(zero)) . Add those 13 Nil Cards to other poker card deck and you are ready to play. You can play a lot of games with Nil Poker Playing Cards (poker, rummy,…).

Reasons to Own Nil Poker Playing Cards

It is a small price to pay, if you are a good poker player. The return of investment is huge (winning) . Also, everybody wants to be »smarter« (more skilled) than the other. Now, you can prove that you are smarter (more skilled) than the others by playing The most skill-based card game ever created – Nil Poker. Also, beginner poker players will learn faster how to play good poker (less luck distraction).

Founder´s Message

Why am I cracked so many times? Why so many bad beats? I think everybody that played poker asked himself these questions. Poker (52-card deck) – for example Hold´em – is a game of big variance and small advantage against less experienced players. Basically, this mean that there is some amount of luck involved in poker (52-card deck).

I am playing hold´em poker for around 10 years. The main thing that I discovered while playing poker is that there is some amount of luck always involved when playing hold´em poker (52-card deck). You can say this is fair or not. Well, it is the way it is. It is gambling. In 10 years, I have had a lot of good and a lot of bad poker days (some days I made a lot of money and some days I lose a lot of money). Some days are just »crazy« while playing poker (52-card deck). I am pretty sure you know what I am talking if you are playing poker. Sometimes whatever you do, you lose your money and vice versa. The main reason that I founded a new poker game is because I wanted to make a game that will include less luck and it will be more skill-based than poker (52-card deck). I present you Nil Poker. Nil Poker is the most skill-based card game ever created, and the important thing is that Nil Poker has same poker thrill or even bigger thrill than poker (52-card deck). If you win at Nil Poker you are probably very good player. Good players will win more money against less experienced players in short-term (day) and in long-term (year or longer). The best thing at Nil Poker is that all these books that are written for improving skills at poker (52-card deck) are even more valuable at Nil Poker (as mentioned before, experienced players have bigger advantage for winning over less experienced players).

In my opinion, now (April, 2017) is the perfect time to release Nil Poker. A lot of people are currently complaining how terrible they run at poker (losing) because of all the bad beats and cracks. Actually this is because more and more people are playing poker (poker booms) and people are getting better at playing poker every day. Also, there is almost zero percent advantage of winning for slighty more skilled poker player over slighty less skilled poker player in poker (52-card deck). This is not true for Nil Poker. Nil Poker opens a new, for now, totally undiscovered territory of poker skills that was filled at poker (52-card deck) with bad beats and this territory is pure skill-based. There is lower percentage number of bad beats at Nil Poker. Skilled poker players (even slighty more skilled than opponents) will have a bigger chances of winning at Nil Poker.

Nil Poker is very easy to play, if you know how to play poker (52-card deck). I would like to recommend Nil Poker to every poker enthusiast, professional poker player,…

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I will try to answer you all, but it may take some time, because I am currently very busy person.

I wish you all the skills. Good luck.

MPK – Nil Poker´s founder

Interesting idea but I'm not sure if it will work. It makes poker more of a skill game but at the same time it changes the way we should play. Normal strategies will not work because draws will hit less often and backdoors became unplayable.
Also if we reduce the amount of luck -> 1) it will be more boring 2) ppl will have less tilting problems 3) fish give up easier (they need to get lucky from time to time so they continue playing).
This variant of poker is less attractive to recreational players and that is just the opposite of what almost every poker room is doing at the moment.

Thank you for your feedback la55i. I really appreciate it. All the opinions means a lot to me.
I believe my game is really The most skill-based cards game ever created. Important thing that I was considering when I founded the game is that it needs to have poker thrill.

About changing the way we should play Poker:
The best thing at Nil Poker is that all these books that are written for improving skills at poker (52-card deck) are even more valuable at Nil Poker (as mentioned before experienced players have bigger advantage over less experienced players in Nil Poker). Added Nil Cards only change the outcome of winning cards from 5 to 10 percent (depends on the cards and hands). This percentage may sounds low (same poker thrill), but it makes a huge difference if you play a lot of hands. For example this 5 to 10 percent advantage make break-even players (or even slighty losing) winning players in long run.

Here are some main differences between playing nil poker against classic poker:

– You will hit less flops, turns and rivers in Nil Poker, but your opponents will hit less flops, turns and rivers, too. This means that if you are good poker player, you can always bluff. Nil Poker opens a new, for now, totally undiscovered territory of poker skills that was filled at poker (52-card deck) with bad beats and this territory is pure skill-based. There is lower percentage number of bad beats at Nil Poker.
– There are no classic preflop coinflips (50% vs 50% chances of winning) in Nil Hold´em (AK vs 66 – preflop). The chances of winning with pocket(hole cards) against two over cards (hole cards) are slighty bigger in Nil Hold´em than in poker (52-card deck). This is better, because it is lower possibility to get pocket (hole cards) than two over cards (hole cards). Hands like AK, or AQ (hole cards) lose a bit of value against low pockets (hole cards) but they have bigger chances of winning against two under cards (hole cards; for example 10 and 6) in Nil Hold´em. All those changed chances of winning makes Nil Poker the most skill-based card game ever created.

About meaning of reduced amount of luck:
1.i do not think it will be boring. You can allways bluff, over-play oponnent,... if you are good. I think this means more bluffing and more hero-calling in general at nil poker,..(i think nil poker can make same rake as classic poker: this is just my opinion). Also, rverybody like to brag about bluffing and hero-calling in general - more of this at nil poker.
2. yes i agree there will be less tilting(slighty less).. but sometimes people quit playing if they get too unlucky,..
3.All these less experienced players a.k.a. gamblers(I do not like the word fish) will still have chance to win. They will still win. But slightly less. 5 to 10 percent less. So this will not change the gamblers opinion(i think), as i think it is special thrill by itself if you play the most skill-based card game ever created (or even bigger thrill if you win at this game).

When I was doing all kinds of calculations it really all adds up perfectly.

Also, currently there is huge problem of proving that the classic poker is game of skills. I think that everyboy would have better chance of proving nil poker is the game of skills rather than classic poker(this is just theory).

Thank you again for your opinion. Really appreciate it. I wish you great day.

Slight change of the Nil Poker rules has been made (last and final change of rules;New Card Combination: Nil Poker (4 or more nil cards)). Here are rules explained (how to play Nil Poker):

This change makes Nil Poker even better, more fun to play,.... I believe this game is now perfect. I believe it has the best luck vs skills correlation of all the games in the world. Also, I am one step closer to release online-app so that everbody will be able to try Nil Poker. Please feel free to share your opinions on Nil Poker. Thank you.

Despite the complaints about bad beats and variance good poker players LIKE the luck factor because that is how they make their money. What am I talking about? Professional poker players make their living by getting lucky at the right time. They know how to capitalize on a situation where a bit of luck will make them richer and they know how to minimize their losses when that same luck is used against them.

So taking the luck out of the game might seem like a fine idea but I'm afraid the pro's won't care much for it. I could be wrong of course but something tells me professional players like the current status quo. ;)

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for taking your time, HennieP.
You have interesting opinion.

Poker has really small advantage (good vs bad players) and huge variance (really huge; more than most people think).
For example, you play tournament (with lots of players). There will be really a lot of coinflip situations(50 vs 50) for every one(poker pros too), so what I am saying is that it is impossible to win tournament if you do not get super lucky overall. Even if you minimize luck factor like you mentioned, you will sooner or later need to have super amount of luck to finish in money(bad beats, cracks are included;even not getting cracked with for example kk vs a3, 2 times in a row preflop is around 50 percent chance to win both times with kk). So with normal amount luck, you can not win tournament. All the poker pros were at some point of their carer super lucky. They have had super lucky streak of tournaments at one point of carer. For example, some random person hit a lotto ticket, but that does not mean that he is professinal lotto player or that he knows how to hit lotto with his skills. That just means that he just had a lot of luck. To conclude all what I am saying: There is great possibility that a person with the greatest poker skills in the world is not known to public(with normal amount of luck you can not make it to the richies).

Also, less and less players are playing online poker every year, because poker game is getting even - less money to be made on average every year (every year people are getting better on average; the game is more aggressive on average every year,...). This means people are seeing a lot of bad beats, cracks,... People do not like this, so this shows in decrease of traffic in last years of online poker. Basically what I am saying is in max 5 to 7 years from now, there is great chance that poker game in the current format will not be playable online anymore. A lot of people agree with this prediction. There will be less winners at online poker every year. Winning poker players (persons who are winning constantly) are the persons, who are making all this great stories and are the most important when it becomes to advertising the game of poker as the game of skills.

Nil Poker with 52-card deck(regular card deck) - Another Nil Poker Variant - "crazy poker"

How to play Nil Poker (with 52-card deck):

Playing cards with rank from 2 to 4 (12 cards), have function of Nil Cards;all together there is 52 playing cards: playing cards with rank from 5 to Ace(40 cards) and 12 Nil Cards; with Nil Quads(Nil Poker) combination. Can be played as Hold´em, Omaha,…

More about this nil poker variant: does not changes outcomes of known combinations a lot(flush actually becomes a bit harded to hit,…), new ways to play poker, interesting twists to game, »crazy poker«, very fun to play, different strategies, everybody who owns regular poker deck can play it, this variant is not as skill-based as Nil Poker(65-card deck),……

I still think Nil Poker (with 65 cards; the most perfect poker game in my opinion) is the aeroplane vs other poker variants (walking by foot), but this variant is actually super fun to play (a lot of twists,..).I believe If considering just fun factor, this game(Nil Hold´em(52-card deck)) is more fun than regular holdem.

Please feel free to share your opinion about Nil Poker(65 or 52-card deck). Thank you

I have done some calculations regarding nil poker vs poker(52-card deck)... Hope you find it interesting.

1.)

Rules:

- 50bb each

- Every hand re-buy to 50bb

- Person A is allin every hand

- Person B calls (Person A´s allin), if he has any pair or two cards over 10(player B is closer to GTO at poker(52-card deck) than at nil poker)

- Played as holdem(texas holdem and nil holdem)

- Rake is not included in calculation

- 10.000 hands played

2.)

RULES:

-Person A goes all-in every hand.

-Person B calls Person A´s allin with AA or KK in texas holdem

-Person B calls Person A´s allin with AA, KK or QQ in nil holdem

- Odds of having KK or AA as hole cards are(at texas holdem):0,906 %
- Odds of having QQ, KK or AA as hole cards are(at Nil holdem):0,865%
- Odds numbers are aprox the same(favour texas holdem(over nil holdem))-same good card selection.
- This is example what happens if Person B will call with his 0,906% best hands preflop(in both games).

Please feel free to share your opinions about the game.

Hello, Primrose6789.

Unfortunately, this game is currently not available to play online.Hopefully it will be available to play online in the near future.

Thank you for nice vibe about the game.I really appriciate it.

I calculated some things about this game, because I was wondering how much more skill-based nil poker is (vs poker(52-card deck)), how it will be played and so on. Not to mention, that I am not a fan of bad beats and cracks. But they do happen in today´s poker more than they ever did in the past because playing field is more even- good poker players do not have a lot of skill-advantage anymore(average(losing) players are getting better every year). One of the reasons why I make this game is because I believe this game can put us back in the time of the golden poker ages(I will try to explain this in the shortest way possible.: average(losing) players are today much better than they were in golden poker ages; Nil Poker gives biggest skill-edge between profitable players vs average players(close to what it was in the golden poker ages)).

I played Nil Poker couple of times with my friends(live cash game) and I really like it. I like different strategic twists that Nil Poker has, different tactics and overplaying my opponents(with bluffing and hero-calling),...

I will let you know when the game will be available online.

Thank you for writting your opinion. Every opinion means a lot to me.
