So, the weekly update

First as usual, how is the PokerStrategy Bankroll Challenge going?

2017 Bankroll Challenge
Week 25
Hands 4693
Profit 1 323 €
Current bankroll 13 531 €
Previous bankroll 12 208 €
Starting bankroll 5 386 €
Target bankroll 50 000 €

It was a good week despite a low volume. My birthday was in the middle of the week, so only two days of playing. But Sunday grind brought me a nice victory in one of the tournaments!

Usually when I'm down to 1 or 2 tournaments, I open some poker channel on Youtube. This time Doug Polk "watched" me while I shipped the tournament :f_biggrin: He was commentating his win in PartyPoker Powerfest, which I found very interesting. I'm still surprised that Top pro shows his gameplay and gives advice on the highest stakes FOR FREE! Would be not wise not to take those lessons :f_cool:

I've been experimenting with a warm-up routine for a while and finally made a summary for myself. Feel free to give advice if You have a good idea how to improve it even more!

I really enjoyed this video and included most of those activities into my schedule. Hope this might come in handy for you guys as well :f_thumbsup:

Hope those practices work for you the way as they work for me :f_cool:

One interesting hand came in the tournament, which I described in evaluation forums. I would be happy if You give any insights on it!

One of my gym coaches is coach of a second division football team. But you'd come over with your whole team?
Some colleagues here regularly play some friendly evening matches, but just for fun and out of competition.

It would take all my bankroll to visit Gibraltar with all my team :f_ugly: Maybe in 5 years :f_thumbsup:

Its July 1st, half of the year has passed so fast :sfishg: Good timing to look at the yearly goals!

1. Make 8 poker trips
MPN Austria, January 26-30 - 0€
Kings of Tallinn, February 21-26 - 0€

MPN Malta, April 27-30 - 100€ - just a small mincash in a side event
MPN Manchester, July 20-23 - in progress

Didn't have any trips last month, but I'm going to Manchester in 3 weeks for MPN stop. With a current online form, I hope to grab a new flag to my hendon database :f_cool:

2. Top5 tournament player on Microgaming
I've mentioned that my online form is on the upswing and that skyrocketed my into Top 10 Microgaming Tournament players!

And here is my total graph

Pace is good, GoldStar is just 2k euros away and probably I might catch them in July with a big tournament win :f_smile:

3. Reach Blackmember at PokerStrategy
The deeper we go into the year, the more sceptical I am about reaching the goal. I would need to stop playing tournaments and switch to Spins if I want to become Blackmember, but I'm afraid that would hurt my income greatly. However, I will continue to play some Spins just to keep my Gold PokerStrategy Status for watching videos.

4. Everlasting study of poker
Still spending many hours in the LAB, and that pays off. The latest change in my learning system is that I try to study in the mornings when my head is still fresh. In the past I tried to study just before session, but that has some negative aspects. First, the fatigue showed up in the latest stages where the biggest money distributes. And even in the start of the session I often felt overwhelmed with new information, so switching studies to the early part of the day looks like a good decision. Furthermore, at the end of every day (nigh), I started to make a 5 minute self-reflection what I could have done different to achieve better results or simply to had a better day. Even a small adjustment next day is a positive sign and that leads to the fact that today I am the better person than yesterday!

5. Fully equip new home for an ordinary life
Not much improvements in the last month. Hopefully we can kick in the higher gear and at least paint the walls in July.

6. To maintain strong relationship with others
I had my birthday in July and most of my closest friends came to my party. Good times :f_drink: As for July, I invited my parents to go to Manchester with me. My younger brother is living in UK at this moment, so it will be one week long family reunion :f_love:

7. Increase weight to 85 kg from 82 kg
The supplements work and now I've already achieved the 85 number. However, I want to go even further to 90 kg, and that means 1kg+ in every month. I guess it is achievable but I won't be sad if it stays at 85 kg until the end anyway :f_thumbsup:

8. To hold a healthy body through proper nutrition
Birthday was an exception, but all other days my nutrition plan was followed. Big thanks to my girlfriend who works from home this month and provides healthy food from the early morning :f_love:

9. Finish in Top5 with Top Kickers in Lithuanian VI division
So the first part of the season just ended and here is the league table

We sit comfortably in the middle of the pack, what is quite Ok knowing it is our 1st season in higher division. But I feel my team has more potential and has enough skill to fight for the Top 3 in the second round. 5 points is the difference from the leading teams and I hope we can overcome them!

10. Read 12 books
David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell
Think Rich to get Rich by T. Harv Eker
Gargantua and Pantagruel by Francois Rabelais
Thinking fast and slow by Daniel Kahneman
The 100 A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki

6 books completed and now I am reading a Lithuanian bestseller "Silva rerum". Story about old times in Lithuania, politics, culture events. Different type than most of my books but I need to improve my creative side of the brain as well :f_biggrin:

So, June was one the best months so far! Would give myself the score of 9. Not sure if I can keep the pace to July, but I will give all my best :f_thumbsup:

Another positive week in tournaments field!

2017 Bankroll Challenge
Week 26
Hands 8509

Profit 1 753 €
Current bankroll 15 284 €
Previous bankroll 13 531 €
Starting bankroll 5 386 €
Target bankroll 50 000 €

However, this week I won't be able to play many tournaments as I have evenings reserved for other activities. But mornings are free and I am going to spend more time for studying. 2 weeks left for Manchester MPN stop, so I want to be prepared for it as much as possible!

Good luck all this week :f_thumbsup:

Not a bad week, only had 2 MTT sessions. Tried to win a satellite to Barcelona through PokerStars but it was not meant to be.

Quite loose call from opponent, but winners always right :f_cool:

Also went for Sunday Million, as best players are currently playing Live WSOP. But this time I made a bad call and busted early. Don't do those mistakes :f_ugly:

Spoiler

8,728 pot

BB showed 6♠: A♥: and won 8,728 (4,484 net)
Hero showed J♦: J♥: and lost (-4,244 net)

I though that opponent most likely would bet Turn with Ace, but as a general tendencies - overbet shove River is always Nuts!

Anyway, in both these events I got by winning 10-20$ Satellites, so it was considerably cheap. Still could done much better in both :f_eek:

As for this week, I will mostly spend time preparing for MPN Manchester stop. Only 10 days left until the flight, so need to turn "Beast mode" :f_cool: For that I started using Primed, the app created by the God Fedor Holz. As he points out the importance of mental strength, I want to give it a try as well!

Good luck all!

I love this picture! It fully stands for me, being 12 again and reading Tom Sawyers adventures, admiring him for outsmarting his friends. They are in the end paying him for being able to paint the fence. How clever was he!
Now, go outsmart the oponents and let them pay for you...

Good day Tara, thanks for nice words :f_thumbsup: As I came from cash background myself, I can tell that you will face brutal variance much more often than in cash games. Be strong as most of the days you will go empty handed or barely sneak into the mincashes. But once in a while you will top the field and that feeling will be stronger when winnings in cash, thats for sure! As I believe that cash games are dying fast, turning to MTTs now is a wise move, so keep on improving :f_cool: If you were winning on cash games, than you will certainly will be winning in tournaments as well. As for start, I would try to analyze push/call Nash ranges as it is the biggest difference between those two.

Good luck and update how is it going! :f_thumbsup:
