The last week the weather has been quite good, it's in the middle of raining season, but this week we had lots of sun at our pool. :)
I'm on a tourist visa here now after a visa run in laos. You go to the thai ambassy there and get a stamp in your passport that lets you stay for 2months(+1month extendibility in thailand self so 3 months total).

Our visarun was quite the show tho, we went there by bus, in the night, so we 'thought' we could sleep. Yes we didn't. But we got to the ambassy and it's just waiting in line till you turn in your passport and pick it up the next day. We thought we were early, but we were number ~500 . So the next day we had to wait fuckin long, luckily there was a bar across the street so cheap beers for everyone.
The taxidriver that drove us the day before wanted to bring us back to the border, but he didn't know we were number 500, so he waited like 3hrs in the heat of the sun while we were drinking beer, crossing the street to see how long we had to wait and drink some more beer and he was just watching us.
When we had our passport back, time was getting short, probably less than 2hrs left to get across the border and another 100km to catch our flight. The Laos taxidriver did EVERYTHING he could to get us in time to the border, think he made like 50 traffic violations, overtaking left and right, signing oncoming traffic to slowdown, going through red lights etc. Almost died.
At Laos border we had to switch to a Thai taxidriver ofcourse, the laos guy stays in laos obviously. This taxidriver also thought we were doomed to catch our flight so at first he didn't want to take us. But then 2 asian guys needed to catch a flight at the same time, so for a good price he went full james bond mode. After 3min we were at the border and there were this big queues from all the backpackers/visarunners already before us(we were number 500 remember). We thought OKEEEY this is gonna take atleast 30minutes+. The taxidriver could just walk past everything because there was a foreigner line and a thai line. Taxi driver picked us out of the line, talked to the customs control, and all of the sudden we were in front of the THAI line lol. 2 white guys. All the backpackers looking at us like whuuuuuuuuuuut.
100km to go and the taxiguy just drove like hell, still james bond-mode on. At the airport the 2 asian guys ran like crazy, we ran after them, thinking we needed the same flight, but we didn't so we ran the wrong way at the airport at first. At the same time our names(and others) we're being called to get to their gate for departure. Ran through all of security, like for real. Ran to the plane, got in the plane. Plane was half empty, probably because all the other backpackers didn't have these great taxi drivers.

Sick stories Varune - keep them coming man!

Would love to meet you and your friend in late January 2018. Hope you will come back to Thailand at that time!

Btw, how did you go about the whole visa run thing? I am also considering to stay more then initial 2+1 months just not sure if I have full 90 days to stay or I need to leave Thailand after 60 days?

That arena and massage where you go story made me cry like crazy - it was exact same experience we had in Phuket and we loved it of course

The touristvisa you get with the run is good for 2months. You can extend it by another month in some of the big cities in the immigration building, costs another 1k baht or so. Just make sure you do it within those 60 days, probably near the end, else you're overstaying and they say byebye you're illegal here.

Spoke to some guy at the ambassy who was doing his 4th back-to-back touristvisa. Believe after that they put a different stamp in your passport like: 'this is your last one, you're not a tourist'.

Yea it also depends on what day you get there. We got there on a monday, the embassy is closed in the weekends, so everyone of saturday/sunday also has to go on monday. Making it 2-3times more crowded. Can't really remember but think it was around the same time or 11.

100th is not even a line to the gate, line we had follow started outside the gate.

Hi, I also was in Thailand for the last couple of years but went back to my home country (Netherlands) :) If you experience lousy Internet, best is to choose a provider with either True Move or AIS since those are the biggest ones. I hadn't experienced too much lag with one of those two provides :f_smile:

Good luck on your journey, blog looks very well :f_thumbsup:

Cheers,

Hesticus :f_drink:

Cool, also for this great cardgame? and what cities?
Yea we experienced shit internet at the beginning, they said our condo had "HIGH SPEED" internet, read 5mb/s. In the netherlands, as you know, 100mb/s is normal nowadays lol. And this was for the entire building so it was lagging like fuck.
We both have a mobile monthly unlimited AIS package now for 300baht or so, no more lag.
Think all the thai people have something the same, they're all poor bastards, but all have smartphones and using it 16hrs a day.

Pokerupdate timeeeeeeeeee. :f_drink:

So at the beginning of this blog, i said i wanted to get 110hrs this month. I won't be able to reach this, due to sickness and other stuff. Which is fine, i normally don't get sick often so no point at thinking about it. (only gets you sick quicker). Problem only is, when you're sick your focus deteriorates at a rapid speed. For a normal office job you'd probably still be fine, just slower. With poker you slip into your B game, then C game, till you end up at the Z. So no blame at missing those hours.
The other hours i'm missing are at the end of this month, we didn't have anything planned yet, but this guy from koh tao asked if we wanted to a safari trip of 2days. We said yeaaa cool, so that's 2 more days i can't play.

'Long' story short, tomorrow is my last day of play this month.(maybe plus a few hours before we leave the day after). I'm currently at ~73hrs for the month. which is quite rubbish imo for the days played, averaging 5.6hrs per day played. I wanted this to be ~7, so i'm missing 1,5hr each day(!). Good goal for July.

Also i'm planning on dropping stars entirely, with the rb changes coming up and it's just a regfest, no need to swing my epenis around there on low limits. Could anyone tell me how Ipoker is nowadays? Is it still regfest galore like stars? and how's offpeak there..
Shit thing about stars is, i got a new skrill, now i have a withdrawal limit of 50eu, gonna take ages for me to cash out my roll if they don't change it. already emailed them about it.

No I kind of learned the cardgame during my time in Thailand, which was a great experience :) I lived in Bangkok. Yeah, Internet can really suck from time to time indeed. AIS is a good bet I think. I agree that those Thai people have it pretty good I was working in a manufacturing company and the workers were from Myanmar, even they had phones more expensive than mine Can you imagine :f_biggrin::f_biggrin:

But poker(or gambling in general) is illegal in Thailand, you degenerate. :f_o:

Updatetimeeeeee: Got back from a 2-day safari trip, which was awesome. Did quite alot of hiking so my calves are lit, stairs a disaster for my roommate today.
We were quite lucky with the weather the 1st day as it barely rained and it wasn't sunny, still we were all sweating like pigs. The company was quite stupid in the beginning with picking us up, they said 'we're here', we look at the map, they're literaly a mile away. So we sent our location, which should take less than 5min by car, they took 45min. Thai people.......
After a few hours hiking we ended up in a local village, where there were more dogs than people it seemed. We were adviced to take a stick with us when we wanted to walk about, and together else the dogs would start biting lol. Our food got cooked by this deafmute guy, he couldn't talk and only make weird noises. Atleast the food was ok. Sleeping was a disaster, on a hard floor, with 1 french guy snoring like no tomorrow. When i was used to that, the roosters already started at 6. fml.
Oh well, next day we went back via some waterfalls and saw some elephants which was nice. In the end we went rafting, which sounded fun, till it started pouring rain, fml again.

Pokerupdate;
Withdrew all my money from stars and it's sitting in my skrill nicely. Immediately got my account frozen because i reached some verification limit oops. :f_drink: Simple business of uploading my passport and it was fixed. Also got 200eu back that was floating somewhere on the internet due to a bad transaction.
My Goal for this month is to get 130h of playtime, we're having another week off to go to Pai so less playtime possible.

Today:
Started off great, massive upswing /w getting action on alot of sets, rocketing my profits to 400$ in just 2hrs. But in my 2nd session i dropped a few buyin on NL100 making my netprofit for the day "just" 150$ for 4,5hr of play. Swings on NL100 can be quite brutal, haven't played there steadily for ages so a couple of flips up/down is easily 500+ difference.

Or if people know some nice sites, plz let me know. :)

Oh last time i checked there it was just as reg infested as stars. Could be different on offpeak hours tho.

Pokerupdate: Very swingy, NL100 is smacking me in the face, lots of big pots going back and forth. Also lots of spots where i'm somewhat comitting myself on the flop and fish hits miracle card OTT so my equity suddenly is 3%. So my EVLine is quite skewed, but i know i'm running horrible there, just needs to turn around.
Did manage to play 7,25hr today with some very juicy tables. lost about 100$ and raked 200+, i want more rakeback :(

Hello MY FREINDSSSSSSS, time for a new update

Today I ventured onto the tables for a couple of 2card PLO games. I brought my harpoon with me for some Moby dicks. I hit some whales, i had a  pair  already in my hand and the THIRD card of this kind traveled from the dealers hand ONTO THE FLOP. I HIT THE MOBY DICK RIGHT IN HIS HEART. It was a BIG WHALE /w 65/45 CRAZYYYYYYYY stats. BUT there were 2 BLUE CARDS :diamond::diamond:. We went ALLLLLIN. HE had ANOTHER 2♦ :diamond: cards, what are the odds. The turn gave him ANOTHER :diamond:, meaning he had :diamond::diamond::diamond::diamond::diamond:, which beats 5♦:5♣:5♥:. Dragging me down to sea. PLUS I LOST MY HARPOON AS HE LEFT THE FREAKING TABLE. FML.

All in all a pretty swingy day, but in the end i won a few buyins. NL100 is still smacking me in the face, but i'm back in the green there. Running below EV on 100 and above on lower limits, should even out in the long run.
Tomorrow is our free day as we're leaving to PAI next week. Best to have a free day now instead of halfway, now we still have a full week of grind left after tomorrow.

My blog was almost on the 2nd page, didn't know PS was still this active. :f_p:

Played 6:75 hours today, quite some NL100, had some nice tables running and finally a bit of goodrun there. Still need to win 2-3k to add NL200 again tho.
Also, i saw i played with regulars that are also playing up to NL600, but i saw them making some fundamental mistakes imo. Still they must do alot of other things right if they want to play those stakes.
For the rest of the day i investigated some other sites to play on, some seemed rather dead but affiliate sites were promoting them as good traffic and fishy.
Deposited some money on winamax, it's mainly 3 and 5 handed there, should be interesting.
