Reviewing this hand with icmizer I see it says to fold here, because of the limper, however I think at this limit people are more then fishy enough so that is ok to just shove here?

Thanks

With 8bb effective, AKo, 25% of your stack in the pot and last in place you can shove anytime.
Against a limper you just raise with AKo.

Strange..... I thought that this hand is a clear jam! I would have jammed too. But could be because of the risk premium and the bubble factor. We are near bubble and there you need about 65 % equity against Villains range. The big stack can call you with a wide range of hands and probably AK has not enough equity against Villains range?

I would had only considered ICM if there was already a shove :f_cool:
I don't have the slightest idea why ICMizer folds, still 1 place before the bubble so the bubble effects are not that strong yet i think.

With 5 players left you have about 9 % risk premium, so you need about 9 % more equity against his range than you would need in a CG / chip-EV. How did you define Villains range in ICMizer? Do you have stats on Villain? Can you adjust his range in ICMizer?

Hi brazyd. I think ICMIZER may have allocated an incorrect range for villians limp. AKo with 8bb 5 handed should be a fist pump jam and mostly a fist pump call.

If villain's range is this

we shove with this

This is for me an easy push as well against the limper. Only I would count 1 trap hand in his range as well to make a calculation of a shoving range.

Cheers,

I didn't have stats at the time. I just installed pokertracker trial. stats now included below.

I was just looking at the range that icmizer initially allocated to the limper: 66+,ATs+,AJo+. That seems way to tight for a limp in this place. After adapting as mostlyfolding did it looks a lot better. Thanks for those graphs!

PokerStars - 60/120 Ante 15 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 20.87 BB (VPIP: 19.35, PFR: 13.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 32)
SB: 18.52 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 9.09, 3Bet Preflop: 9.52, Hands: 55)
BB: 26.48 BB (VPIP: 12.16, PFR: 4.29, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 74)
UTG: 37.97 BB (VPIP: 31.25, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 20.00, Hands: 32)
Hero (CO): 8.67 BB

5 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.12 BB) Hero has A♣ K♦

UTG calls 1 BB, Hero raises to 8.54 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, fold, fold

Hero wins 4.12 BB

Note that in the ICMIZER calc above villain calls with his entire limping range. However, our shove range stays pretty much the same, even as villain call tighter. Calling down to as little as 25% of his limp range, the only hands we can add to our shove range are 77 and ATo.

This is probably due to our position. The three players still to act may influence our shove range more that the difference between villains limp and call-shove ranges. Normally this difference has a huge influence on what we can shove correctly, but in this example it seems not to.
