Just a short glimpse on my home "office" ![]()

Went for a risky purple, but I'm very happy with the choice
Although my mom's 1st reaction like "how much cost to repaint?" ![]()
Anyway, what do you guys prefer more: the color or the Lady on the door?

I think it would be better the other way around. If the lady was wearing purple, and the wall would be painted in a pale orange instead. But hey, happens.

New episode released in psychology sector
Even if you consider yourself strong in mental side, it is never a bad idea to check if you are still operating/thinking in right attitude

Bad news my friends.. I had a losing week in the past 7 days
Probably my first this year ![]()
2017 Bankroll Challenge
Week 34
Hands 2565
Loss 173 €
Current bankroll 19 424 €
Previous bankroll 19 597 €
Starting bankroll 5 386 €
Target bankroll 50 000 €
Only played Spins, and this time it didn't go my way. The biggest multiplier in the whole week was x6, and even when I spun those, I didn't find much luck in play.

What's more concerning is that I should have lost more according EV. Although ITM% was not so bad, certainly there is a room for improvement this week. That's why I decided to spend much time this week analyzing SB play when Button folds. Have no charts which hands to limp/fold, limp/call or limp/raise so hopefully I will prepare a plan this week. If you have any suggestions where should I look for information regarding this topic, I would be very grateful if You shared it ![]()
I will leave you with this super goal by Asensio, who saved Real Madrid once again
Found some nice diagrams about tasks to do if you consider yourself micro/medium or high stakes player. Will prepare weekly plan myself according to this
I'll certainly try to catch you at the tables on 15s :f_cool:.
$EV in HM2 is not very useful for spins. You should look at your chipEV (allin-adjusted chips won) per game, which translates directly into expected ROI.

I can't find that stat on Holdem Manger. The closest is "Chips(EV adjusted)" which I should divide by games played?

Exactly. There's no built-in stat for that in HM2 (PT4 has custom stats for this). But it's easy to calculate once you add the total chipEV to your report.
Ok, I can calculate manually then ![]()

27592 chips divided by 611 games = 45 chips per game
Don't know how to interpret it anyway
Summer has just passed, transferring a marathon stick to chilly autumn
Personally the last month was not the best as my main playing MTT software was out of reach and so I had to switch to Spins instead of tournaments. Although I did quite ok in those 3way games, but hopefully I will spend more hours on tournaments soon again
And as in the past, here is a short review of the last month
1. Make 8 poker trips
MPN Austria, January 26-30 - 0€
Kings of Tallinn, February 21-26 - 0€
MPN Malta, April 27-30 - 100€ - just a small mincash in a side event
MPN Manchester, July 20-23 - 4th in side event - 1500€ (1350 pounds)
MPN Tallinn, Octobet 19-22 - in progress
Haven't traveled anywhere and probably stay online in September as well. Unless I find some last minute deals!
2. Top5 tournament player on Microgaming
Not a surprise I dropped some places being inactive. Top5 have distanced away greatly, so I need some(many) chasing to do ![]()

3. Reach Blackmember at PokerStrategy
Seems impossible task now. Increased the volume on Spins, but still far away from reaching it on time. I hope to collect enough points for this month to grab Platinum Star at PokerStrategy, what seems like a good volume goal.
4. Everlasting study of poker
Still on track, like every other month. And probably my studying time is more structured and more effective than before. I still find some areas where I could improve (being more active in strategy discussions, hand reviews, database analysis) and hopefully I can see a progress here in September.
5. Fully equip new home for an ordinary life
The workers were busy all month in our house, so very happy to see much work done. The walls are already painted and that means we finally can take our cat back home. At this moment he is enjoying his life in my parents home, but soon my "lucky charm" will sleep on my legs again
Isn't he adorable? ![]()

6. To maintain strong relationship with others
Every Wednesday me and my 3 best friends decided to meet and do some power exercises near my home. That way I can spend time with the people I enjoy the most and maintain a healthy lifestyle at the same time. The only drawback is that they are much stronger than me
But you know, I'm not the best, so I have to try harder
Also this month European basketball championship is taking place and most matches will be seen with a group of friends. I'm not the biggest fan of basketball to be honest, but I try not to miss the biggest competitions. And Lithuania is quite good at shooting the basket, so many people expect our nation to finish in Top 3
7. Increase weight to 85 kg from 82 kg
I really need to buy scales as for now I can only guess my weight
But looking at the mirror, I see that I gained some kg, just don't know how much. Next month I will put exact number, I promise ![]()
8. To hold a healthy body through proper nutrition
All good there
Don't eat too many bad stuff, don't drink too many alcohol (or any at all). Once in a while I have a "cheat day", but those come very seldom. My weekly plan on eating is almost always fulfilled, so no need to change anything.
9. Finish in Top5 with Top Kickers in Lithuanian VI division
The second round started! We lost one, and won one. Not the worst result, but I really hoped to grab two wins. This is the table:

We still lie in 5th place, which is the minimum I want to achieve. This Sunday we have a very important game against our upwards neighbors, so we can be back in the battle for medals with a win. Very look forward to the match!
10. Read 12 books
David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell
Think Rich to get Rich by T. Harv Eker
Gargantua and Pantagruel by Francois Rabelais
Thinking fast and slow by Daniel Kahneman
The 100 A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
Silva Rerum by Kristina Sabaliauskaite
Silva Rerum II by Kristina Sabaliauskaite
Still on track. After some romans, I'm back with some psychology reading. Saw in one videos that coach recommends "Greenberger, Dennis. Mind over mood : change how you feel by changing the way you think" so I'm giving a try.
If I had to give myself a grade for August, I would give 8. Haven't played my strongest format, but still managed to make some $$$ at Spins. Other areas of life were progressing as well, so have to highlight it as positive
Hopefully September brings even more luck and joy ♠_thumbsup:

Breakeven chipEV calculation for 6% rake at 15$ spins: (500 / (1-0.06) - 500 = 32
So at least you know you have to beat +32 chipEV
Actual evROI calculation is slightly more complicated and I let PT4 do the work.

Some profit from Spins as I didn't have energy to play on Sunday. This week I plan to have at least 2 MTT sessions, so hope to bang something
Been a while since my last tournaments, so it might be not easy as in the past. Hence I already had one sweat session with a good MTT Reg and one is to go on a later part of the week. As always solitaire work on my game is also on the line.
Poker aside, football is not going so well. Lost a very important game with my own club. National team suffered 2 heavy defeats against Scotland and Slovenia
At least Europe Basketball Championship is going well so far ![]()
It looks like I haven't lost my tournament luck during the holidays ![]()
1st good sign - I will have a spare bullet in MPN Tallinn

Same late evening..

Unfortunately lost HU, but had more than 1 opportunity to walk away with a win ![]()

PokerStars run a nice "Husain Bolt edition" promotion where you can win some small prizes when completing the challenges. This time I had to win 2 hands on Zoom holding A9. Done in 10 minutes, reward? 25$ ![]()

Good week, both Spins and Tournaments, though the biggest €€€ came from MTTs. Plus I won two satellites for the big events in UCOP at Microgaming which I will try to use this week. And of course extra seat at MPN Live Tallinn event in October is a cherry on the cake ![]()
For this week, nothing special is planned, maybe I will try one major event on PokerStars just to try my luck.
Btw, we won our league game on Sunday ![]()
