Great movie indeed.

For the KK hh I'd like to bet 1/3-1/2 flop.

Thank you Floxy, I was thinking about that but then I remembered that I had checked marginal hands oop so I checked to be balanced but this hand indeed requires protection, on the other hand: Who is gonna call? Will a worse hand call? I decided to check in order to be balanced and to disguise my top set so that I can get value on turn and river.

It's true that if you want to check a set, it's better to take KK than QQ or 77 for the removal effect, but here I think we can bet them all (that's part of the perks of sizing small on monotone flops) without debalancing too much our checking range because we'll have lots of pair + high spades that we're gonna check with.

Even if you don't feel like you're valuing that many worse hands tell yourself that you can take the pot right away instead of, say, waiting for a fourth spade to come, giving a winning flush to a small PP with a spade on it or other random stuff like that.
Moreover when you make a full you'll have already built the pot etc.

For the HU hand it's not that awful, ok it's a litle spewy but it's hard to see him on AA here lol.
Does he limp often ? I'd have raise preflop, K4s seems enough that deep in HU vs a fish.

Hi Floxy,
yeah, Villain limped and checked (BB) every hand. He never raised but always defended against a raise. Yeah the hand was spewy and totally over the top. Too bad that I lost patience and got hungry and tired. Had been playing poker for 3 hours, multitabling. This one was the last tourney to finish.

Yeah, the fourth spade we "fear" with the KK-hand and 2 Villains in the pot: a flop bet is not wrong for sure!

Today I´m gonna play MTT as well and will use one of the 50€-tickets I won in the 1K Series freeroll. Gonna play the 25.000€-Sunday-Premium on Everest. I don´t expect to have any chance :f_ugly: - but I´m gonna try it and see how it is to play an MTT at those stakes. Besides today is the 5 K Series freeroll where you can win tourney tickets again. Gonna play that one too. And I guess there will be another 1 K Series ticket for me too on Everest, it´s rakeback time soon. _thumbsup:

Mental progress report

The coaching with Honigmund38 not only made me a better postflop player. I don´t know how and when it happened, my fear of variance is gone. I have to admit (and this is embarrassing) that I often used to look several times at the lobby of my MTTs, always looking up, when do we get ITM. :f_ugly: Of course then I got nervous and scared and wanted to get ITM! lol! Scr*** it! No way! I wanna get to the FT. I don´t look at the lobby all the time anymore, only when I think we are near ITM because then ICM counts and you can put more pressure on Villains. If I bubble? - Then so be it! I wanna WIN and not only get ITM.

Variance is a part of poker which you can never "delete" and if you don´t try to win chips then you won´t! You get blinded out, right? This doesn´t mean you have to be spewy, but this means that now and then at the right time you must take a chance, jam, call, put pressure, try to accumulate chips and/or double up. If you bust - so be it!

Good morning coffee break report

..and I need a lot of coffee today, played MTTs on Everest, as I mentioned the 5K Series freeroll, the 50€-Sunday Premium as well as a 250€ guaranteed 6-max turbo.

5 K Series

This story is quickly told. Unfortunately I busted out early with Q♥ Q♣ against J♦ 3♠ .... :f_ugly:

25.000€ guaranteed Sunday Premium

I was surprised: I could keep up with Villains! I defended my BB well, bluffed and stole successfully, had really good post-flop-games with Villains. But: I couldn´t make a real hand and win a big pot. With A♥ Q♦ I had to chop with another Villain who also held A♠ Q♣ _frown:. After a bunch of junk hands I got T♠ T♣ and lost a flip against A♥ Q♣.

Can´t post the hands unfortunately, because I have the Small-Stakes-version of PT4, this one just tracks tourneys until 22€. Too bad! _frown:

250€ guaranteed 6-max turbo

In this tourney I ran well and played well, except for 2 big bloopers  and one of them happened right before the final table. So I just missed it and placed only 7th out of 253 players.

Results for the week 42

Tourneys: 107
CG-Hands: 120
Result: + 25,47 €
BR: 240,10 €
Goal: 1.000€

Thank you , Habit. Yeah, next time final table because I will never ever make this mistake again!!!!!!! Fortunately PT4 crashed and didn´t track the last hands of this tourney so I have a great excuse not to show this stinky rotten egg (oh dear, I was sooo angry with myself!). :sifflote: :sifflote: :sifflote: :sifflote:

i think we have to make those very expensive mistake once. than we will never make the same mistake again.
I 3 barrel bluffed a guy on a 25x multiplier spin... will not do it ever again. for sure he had toppair (unfoldable hand) :/
will never do it again (not even in 2x multiplier)

I 3-barrelled on a marginal hand in a way-ahead-way-behind situation and looked into the stone cold nuts! I tilted. I got over-confident! This is what happened right before the FT. Bye bye chips, bye bye equity!

I got a surprise for you. I haven´t told this so far because I didn´t know if it was okay. With permission _love: I tell you the breaking news: I get coached now by "Honigmund38" who already was a couple of times at Collins coaching, is also a well known user here and is crushing especially the 4-max tourneys on Stars. He´s also German so it´s nice to get coached in native language. _love:

So, well, yes! Primrose is improving with the help of Honigmund38. Nice, isn´t it? _love:

SWEET! (That guy totally crushes, so coaching should be a massive boost to your game.) :f_cool:

Yeah, that´s really cool! I can see my progresses already. It´s WAY easier now to cumulate chips in MTTs as well as in SnGs. And it´s so much more FUN to play poker like this! Slowly I´m loosing my fear of variance. I´m discovering how much FUN poker can be if you don´t try to avoid marginal situations and variance. I´m seeing it now as part of the game (which it is) and not as "my enemy". I learnt, how interesting and thrilling poker can be. Awesome! Hope gonna crush like him one day but until then it´s a long way but I´m willing to go it.

Last but not least: I could increase my edge over Villains and even in the 50€-MTT Sunday Premium I already could keep up with those Villains and realized that this way it´s not impossible to win such a tourney if I run a bit better than on Sunday (see my Monday report above). Playing Sunday Premium was super-interesting!

I still have another 50€ ticket and got 2 more tickets for 1K-Series now so I can win more cool tournament-tickets.

Eeeew!

Ugly session today, under EV, most hands didn´t hold. Didn´t loose much but it was annoying. Was running quite bad, hope tomorrow I´m gonna run better.

Eeeew part II (non poker related)

The next "eeew" came on my bike tour. Was happy to do sports again, now it´s tennis off season so I hopped on my bike and let´s go. Well, the weather was not so nice but not too bad (overcast, a couple of rain drops). After about 15 km, it started to rain cats and dogs! A storm came and the wind was very strong. Lol I was pedalling against the wind like a hamster in a wheel :f_biggrin: Then it started to hail, the wind blowing ice cold hail in my face, I got soaking wet. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!

When I came home I had a nice hot turnip soup with ginger and took a nice warm bath. Now I´m ready for Collins coaching.... _thumbsup:

Keep your 28°C and the humid air! I hate that too! Can´t stand heat! I´m sooo glad that the summer is over here! I´d rather have rain and hail in my face than heat and sunburn! :spit:

Duh if you dislike heat that much I invite you all in my french moutains near switzerland, you'll get all the cold, wind, rain and snow you want ! :P
(As for me I'll take the heat though. Just to know what it's like for once. I'm curious.)

Glad to see you're finding the fun back out of the game Prim, it's always better with coworkers and it's important not to watch your short term result too much indeed.
