NL2 to ???

I know what you're saying about learning the fundamentals at nl2, I just feel it may be more profitable to save up and deposit a roll of nl5

Yea well if you are already feeling comfortable at NL2 and are making money, maybe it is ok to just deposit more and go play NL5.

Hello you guys, I am sorry for not posting so much in the last few days but I can confirm I am back on the cash game grind. I decided to move my roll away from the shark infested pokerstars waters (Also there new rewards system is total trash, I cant be the only player to leave there since then), I am now playing on sky poker which has always been a site I've enjoyed playing on, lots of fish and some decent weekly tournaments.

I busted my entire stars bankroll playing some stupid MTT and SNG, so I was able to make a massive deposit of £25 (SkyPoker uses GBP as currency) also there lowest stake is 4nl so going to be pretty touch and go at first, they also have a pretty good rewards system, you only need to get 50 pts per week to qualify for daily 1k freerolls throughout the week which is pretty good value.

Quite a big issue with SkyPoker is of course the banned use of trackers and they don't have a hand number counter so almost impossible to judge a winrate which kind of sucks, I'm going to include time played instead of hands now I guess, I'm 4 tabling and its six max so I am probably getting somewhere like 200-300 hands an hour on avg I guess.

Just played another session very swingy, ran Aces into a flopped set of Jacks, ran Kings into flopped two pair on a board of 569r which is very hard to get away from :f_o:.

Used £1 of my BR too make a sports bet so fingers crossed for that lol.

I also made the 50 vip points in only my second session so got the 5 1k freerolls next week locked up, very good structure for a freeroll too, plays as a turbo starts with 2k chips, blind increase every 5 mins, 30 mins of late reg and max players of 2.5k so cant get out of hand like a normal freeroll does.

Hey everyone, been away from the virtual felt for a while! now im back and raring to get my teeth stuck into a grind!

Going to turn my 2nl zoom 6max graph around and be a minimum 5bb/100 hand winner by 30k hands.

Will be back posting after every session and will try and average 30-40k hands a month minimum!

First session back.

Felt a little rusty, graph is swingy was a bit difficult at first getting used to the speed of 4 zoom tables again.

Glad to be back, Im also trying to take a break every 45 mins of play to stop myself tilting it off, when I used to play I would make all the money during the first 30 mins then slowly tilt and splurge it off during the next hour.

Setting a time limit for a session is a good idea.. I do this also. Before I just played as long as I felt that I could concentrate well but then I realized that I really play weaker after one hour or so. Having a short break every 45 min works nicely for me

Yeah I agree it seemed to work, I was originally planning on using the break to review hands from the session.

I decided it would be better to just switch my brain off from poker completely for 10-15 mins so I can come back sharper

I see many problems in the hand above.
First is that from these positions this would be standard 4bet and stackoff.
And then that flop raise is a bit problematic. You should usually raise with very strong hands and then some weak hands and draws to balance your range. If you raise all TPTK too your range will be too value heavy, villain knows you don't have enough bluffs here and he should continue only with a very strong range. Also your raise sizing is a bit small.

River is quite stupid. He leads when the flush completes which looks very strong. Normally I would fold here but now you have to win only about 17%. But I'm still not sure if you will win even that. Would be weird if villain played AQ,AJ,AT etc.. this way. He has 2pair hands, sets, straights, flushes in his range.

This is a very good breakdown, thanks for highlighting my mistakes, street by street. I normally always call to see a flop with AK AQ in 2nl zoom I just thought they arent great enough to stack off with at a zoom table.

Zoom is actually surprisingly fishy at the moment. Could be because of the card match thing or something.
I'm not sure if NL2 players are that much positionally aware that they know to 3bet,4bet more on late positions, but I would still expect NL2 guys to make some funny shoves here

Yeah im ducking zoom for now, too rusty to be playing that many big pots at once.

Ok I've decided at least for now to go back to the regular tables over zoom, just feel like I need to get back into the swing of things after a few months off.

Just finished a quick session 6 tabling at 2nl 6max, more than capable of 9-10 tabling which I will do now only done 6 to get a feel for it again.

Much easier waters to swim at the regular tables than at zoom, the variance in zoom can be mentally exhausting.

Just played a quick 45 minute evening session, feeling kinda tired and with work looming I need me some sleep.

Was the first time 9 tabling since I last updated this thread in August or something, was RIDICULOUSLY OVERWHELMING, I mean god I could barely look away from the screen without 2 tables timing out!!! Felt good to be back and grinding though, ran hotter than the sun too! had one table where I was sitting on a $12 stack

Hello anyone still reading this!!

Just finished my evenings session, it went amazing to tragic to okay im happy!

Started off really well was up 5bi by 700 hands, decided to take a 10 minute break and once I returned I dropped 6bi almost immediately but I didn't let that stop me and ended up the day 3bi in profit

My bankroll is currently $40.38 after depositing $20 on saturday, so things are well underway as far as im concerned

My session yesterday went from tragic to "well, at least I didn't end up losing more than 200bb"

My most losing hands were QQ,KK and AA during that session... I got about 8x each so it is weird that all of them were min -60bb but that happens
