Do minimum 10 hh evalutions daily.
Write range vs range for each hand. Write how you expect opponent to play vs different bet sizings and anticipate tendency how he would play if he was aggressor. Basically practice both scenarios and milk all the difficult spots 1st and move to easier ones later.
In 6 months time you will be beast. You have access to coachings, advanced huds and strategy material, just need to improve post flop range vs range and you can move up fast.
I do this now daily to improve my win rate and minimize variance as well as work on db analysis for my and fields tendency.
thanks for the tip pedrag ![]()
yeah this is what I am basicly doing at work on hands others posted and for sure I review my difficult spots at home.
what I did not do until now is looking at it from the different perspective (me/him agressor).
quick update before the month ends.
holy moly. I wanned to up my volume (and still want for december) and start 3 tabling (on monday).
what happened since than is beyond believe for me.
I only managed to play 75 spins in the last 2 days and had to stop both times because I was close to ultra monkey tilt.
After 10ish straight losses I went down to my normal 2 tables as it did not seem to work out and I burned money like crazy (way to fast for my brain to handle it).
On the first day I kept to my shedule (which is hours now not number of spins) and played 2 hours. I dropped 30 buyins in ~52 spins and played counterstrike through half of the (mental) coaching because I was so super mad and couldn't pay attention in the beginning, usually I would instantly close my game when coachings begin (and get banned 7 days! ♦).
In that evening I decided I will stop every day now when I drop 10 buyins and I wont try to play 3 tables for now (even tho I dont think that this is the reason why I lost as I played mass table in the past (cg + tournaments).
I had -300chipev/tour through 35 spins, which made me ask if jamming any 2 would result in a better chipev? Sadly I was not mad enough to find out ![]()
Mb someone has a significant enough sample on that?
let me know.
Yesterday I went to the gym before grinding, went with a fresh mind on the pokertables and lost 10 buyins in an hour of grind, I felt like I played good and villains just kept getting there with alot of setups and probably a few spots I could find a fold with a better mindset at that time. Still overall I was OK with my game.
Right afterwards we had handyreview coaching.
In the past I made it to my personal task (so I can use my working time useful) to post my humble opinion on every hand posted there. (unless there's already a post that I think is the same as I would play it, than I just give it a thumps up). I am using alot of time on those hands and try to "solve" them to the best of my ability.
As it turned out my complete approach to the game seems to be bullshit as every comment was basicly wrong and the complete opposite would be the correct play. I felt really really horrible... like someone pointing with his finger at me saying "haha, this guy sucks at poker".
I am still mad (at me as it's the coaches job to point out good from wrong
) but I hope I can turn it arround into motivation.
Not really sure what I should be doing at this point. Giving up for sure is no option. I even think about going back to learning the simplest basics of spins (again).
Maybe I will ask SL if I should (can) go down a limit. well i guess once they check up on my results they will send me down anyways soon.
another embarassing task ahead of me: writing my monthly recap with a graph as wild as charly sheen at his prime, ending with a huge fat red minus. yey
I hope I can put in 2 more days of quality poker that last longer than 1 hour each day.
Positive things out of this post:
-I can maximum lose 20 more buyins until the end of the month! ![]()
-I have alot of areas I can work on as everything in my game sucks! ♦
-I have alot of spare time as it won't take long to reach -10 buyins a day
yey positivity! ♦
10 days in the month, half of my monthly volume already played. playing great poker! (for me at least)! I was running good in the beginning of the month. Right now I am fighting a small downswing which is no big deal as i have enough buyins to compensate it. It is alot better for me to know that I can beat a limit and run bad than when I question myself if I am capable of beating the limit + running bad (pure horror).
sadly I checked my chipEV + graph on saturday, so i kept checking until yesterday but wont look at it again until at least next weekend.
I am getting close to the area where I should get promoted for the next limit. But I feel I am not ready yet. I would rather spend some more time (rest of the month) on my current limit to gain some more confidence for next year.
I hope I can keep up the volume so I will have a free xmax-new years eve time where I can relax without spending any thoughts on poker (unless mb reading a book in the evening. Just want to spend as much great time with the family of my girlfriend (we visit them). and have a great xmas and new years eve. really really looking forward to it.
Gotta finish my volumetarget in the next 2 weeks tho. but I had a very strong 10 days in december so it should be easily achieveable ![]()
40 hours at the tables already. attended every single coaching but one (had family invited on a friday) and watched ~5 ish videos (every day when there was no coaching).
doing bad at the gym part tho.
went to try squats again. next day extreme kneeproblems. I was scared that I would have to stay home again (last time I wasnt allowed to work for full 3 weeks and almost had to get surgery). glad problems went away next 3-4 days. the really sad thing is, that it's really the squats that are to tough on my knees (even tho i used only 30 kg which is something my ferrets can easily squat!)... this sadens me alot as i had a very competetive bodybuilding past and I know that my workouts basicly are only 1/4 effiecient than with squats.
But as it is with everything in life, I just have to make the best out of the given situation. I will try to compensate the lack of squats (and other leg-workouts) with stiffed leg deadlifts. they are not hard on knees and will still give some workout to my legs. I will continue this way until mid january when I will have surgery on my left foot. Once I am back in shape afterwords I might spend some time thinking about if it makes sense to get surgery for my knee aswell or if I just have to life with it for now (until it gets worse).
Problem is my other foot is not in the greatest shape, too and I might need surgery there aswell in next 1-2 years. Mb I can delay it some more as when my left foot is getting better it might take stress from my right one. Only Time will tell!
For Poker I have 13 more days to finish 750 spins. thats 58 spins per day which is basicly 3 hours of grinding per day. Yet I think I will grind in most of it on the weekends. Hitting that number should be easily doable even if I continue running bad and have to stop often after 10 Buyins lost. During the weekend I lost that amount both days but felt so comfortable playing that I continued the grind after giving it some time of taught. As long as I am 100% sure I can give it still my best there no problem with this approach.
workwise I feel somewhat exhausted and unmotivated. yet so much stuff still needs to be done. I do not want to leave behind a mess when I will be in hospital.
Plenty of stuff noone in my company can do so I at least should be up-to-date when I will be gone for 2-3 months.
good news! I broke the curse and won my first 10x multiplier yesterday!
for this month I am 1/8 10x + 25x combined.
I don*t think that I am playing poorly when I hit bigger multipliers but I just run bad in those tournaments so far.
Last week of grind for this month. Things are not looking to bad. I only would need to play 150 more spins to reach my volume target but for sure I will continue grinding until the last minute ![]()
last working week also. yay. not motivated at all anymore but gotta push through.
If you feel the same just make the best out of it. some easy time to relax ahead!
On the 4th of September I joined spinlegends.
I started on 1$ spins without any knowledge „how to play“ this format. (Only some general poker knowledge)
Now, not even 4 months later I reached 15$ Spins.
At this point I would love to thank all the spin legends team for taking care of my progress.
Special thanks to epistokrat for bringing me out of the silver group as fast as possible.
Also special thanks to coffeyey and paco for teaching me „good poker“ since joining the gold group!
Special thanks to arne and Steffen, too. They kept me from going insane when things didn’t go as planned and improved my mental game a lot!
And last but not least special thanks to our discord group! You guys always have an open ear for my problems and try to help me to solve them!
Being promoted to 15s was the best Xmas gift I could wish for and it really means a lot to me! I am so proud it is hard to express! Really looking forward to hitting the tables in January after returning from my
Xmas/New Years vacation!
Happy new year! December recap will be released a little late this month as I am still on vacations
should be up 3rd January!
Glad to see you're doing so well man! Don't visit here too often anymore but looks like everything's working out fine for you atm. Keep it up!
Happy new year and enjoy the rest of the holidays
thanks tumlex and Tino (nice to know you are still checking in every decade
)
december recap is up (little late)
Great stuff Habit! You'll be fine at the 15s as long as you keep your head!
I understand the urge to play more tables but be patient and it will come with time.
You'll be better off playing 2 tables at the 30s rather than 4 tables at the 15s!
since moving up to 15$ things just don't want to go my way,
down overall only ~300$ but it feels alot more and worse,
solid chipEV of 10 over ~500 spins.
I am still attending every coaching possible (probably cant today as gf has bd), studying alot and also playing decent volume so i am still in the believe I can turn things around before I have to move down to 7s again.
Still already mixing in 7s when I have a bad day (pretty much everyday in january so far).
My mood is still positive even tho I make alot of "sad jokes about donating money".
since my last update I kept running the same on 15s.
So yesterdays plan was to ether go broke or play 200 spins on 7s. (+ watching a video)
was down to my last buyin, but then recovered and managed to end in the solid green.

regained some confidence and bankroll to take another shot at the 15s today and hopefully run a little better.
One might think maybe I am just not better than delivering 10 chipEV on 15s day after day. (that's what I started to think myself before injecting logic)
But its just not rational to think that over a bigger sample of 7s (still not 100% telling for sure) with >60 chipEV dropping to 10 on 15s is normal.
Sure the playpool is tougher and dropping down mb 9-20 would be normal, but not in this dimension.
My last 10 buyin shot was over after 10 spins.
I am confidently promising right here and now that todays attempt won't be shorter
Why are you restricting yourself to only a 10 BI shot at the 15s?
I would personally play as many games at the 15s as possible to build up some experience and sample so that you can gauge a real understanding of how you may actually perform at the 15s.
10Bis swings (and more) are pretty standard even with a 70-80 chipev at the 15s so you really need to get that sample size in.
busto + 1.
waiting for further instruction and money.
overall ~550 spins on 15$ with 0 ChipEV kappa.

I know it sucks now but everyone goes through the same situations. Maybe play 7s to regain some confidence whilst working on your game and your next shot will be there in no time.

thanks for your kind and motivating words.:f_thumbsup:
Will for sure continue grinding and studying.
January Recap finally done. sorry for being super late this month but it had reasons ![]()
