SB: $5.42 (108.4 bb)
Hero (BB): $5.05 (101 bb)
UTG: $4.36 (87.2 bb)
MP: $6.35 (127 bb)
CO: $1.88 (37.6 bb)
BTN: $7.85 (157 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K♠: A♥:
UTG folds, MP calls $0.05, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.22, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.73, MP folds, BTN calls $0.51

pretty standard preflop

Flop: ($1.53) 8♥: 9♣: 3♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.74, Hero calls $0.74

I don't think a conti-bet makes sense here as he can call all his broadways and overpairs
he goes for half POT, do you like the call or should we simply fold?

Turn: ($3.01) K♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $6.38 and is all-in, Hero folds

I decided to call and as we hit TPTK but also a FD arrives I try to get cheap to showdown
then villain pushes...easy fold here I guess? Did I get myself into this by playing bad OTF?

Results:

Spoiler

$3.01 pot ($0.12 rake)
Final Board: 8♥: 9♣: 3♣: K♣:
Hero mucked K♠: A♥: and lost (-$1.47 net)
BTN mucked and won $2.89 ($1.42 net)

We have just the two overcards and no draws to improve our equity, so I don’t like check-call OTF. I prefer check-fold or bet-fold.

As I think he’s rarely giving up here if we bet, then I think check-fold is better. We can’t win every pot.

The flop I would bet/fold against a random player.
Otherwise I would give up if you don’t want to Cbet here.
His turn shove looks weird, but we only beat a bluff here.

Cheers,
