Online Day 1s are a brilliant idea, especially where (like here) you are straight in the money if you qualify for day 2. If you hit the rail early, you know you have something banked to cover those travel and hotel expenses which just rub salt in the wound when you are sent packing early doors.

So if I get there via the online day 1 , I can look forward to my customary walk of shame with a little more equanimity.

I like online day 1s, because sometimes you travel to another country, have to pay for hotel and travel expenses and just 2 hours into the event you bust. When you play a online day 1 you are already itm while still playing the most exiting part live in a real casino. Its a good mix between live and online poker and a great chance to make it to a cool event.

playing day 1 of a tournament online is a great way of "qualifying" (in this case you're already ITM which is even greater) for a live event that you'll probably won't be able to play because of your regular work. If you qualify, I guess most employer normally would agree and give you a few days of work to go to that place. This way, you don't have to take a holiday without knowing you'll be ITM. I mean, what better way to be able to say: "I travel there, play, and already bring money back" - that's just perfect. I don't know what negative point could be mentioned, I don't see any.

I like online day 1s because you can play the main part of the tourney (the least important one) from your home but when money is made, when every good desicion will make you a few hundred bucks you can actually look at your opponents and know who's money your taking!

Online day 1 is a lovely idea because travel expenses might be as much as the buy in, making a bit too expensive without guaranteed pay out. Also funny timing since i vety recently started playing at 888 and was just checking flight prices to different cities and thinking about live poker at casino's.
