Hey hey heeeeeeeeey. (Carlos matos)

In the middle of moving places, playing whenever i can this month due to obligations i don't have alot of days possible to play this month. It'll be hard to hit 100hrs. Can't see i'm exactly happy about my play the last week, it's not bad, but not great either.
It's bad because i made some oldskool spews that normally don't show up in my game anymore.
On the other hand i'm playing way reggier line-ups and feel i'm holding my own. :)

Update on the moving: Waited the entire Freaking day for my furniture. They said they would deliver between 12 and 4 (great timeframe i know). Just to get a call they would be there at 5. Once it arrived in a huge truck, they told me they couldn't deliver because the truck couldn't get in the street due to it being too big. So i waited the ENTIRE FUCKING afternoon for nothing.

Still up for the month tho. :f_drink:

Just got home from the Unibet open in London. My first live tournament, busted deep into day 1b by the former champion of the bucharest 2017 stop. Got it in UTG+1 vs UTG+2 his squeeze after flatcalling UTG's raise with AKss vs AQ for a ~top5 stack and 100bb+ at the end of the day, the guy rivered a queen.
Don't know what to think about the field, i only sat at one table, from a cashgame players' perspective they were making a lot of mistakes. From a MTT players' perspective things sort of were justifiable. I didn't really know how to adjust my ranges and didn't feel the urge to splash around in small pots.
Also met Louis van Gaal on the way home, sat on the same plane as him which was kinda fun. He wanted to take a picture with me, so i had to oblige.

Back to the grind tomorrow!

Long time no update.

Feel like the regular style of blogging(typed words) isn't as appealing as a vlogging style how other markets are currently working. Everyone wants instant gratification nowadays, people's focus span has deterioated rapidly the last 5 years with the ever improving smartphones and other electronics. People just want to sit back and consume a video rather than to interact with one and another. If i take this view to pokerstrategy i can see alot of blogs with just the creator posting 90% of the posts and some people responding. Back in the day this would've been atleast 50/50 with the more active blogs and the bigger community feeling there was back then. This probably is one of the reasons i only update so scarcely, another is i don't want to share my tactics so publicly, which would already cut my 'possible' posts by 50% or more.

Few other reasons tho i haven't been updating for a while:
Moved in to my new place for 95% or more. Some things i need to get used to again: Cook my own dinner, wash dishes and clothes. Not that it's hard or anything, just costs some more time every day. Also i'll be picking up my new GRIND STATION or MONEY PRINTER tomorrow, been playing on this shitty laptop for way too long now. Can't wait for the dualscreen 24" again, picked up some cheap steelseries mousepad+logitech gear to go with it today. Prices between 'gaming'(razer etc) and regular keyboards is just insane.

What i've been up to the last week?
-> Been snowboarding in France for a week, total newb, normally i always went skiing but wanted to try snowboarding. lend some gear of a friend, wrecked his board a bit. :f_cry: Was a great experience, eventough alot of things went wrong. I took some cheap group classes, problem here was: everyone was french, i'm the only dutch guy, only french i know is: 'voulez vouz coucher avec moi, ce soir?' One girl was married and already had a kid. The other one in the group was a 11yr old boy, so my french didn't get me that far. So the instructor was also talking 90%+ in french, didn't learn all that much, still was in front of the other 2 most the time tho Also figured on the last day i was probably riding switch (wrong foot in front) all the time, that wasn't making things easier. And my shoes were waaay to big(also lended those) so my feet got numb everytime i started boarding.
Totally hooked now tho, it's alot more fun than skiing, i feel with boarding there's alot more variety once u master the basics, i.e. getting down the slope. With skiing there's not alot of tricks you can learn, with snowboarding you can go all freestyle everywhere. You just fall alot more:f_rolleyes:
Bought these nice blue skiing pants in sale right before i went, brought them back afterwards because there was HUGE hole on my ass. 'I suppose these pants are ment to live longer than 1wk snowboarding', got a full refund. Didn't tell them i used them for 300m+ of icy slide track tho.

Pokerupdate:
Due to moving and holiday and seeing old friends there's not alot of poker going on. The poker that ís going on, is a huge downer, feels even bigger because the volume is just small as fuck. Dropping NL400 for a while to regain grinding stability and confidence. The alcohol i've been consuming isn't helping either. If you're reading this, you'll probably thinking he's joking, but drinking alcohol and playing poker are just 2 stupid things to combine, even when they're days apart. The brainfog lingers for days really. First 2 days after the holiday i couldn't really focus, as my body was craving for the breakfast i usually don't take(intermitted fasting ftw)... That's alot of focus i could've used for poker. And making those 1 or 2 river mistakes less/more could turn a session around completely.

Yeah for snowboarding you need the right boots at least :), also be careful, you can fall quite a lot harder then with ski's, especially on your back. You're right about the alcohol; but how are we supposed to reduce stress. Good luck achieving your goals, I think we're not that far apart goal-wise. I think it makes sense to hire a mental coach to help you reach them, I eventually reluctantly gave into that idea, and I don't regret it.

Edit; also a cleaning lady is a huge amount of time saved ;)

I got a dishwasher probably will try to have it for the rest of my life
My girlfriend disagrees fore some reason (I will forget to do my thing or sth? )

Fasting in the morning sounds really horrible for poker btw if you grind in the mornings, that must surely impact mood and focus?
And I got 2x23'' but I've been looking at these widescreen beasts for a while, 34'' even the ultra wide 38'' when they die, why not consider those

And hey, I still have attention span, just skipped through the snowboard part, do I get a cookie?

My place is a bit too small to consider a cleaning lady. I don't live in a penthouse(yet).

If you're not used to fasting, then yes it might impact your mood and focus, due to you being used to having breakfast at set times and or snack at 10 etc...
But to me it's the best choice probably, i take 2 cups of coffee at ~10 and then grind on till i have my lunch around 1.
Alot of people eat a breakfast with alot of fast carbohydrates, which spike your bloodsugar levels. You feel active and energized for a while, till these bloodsugar levels drop back down and dip even lower. Which is around 10 o clock, when alot of people take another small snack, to get a new boost in bloodsugar levels etc.
These swings in bloodsugar levels make it harder for you to maintain a solid focus.
The idea of fasting goes back to the primal age, where we as hunters and gatherers didn't have a supermarket around every block. Back in the day people often had to go days without food, the longer they were in their fast, the more focussed they would become as it was becoming more and more important they'd catch some food.

Pokerwise: finally had a solid day again, don't know wether or not i'm back in the green for the month as i haven't been tracking my hours/$ properly due to moving/holidays etc etc.
