What are your opinions of the new "Split" poker format at Pokerstars?
First time I saw it, I thought it is just a clever scam to get even more rake out of players (but especially n00bs). I mean, we are talking about Pokerstars, after all - everything they do is for maximizing the rake they could possibly get.
Lets say you have a full house on one board and nothing at all at the second board. The villain however has nothing on the first board and an obvious straight on the second board. The villain goes all in. What am I supposed to do? Go all in, just to split the pot (and have Pokerstars collect extra rake)?
But lets sat I have a set on one board, with a low chance that the villain has a straight there as well? If I call the villain, then at best I will split the pot, at worst he has a straight on both boards and I lose everything. Also, it is unlikely that the villain will fold, if I were to raise, or go to all in.
This is yet one of those moments I just wish that Pokerstars would go broke and be replaced by a normal Poker site. Or am I wrong? Am I exaggerating things here?
