I'm not sure why but I had this hand tagged as a "forum" hand. Maybe because it was one of the many hands I lost at showdown causing my to lose two buy ins in Saturday's session.

But basically, we were playing 9-handed and it dropped to 5-handed.

Villain 3bets from CO, his 3bet is 0.6 but I decided not to check this :f_drink:. Realistically villains holding a monster hand, most likely AA or KK. But were 5-handed so perhaps he's loosened up, maybe this was my thinking at the time, I don't know.
I should have folded pre flop but didn't. Should have folded OTF but didn't. I was okay to check/call the turn as I pick up TPGK and a FD.

Fold preflop might be better, but it was not the end of world to call his 3bet.

As played, you must realize that you were not going anywhere on this board (especially villain was short stacked). Your hand was favored against JJ. You even had some equalty vs QQ+. Instead of a check/call, a donk shove would be your best option here. You needed to fold his hands like AK, AQ which dominated your hand.

You donk shove otf for value, not just semi-bluff.

100% agree that this was a pre flop fold. However, I don't thinks shoving the turn here is good. His range is very strong and I'm only folding worse hands. He is calling QQ+ and diamonds. In which case I still need to hit the flush. Therefore I think it would have been okay to check/fold the flop or perhaps make a small block bet of half pot? I want to get to the next few cards as cheaply as possible.

Donking the flop imo. Since villain is short, u should jam. We get some worse hands to fold (66-99) and are NEVER completely covered. We have our overcards or the FD either.

Check/call is worse than x/f imo. OTF villain got most likely the best hand, we wont let him bluff.
