Two hands I've played so bad that I'm angry against myself... Just an emptyness and disbelieve.

I recently caught myself saying, "well I think I will call anyway" just as I was about to click the button.
I then said, "No, I like those chips right where they are -- in my stack" and managed to fold.

What do you do when you catch yourself doing something you know is wrong?
How do you handle it?

Hi Rhodriguez,

It's puzzling for me what I did the first 2k hands different.

Maybe nothing different at all...

Have a look at this tool that shows the effect of variance:
http://www.pokerdope.com/poker-variance-calculator/
When you look at the plot, you'll see what happens over 20 sample runs of 100,000 hand each.

Now run the same thing with 2000 hands.
You'll see that the best run would be up 1000 BB, and the worst down that much.

All the best,

Well, apart from the spewiness, bluffing in impossible situations is not uncommon in poker.

In 2-7 lowball for example, bluffing when you pair your top card is common.
If you bluff when you pair any card, your bluff frequency gets too high.

If you are playing lowball, and hold 7,7,5,3,2 it is impossible to win against any unpaired hand, but you might get worse pairs, and A-, K- or Q-lo hands to fold.
