Hi,
I really like, that you put out educational videos. I have been a teacher for the bigger part of my adult life. It's always awesome to see achieved people share their knowledge. From what I see you are going for 2-3 videos/week. I don't know what you goals are, but if I learnt anything in my career after being a teacher. It's that presentation quality and accessibility are key. Especially if you want these videos to be part of your professional career. If you do that just for funsies you can ignore the rest.
Some things that I want to point out:
I can see, that you already worked on your thumbnail for part #2 and #3. It looks way cleaner. The lighting in the picture is better. :f_thumbsup:
The quality of your cam is somewhat poor. The focus of the video is only your face. You are constantly checking your notes, which is not bad in of itself. But if the only thing the viewer sees is you, he is watching you flicking your eyes from left to right for 9 minutes. The cam is shaking the whole time.
A cheap and easy way to fix this is with a small presentation and the cam being only a small part in the top right. It gives the viewer something to look at and all the other problems are smaller in comparison. Plus nowadays it is pretty easy to make a professional looking presentation. Plus Plus you can link to your presentation over your web page, which can lead to more traffic.

I hope this helps. If you want to talk more about it, just let me know. As I said previously I am all for skilled people sharing their knowledge. :f_drink:

@Netgames999: thanks for the feedback, i definitely agree that camera quality and lighting are really important factors. I'm still not going all-out yet, not sure how hard I wanna commit. Have already filmed 7 Poker concepts of the day, #1-6 were just done in my room with my laptop camera (which sucks due to poor lighting) #7 has a more unique background (in the china courtyard house / poker school) and I did some basic video editing.

@aafrancis: :f_biggrin:

If i eventually decide to get more serious, equipment, thumbnails, video editing will all be improved significantly. But I'm still thinking about commitment levels. I'm probably aiming to transform my Channel into a "Make Money Online" type of thing, Digital Nomad lifestyle etc.

Tomorrow I'll be releasing a video about the 3 different types of E-commerce, so for those of you looking to transition out of poker or have a side hustle, stay tuned!

@Netgames999: What are you doing right now?

Just wanna share some thoughts after having done business for 2 years (more, if you count the time I wrote my own books and made my own courses).

Business is not easy - It's often a grind, sometimes you sink a bunch of money in without too much returns, you have to manage a ton of people. But it's fun, and very fulfilling. I could never imagine myself working at some shit-ass job doing some brain-dead work (like I did in the army). Of course it could be ok to work for others if I had a nice cozy office desk at Google or Facebook but such job opportunities are rare.

Anyway, I think it is WAY easier for poker players to transition into business.

1. We understand the importance of the Hourly Rate
I don't care if an Investment Banker makes $10k, or $20k a month, if he has to bust his ass working 300+ hours a month. His hourly is terrible and he sacrifices his lifespan + sells his soul to the devil for that money.

2. We are able to handle massive amounts of risks and swings
When you have experienced 50k losses in a single day before, nothing ever comes close to that anymore in the business world, unless you are Zuckerberg/Musk and your share prices tank like crazy.

3. We usually have a larger bankroll than our peers (if you are moderately successful in poker)
Many of my family members and friends found it very hard to spend $100 a day on Advertising, or even $50 a day. That's a huge chunk of their salary. However, the guys who transitioned from poker to ecomm were able to blast ads with more courage.

4. We are used to being in charge of our own schedule and work
I'm still a little bit of a lazy ass, but I think I started working harder when I started ecommerce. I'm also able to focus hard when I have a clear goal/task at hand, be it grinding out products, creating marketing campaigns, or writing powerpoint lessons for my poker school. In Poker, focusing harder might increase your winrate but it can't make your session end faster (technically you could leave earlier) and get it over and down with earlier.

5. A huge focus on self-development
Good Poker Players are always trying to improve, work on themselves, their mental game, improve their diet, go to the gym, because they can attribute this to an immediate ROI. On the other hand, most people working in regular jobs don't have the right mindset to constantly grow and improve. They are still earning a fixed wage. This gives poker players a huge edge in business.

Main Differences
1. You might be doing something more fulfilling.
Especially if your business truly helps others

2. There might be value in what you are creating
If you build a brand, loyal following and stable revenue streams, you could sell your business for a price eventually. For poker, it all amounts to nothing. When the grinding stops, so does the money.

3. Management/Delegation of Other People + Having to Network
I'm so used to working as a lone wolf. I don't exactly like going out to network with others but it's super important. It's impossible to learn everything on your own so I always try to find people who are smarter than me, try to provide some value for them in some way and hopefully they'll share something back with me. Management of team is also quite tough - You need to make sure people don't fuck up, keep them motivated and focused on certain goals. Keep them in line, delegate the right tasks to the right person.

4. It's more stable than poker swings
Business Swings each month range from breakeven to mega bull-run. For Poker, I've had plenty of heartbreaking losing months in the past earlier in my career. Nothing comes close to poker, unless you're a trader.

5. Accounting is a Pain in the ass
For Online Poker you have HM2
For Offline Poker I would juts record every session in an excel spreadsheet, with the number of hours and profit for the session.
For Business, you need to count salary expenses, Cost of Goods, Marketing Expenses, other fixed costs, taxes etc. It's a massive pain in the butt.

I am working for a comparison portal in product management. Basically we decide what a customer gets to see and why he gets to see it. Analysis of that date and do adaptations. Coming up with new features and how to implement them (not from a technical standpoint, that's for the developers).
Additionally, in spring, I am getting my degree in Digital Media with the focus being on Social Media.
So I am not self-employed in E-Commerce. But maybe some day. A man can dream. :f_cool:

Nice Video Galvin! Is it possible for you to go into more detail of what you chose as your specific sells to give us an example of how it all came together. I would find it very interesting

@Sikwithit: Maybe in the future, i'll go into greater detail
but in general the top categories in amazon are usually home appliances, home & garden, toys, gadgets, cosmetics

i guess clothing is huge but it's super hard to compete when there are 10000s of designs out there... why should anyone buy yours? We don't face the same problem when you have some mega fancy underwater drone or some onion slicer that saves your time by half.

Hi mbml
Nice thread. :f_cool:

Anyway.. How many hours do you want to invest in NL200 and NL500 games in this year?

@Laci24: If you are talking about stars, I am playing on stars either for fun, or to create coaching material. Don't really find it fun nor +EV to play there with no stats. I can also only play in China, and I am usually busy in China creating coaching lessons.

Just came back from a Week's Long Trip to Japan. Visited Kyoto and Tokyo. Weather sucked hard but I think their fireworks are really great, do give it a shot if you visit there in the Summer Time.

Got to try this as well - Nagashi Soumen

Not my video, but I did the exact same thing. Costs like $10+ USD, taste wasn't anything special but it was just pretty cool to eat your cold noodles like that.

I also just conducted a lesson today earlier on. Haven't really conducted too many lessons myself in Chinese - Way too used to rattling off nonstop in an online recorded video. This time I spent a lot more time elaborating on different concepts regarding Cash Game Play and to be honest it's difficult to try to allow players of different levels to learn in the same classroom. We also did a 2 hr session where we played and opened our hole cards for most hands to explain the situation. Almost everyone prefers more "hands-on" lessons as opposed to the dry theory lessons.

I got a bit lazy with creating new content for my youtube channel but will continue when I free up more spare time. got my hands on premiere pro so I will be learning that, and I will also see if there is a way for me to repackage lots of free content into short 3min videos and repurpose them in multiple formats.
