Are video producers checking comments these days?

So question is in topic. Not sure if there was/is any sort of comment alarm system for video producers? Though most of comments are practically useless anyway so such system would need some intelligence. But its fairly understandable if people are not giving any real feedback if most wont follow comments even on new videos.

I can't speak on behalf of other coaches but I do follow the comments. We don't get any notifications from pokerstrategy but we can follow the comments with RSS feed. I have an add-on on Chrome that notifies me :)

Hi ghaleon,

There is a RSS feed available for all coaches, on top of that we are also asking them to reply individually if there is no reply for longer time. If you are referring to honigmund38 and your comments, he is aware of them and will reply as soon as possible. It's summer and not everyone is available every day to follow up. Also remember that if you ask a lot of detailed questions, there are two things you should consider:
- the time it takes to give you detailed answers,
- the amount of knowledge you are asking them to explain - sometimes it can just make more sense to schedule a private coaching session with a coach or request to create a entirely new video taking on the specific topic you are interested, rather than explaining everything in the comments section (we are always open for feedback & suggestions).

Cheers.

hey ghaleon,

i assume that this is also aimed at me since you posted a lot of questions under some of my videos. first of all there is no alarm system that alerts me if there are new comments posted and i personally dont think its even necessary. the comment section serves the purpose of leaving some quick feedback or asking (somewhat simple) quick questions. thats at least my understanding. if you have more in depth questions (which i def do appreciate) you are always welcome to pm the video creator to pose some more in depth strategical question. that way you also make sure that your questions cant be overseen. also you are more than welcome to arrange individual coaching sessions (at least with me) where im going to specifically answer every question you have.

yet please understand that answering like 5-10 strategic questions in the comment section takes a lot of time. i am trying my best to answer as much as i can but im certainly going to miss some questions here and there.

Thing with videos is that they don't get refreshed /person notified.
The best chance of getting answers you have is to reply in the corresponding thread of the series at least I always make, where the producer will see that there's a new post

I have given comment on lot of videos in general so not pointed to anyone specifically. Usually when I have commented on Moshman videos I note him through skype. Obviously not possible with every producer :)

One good side of video comments is that they add value to videos itself. If comments are given through PM or some separate thread there is less/no value added to people viewing it later on. How many will end up reading video series related thread e.g. half year after last video is released?

Sometimes my comments might get bit long as I make them with time stamps as I go through video. Sorry if they have been too work heavy to answer.

If you want to get notified you can use RSS feed. Just install an add-on to your browser and it will tell you when you have new comments. Instructions can be found on our internal board.
