Hey guys,
So...This crazy idea's been crossing my mind lately, mostly cause I'm not happy with my job as a developer and I'm tired of bosses and long working hours with no progression in sight, to quit my job and turn pro...But there are so much hiccups that make this idea sound crazy:
-I haven't played poker seriously in a long time, like....4 years? Lately I've been playing half an hour somedays on NL2, pretty rusty so I have like 15k sample with 4.6bb/100...Having said that I have no idea how the field is at NL5+.
-I was thinking of spending 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, like my current job. 80/20 ratio on grinding/studying. Will I be able to keep focus and keep up with the schedule?
-I have money to live 6 months top (spending 500€ per month) without withdrawing from pokerstars so, with no income. After the 6 month I need to have a bankroll to support a 400€/monthly withdrawal as income or else I'll be in deep trouble.
-I want to force myself to start grinding at NL2 and then maybe 1 week into it deposit some money just to play NL5, hoping that the field won't be much harder.
That's the...A "plan". The B plan would be to invest my time in developing an app/software, but that involves brainstorming and dedicating my time to something that might not work and 6 months is short to come up with something and make an income...
The C plan is trying plan A or plan B for a couple of months and after that sending my CV everywhere and do interview to get a job...
So, what do you think? Am I delusional? Is being self employed harsh? Is being a pro online poker player even harsher?
