Hi fellows...
BB is unknown.
Go ahead and muck me cause of the check OTF. What would I check on this board UTG? Still some hands right?
How do you manage this OTT and OTR? He has 33 in his range. Maybe A3? Don't think a weaker set plays this way.
This monster bets are a bit new to me, once on lower limits nobody does this, even with the nuts.
Snap call?
Hi zetozinho
Ewww -- tough spot for sure.
As you point out, when you don't CBet you miss value.
I CBet that flop texture with 100% of my range. You want to be called by 55s and 66s
Since you don't CBet, those hands -- or the rare 56 can now assume that they have the best hand and bet accordingly.
He overbets OTT which is weird for 2nd or 3rd set.
But if he does have that, I am guessing he puts you on an overpair, and wants to exploit you.
I doubt that he has 78, although that is certainly playable.
I think you must fold the river, and perhaps the turn.
I'm really curious to read what others think.
Best wishes for a peaceful, prosperous 2019,
VS
flop check is interesting, actually i don't think this flop is super dry, as you just found out.
once you check, this is literally the top of your range on the river, so i'm having a hard time folding given that it's not completely unlikely that he valuebets worse sets.
or maybe you check some 78? that would be not bad.
obviously 78 is possible, and there are no flushdraws that have bricked. i am definitely folding a lot, but as the literal top of hero's range i might call this one.
Hmm dunno if i would fold.
Dude wtf with that check behind otf? If u checked to try to induce a bluff, now you know why you shouldnt slowplay.:/
Bom ano e bons flops!

That's exactly what I intend to do ![]()
Haha that spot is priceless. A tough runout to give you a lesson ! I think I'd call anyway because I'm curious and you only lose to 78 (what 3x would ovb that turn ? Ok maybe 73s)
Well, I think that you can count on the fingers of one hand the times you check top set OTF and end up facing 2 bets like this on a board that gets bad and bad.
I don't know why he doesn't shove OTR, he has 83bb left and bets 65bb. I can pay those 83 because I have him covered.
He insta bets OTT and OTR. I also lose to A3 and 33. 73 won't defend probably OOP vs UTG. QQ is the top of my range has Tomaloc said but I think that 2 barrels like that won't be bluffs 95% of the time even really high stakes.
What size OTF? My range doesn't hit well this board. Only QQ and AQ.

Os flops são o menos. O pior são os rivers
Don't like slowplay at low limits. Bet whenever you hit, and if the opponents got air, well, too bad, next hand.
As played, against an unknown opponent, I wound find it hard to fold, could be playing double pairs or worse sets the same way, you have no information so why not. As Floxy said :
A tough runout to give you a lesson !
Yo,
Yea I would bet 66% for value and protection OTF, because it is obligatory unless i have info, that the villain will bet/bet on my x for value!
OTT as played is a snap fold no doubt! The only reason I would only call instead of raising OTT is to call every river as well!
OTR is getting interesting, because 100bb BB if we assume, that he isn't fish he should never have anything that beats you, so will SNAP call!
The most funny thing is, that you can have any nuts in there 3x, 78s, all the sets if you bet the flop and he should never have any of this unless he is fish! But when you miss CB OTF you told him, that you don't have any of this so you made yourself CAPPED, so he simply exploit it, because everyone knows, that the capped range cannot hold vs 2 barrels especially over bets:)_
Cheers
I do not particularly see the point in checking the flop. As played I would call the turn and river, it is just not feasible to check top set on the flop to fold on the runout. His overbets are actually a sign of weakness rather than strength as most players would generally bet smaller with their monsters.
Thanks for the reviews.
Why don't know nl25 pool tendencies very well so Im going to stick to the good old ABC for now.

I would've thought that was a mistake, I'm not Cbetting any flops with 100% of my range.
What's your reasoning behind that?

I'm folding it on the river and justifying it as exploitative play.

That sounds so like 2013 thinking lol.
It's totally possible to cbet range in many spots, often it's even gonna be totally sound and balanced with the right sizing in fact.
Moreover sometimes you just have such a big range advantage that there is no use checking anything. Of course in 4bet and 3bet pots but even from time to time in SRP. Not to mention it's pretty exploitative of the field tendency to overfold on a lot of textures versus some sizings.
lol I thought cbetting 100% was 2013 thinking. That's what I was doing in 2013 and now I've changed to cbetting a range (except in special situations).
I check back some low pairs, and AK, AJ type hands here. I also don't mind checking back QQ because it seems like a dry enough board to me.
I get what you're saying though. This might be an area for me to check out.
Yeah but let's say that in 2013, like most people, you were playing with 2010 or before thinking.
That's why I call it 2013 thinking, Janda's theoretical era. I wouldn't have the pretension to pretend I'm playing with 2018-2019 thinking at the moment for example, it's something you can only get afterwards ![]()
I do think it's an area for you to check out, a lot of EV to get there and a lot of small changes to make in your game probably. And I don't like checking back top set in pretty much any case, it's just losing one street of value most of the time and risking crappy runouts for nothing. Just bet small if you happened to lock the board.
